This is our third trip to this beautiful resort. We continue to come for the great customer service from a well-seasoned staff experience. Cesar is five diamonds with his morning and lunchtime greetings at the Carnival Buffet along with Oscar and Alexani. Always smiling, engaging with the guests and making us feel special at the resort. Alejandro recognized my husband as soon as he walked into the breakfast area with a big welcome back hug. Franciso from Capers welcomed us home with his beautiful smile and generous hugs. He is the best public relations for this resort. Always with a smile, he delivers great customer service and showmanship with his presentation of the food. In Secrets French restaurant, Eloyon (hope I spelled his name correctly) was the perfect host for our special dinner. The rooms were clean and comfortable throughout our stay. We did miss the changes from previous years such as having the option of the BBQ by the pool area everyday along with classes offering how to make guacamole along with specialty drinks and other food items. The pool service was efficient with Diego, Manuel serving us throughout our stay. The pool songs were repetitious each day with the except of the last 3 of our 10 day stay. The last few years the pool personnel engaged most of us at the pool for exercise, dancing and games which this year I found less was offered. We realize that cost need to be cut but not offering Corona, and Modella beers to the guests is not Mexico! We come for the food classes, pool atmosphere, bbq lunches as an alternative to inside dining and most of all the staff. The food that is offered at this resort is very good compared to other all inclusive resorts. The chefs deserve an applause. No complaints at all. Lastly Mario who we have known since our arrival three years ago was the perfect bell captain. We remember when he was assisting at the front desk. Hyatt, you need to bring back the favorites for your guests to make their Mexican vacation complete!

Dreams Vallarta Bay

Puerta Vallarta surpassed my expectations. The boardwalk area was nice with a great atmosphere. We stayed at Dreams, which was a smaller hotel than some of the other resorts but made the very best of what they had to offer. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Arrival was fantastic (cold towels and a cold drink) Check in process was slow and then we couldn’t get into our room until exactly 3:00. With a young child who needed a nap this was a bit challenging but we managed The views were amazing and the staff outstanding. My only complaint was the fact that you had to sit through their plot to get you to go to the timeshare sales pitch. On a vacation that is the last thing I want pushed down my throat and they were fairly aggressive with it. After that it was a great time

We had a wonderful stay at Dreams. It was actually MUCH better than we were expecting considering the price, about half of what we pay in San Jose del Cabo for a comparable resort. The atmosphere was very welcoming and accommodating in all ways. From the welcome guava margaritas to the carrying and delivery of our bags. Check in was easy, except for the part where they waste 20 minutes trying to sell you on attending the Hyatt Club presentation. The aggressive sales approach is prominent in the main lobby, even the bell boys will get after you, so we avoided the as much as possible. At one point the lady the was trying to sell us the Hyatt Club at check in, came running after us down the driveway, as we were on a walk to the store. You just need to keep telling them no or you will really need that the massage after the hours long sales pitch! For some people its worth it, but for us, we'd rather pay for our massage. The rooms were spacious and clean. We had an ocean view preferred club suite which was nice, but the restaurants are in the main building and require you to travel to the ground floor of the preferred club, then up to the main lobby on the 3rd floor, move to a different elevator and then go back down to the 1st floor. It could get confusing, but once you figured it out it was fine. The noise level at the pool was a little much mid day, but if you go early, it's not as bad. There is long sun on the property and the pools don't close until 8pm so there is plenty of time to enjoy the pools. The Dreams side does have a lot of families, but that was fine for us, they were mostly babies and young children in the bar pool, not a lot of screaming kids. There is a water slide and kids pool separate from the bar pool, so there are plenty of places for kids to play. We originally were wanting to be able to swim in the ocean (like we do in Cabo at the Hilton and the Paradisus), and we were able to wade in, but the instability of the bottom, occasional gross water and debris, as well as the strength of the waves combined with the drop off of the main beach, the pool seemed more appealing. It didn't diminish our experience and there are plenty of lounge chairs by the pool as well as on the beach. Though the vendors on the beach can be seemingly aggressive, they tend to respect a courteous "no, gracias." and were very nice people. We found the location of the resort to be nice and central, close to the airport and stores. We walked to the Soriana Hiper, a convenient grocery store in about 10 minutes. They carry a wide variety of food and souvenir items as well as sunblock and pool floaties. It's always an adventure to visit the local grocery store no matter where we are in the world. There was sufficient variety of food available night and day. the Preferred Club had food available for breakfast and into the early evening. It was nice, but snack level buffet type food, though they did have tocino available everyday! Room service was good and prompt, as well as available 24 hours. The restaurants were all good, though as anywhere the buffet can be a little stale, but there were always people available to make quesadillas or omelets as well as smoothies to order. The ice cream available in Coco cafe was good, but I was often so full that I could barely eat it. I did also enjoy the availability of Passion Fruit for my drinks! Bar tenders were always happy to add it to any drink for me. All of the bartenders were great, but most especially Hector in the Preferred Bar. We also received exceptional service from Emilio by the pool. The Secrets pool next door is nice, but crowded. We were kicked out by the pool waiter police, even though we weren't eating or drinking anything. There isn't anything really different or special on the secrets side that we saw, except perhaps the grade of the food. There were more sushi options available at the Sushi Bar at Secrets and better options at the Barefoot Grill by the pool ( gyros and fish sandwiches, vs burgers and hot dogs at Dreams). The AC in our room was more than sufficient and having our room reset daily was really nice. We always had plenty of towels and they were kind enough to have our room service dishes cleared. The app is really useful at this resort for menus and to order service such as tray pick up for room service. We had massages at the spa, they have a great deal on couples massages on Wednesdays, I made my reservation 2 weeks early to secure the time and day I wanted. The app is also good for finding out what the deals are, day by day at the spa. Also, you can access the list and times for activities at the resort. Overall, we had a wonderful time and for nearly half the price we usually pay to go to Cabo San Lucas. We would highly recommend this resort.

Karla the wedding coordinator was excellent and very easy and accommodating to work with. Jose our server stood out at the wedding to me as an absolute rock star! He had the best attitude. I've been to quite a few all inclusive resorts and this one was my favorite, partly because the staff were so fun and friendly everywhere you went. From the coco coffee bar or the gym, to every restaurant, pool server/bartenders. Alan, jesus, jose and pool side Carlos made sure the espresso martinis were always available! Thanks for the great trip team at dreams.

We had our wedding here at the end of April 2026, with 25 guests staying at the resort with us for the week, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the Preferred Club section, and it was absolutely worth it. The concierge team was fantastic, especially Adriana, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. We loved having access to the Preferred Club lounge with easy snacks and breakfast, the private bar that was never too busy, and the jacuzzi on the balcony. The location was also perfect, close to the pools, beach, and everything we needed. The food was honestly 10/10. We loved the restaurants and buffet at the resort, and all of our guests kept talking about how good everything was. The resort itself was also incredibly clean, the pools were great, and the beach was beautiful. We feel really lucky to have had our wedding in such a stunning place. What truly made this experience unforgettable, though, was our wedding coordinator, Karla Cruz. From start to finish, Karla was phenomenal to work with. Planning a destination wedding can feel overwhelming, but she made the entire process feel easy and stress-free. She was organized, responsive, calming, and genuinely cared about making our wedding special. One thing that really stood out to us was that Karla stayed for our entire wedding, which we thought was incredible and showed how much she truly cared. Our wedding day went perfectly, and that was absolutely because of Karla and the wonderful team she coordinated. We also wanted to recognize some of the amazing staff who made our week so memorable. Alan was such a fantastic bartender and always brought such great energy. Jose gave incredible service throughout our stay, and another server whose name we unfortunately forgot was equally amazing and attentive. The DJ also did an incredible job helping create such a fun atmosphere for our wedding reception. Every single one of our guests had an amazing time and kept raving about the resort throughout the trip. We would absolutely come back again and would highly recommend this resort for both vacations and weddings.

Overall nice resort with reasonable quality food and friendly helpful staff. But the pool area is a disaster waiting to happen. Slippery everywhere and too easy to fall...no non slip surfaces; insufficient seating at the pools...could only get lounge chairs by "tipping" the staff every day. Poolside service was patchy; good some says terrible others. Allowing little kids (including those in diapers) into the hot tub is nuts! Firstly, it can be dangerous to little people (their parents are simply ignorant) and secondly the water got pretty disgusting. Yes...there is a sign that says only age 12 and up but nothing is enforced. The tepanyaki dinner is fun but be prepared to get overcooked dried out food! Everyone had a good time. Not changing the menus in the specialty restaurants leads to boredom pretty quickly. We go to PVR often on our own...this is not a great value proposition but it was good for the kids (6 + 9) and that is certainly worth considering. The beds, while comfortable, are past their "best before" date with central sagging of all the mattresses in both of our rooms in the preferred building.

Had a pleasant stay for 7 days during Spring Break with 4 other families with kids which made it more fun! Our check in was seamless & we were greeted with kindness. Our first room in preferred section was a handicap accessible room with broken central air and very low shower head that wouldn’t work out for tall folks . The olug in air conditioner wasn’t working properly and was shooting out warm air. I quickly called and talked to manager about how we needed to switch rooms as we needed a room to accommodate a typical family of 4 comfortably. So glad we did cause it was feeling rather muggy and hot. Second room was much better with higher shower head and central air (much needed in 90 degree weather. All the food was pretty good. Room service was always tasty. Our favorites were the brown sugar, French toast and the Mexican Machaca plate. Ask for rex hot sauce. Pros: Rented a preferred cabana and it was awesome because we had shade, drinks, butler, and poolside chairs with umbrella. The canned drinks were more upscale (more options) If you want to spend more, get the ocean front Oasis cabana which has top deck, lower deck, showers, private butler and bar, massage area, etc. Pool bar food is great. Fish tacos every day with guacamole and chips. Food everything. Blueberry cheesecake ice cream is the bomb. Castaways has good food (shrimp tacos are good) Italian is a must for adult night, we sent kids to kids club. The steak with blue cheese and marshes potatoes was top notch. Calamari is amazing. Everything there was good! Wine too! Carnival had a wonderful grill night with all the wonderful meats, and breakfasts were good. Try to get there early as there is a line. The Asian restaurant was fun. We booked with all adults one night for behi Hana style hibachi and we all enjoyed it. We did it twice, you need to reserve in person at 930 am guest service area. Mexican res was ok , my Al pastor tacos were a bit salty. Desert was amazing (caramel flan and caramel popcorn cornbread with vanilla icecream was my fav. Cons: very hard to find pool chairs even in the morning time. People will mark them with their towels that is like getting a cabana for one day is definitely worth it. The beds in hotel room are so tiny (full size) not comfortable for fam of 4 but we managed. The adult drinks (alcohol ) were very watered down especially the beers. The double shot pina coladas were very refreshing and shot of silver tequila was the buzzed feeling we got but that’s ok. We aren’t big drinkers anyhow. Felt like there was nothing for kids to do at night except run around and climb structures near the pond area which was kind of dangerous. One person “Emilio” stood out and was such a kind, hard worker. He always attended to us and was so on top of everything. Please don’t forget to tip. Overall, place was nice, food was good, ocean view rooms. The beach was swim bale but rocky. We saw some small jellyfish near by, be careful. Lastly, the whole entire hotel was slipper especially the pool restrooms and walking Out of the poos . Saw so many slip and fall especially kids . I recommend to wear sandals with good traction. Mine were worn out and I had a good slide and almost fell on my back. This resort is not designed for the elderly. Too many risk fall areas, you can easily sprain or break a bone. Ask for more towels near restroom area in room or floor mats. Not sure why in Mexico they always have slippery tile everywhere ! Other than that, so glad we came. Didn’t try the spa but looked nice. The gym was great! Airport was 15 min away. We all had a fun time and would return again. We met some nice families from Canada. Ps) If you want fresh fruit for room service, you have to request it. I felt like I had better luck calling than using app.

And I had to ask 3 times and then talk to front desk. Pain in ass because I like bottled water to brush teeth. But first world problems . Pool BBQ was good when they fired it up. Felt very safe there and aside a few issues, will definitely return. Just an honest review. Next time would stay on Secrets side

Our first time staying at Dreams Vallarta Bay was for our wedding, and what an unforgettable experience it was. We travelled with 40 of our closest friends and family and spent 7 incredible days celebrating together. There are so many layers to this review, so let’s start with the amenities. The food, the rooms, the pool, the spa, and the overall service were all impeccable. Our entire group couldn’t stop raving about the facilities, and having every room ocean-facing was such a special touch that made the experience feel even more elevated. The service truly stood out. Every staff member we encountered was attentive, kind, and genuinely fun. You can feel the care in everything they do, and it made such a difference for both us and our guests. We cannot say enough good things about the team. Now, onto the wedding itself. I have to give the biggest, most heartfelt thank you to Livier, our wedding coordinator, who was truly the reason our day was as perfect as it was. She took the time to understand our vision and brought it to life in a way that exceeded every expectation. She handled every detail with care, and made us feel completely taken care of throughout the entire week. On the day of the wedding, everything flowed effortlessly, and we were able to be fully present and soak in every moment because we trusted her completely. Eduardo and the spa team made my bridesmaids and I feel so beautiful and pampered, which was such a special part of the experience. Our minister, Lucie, created a ceremony that felt incredibly personal and meaningful, and our photographer, Charly, truly exceeded all expectations. We are absolutely in love with our photos. From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless, thoughtful, and genuinely unforgettable. Between the incredible staff, beautiful resort, and the care that went into every detail of our wedding, we truly felt so celebrated and taken care of. It was everything we could have hoped for and more. 10/10 experience. We would do it all over again without hesitation.

She made the wedding planning very simple and stress free, and on our big day she was present and available making sure everything went smoothly! I would highly recommend staying here and having a wedding here!

We recently stayed at this resort and had a really lovely overall experience, with a few areas that could definitely be improved. One of the absolute highlights of our trip was the kids club—Sarahi was truly exceptional. She made such a genuine connection with the children and created a fun, welcoming environment that gave us peace of mind and allowed us to relax. It was a standout part of our stay and something we really appreciated. Dining was another strong point, especially at Castaway restaurant. The dinners there were consistently wonderful—great food, beautiful setting, and attentive service. It quickly became one of our favorite spots on the property. We also loved the location of the resort. It’s perfectly situated and offers beautiful views, and the pools were fantastic—always warm and very enjoyable for both adults and kids. That said, there were a few disappointments. The lack of nightly entertainment was noticeable, especially compared to other resorts. Even a bit more variety or consistency in evening activities would have made a big difference. We were also frustrated with the mini bar service, which was inconsistent and often not restocked as expected. It’s a small detail, but one that impacts the overall experience. Lastly, like many resorts, the “chair game” was real—finding pool or beach chairs without reserving them early in the morning was quite challenging, which took away from the relaxed vibe. Overall, we had a great trip thanks to the staff, location, and dining, but with a few improvements, this resort could truly be exceptional.

Best Resort!!!
Exceptional·Mar 2026
We had been to this resort twice in the past but not for 4 years. Every time we would be somewhere else we would all compare it to Dreams Vallarta Bay and were never happy with any other resort. When we were finally able to make it back, it did not disappoint. Junior is the best, anticipating everything we needed.…
