The service and checking in was fine. This hotel is on a VERY busy street so you will hear road noise 24/7. The room was quaint with a fire place and sitting room. The building is very outdated and not very clean. The TV didn’t work and neither did the heater. There is a big gap around the door so I’m sure this room gets very cold during the winter. I think for what we paid on Hotel Tonight application it is probably worth what we paid. The location is perfect for walking to Fisherman’s Wharf, Alvarado Street and Convention Center. Many historic sites around here as well. Anyway, will I come back……probably not.

A motel like establishment rather than hotel .
This a motel like establishment. No where near a 4 star. What a disappointment. One of the reviews suggested a power wash was needed because the whole place is disgusting. Covered in seagull poo everywhere. The tiles hadn’t seen a mop in years. A tired and filthy ‘hotel’. The reception...
This a motel like establishment. No where near a 4 star. What a disappointment. One of the reviews suggested a power wash was needed because the whole place is disgusting. Covered in seagull poo everywhere. The tiles hadn’t seen a mop in years. A tired and filthy ‘hotel’. The reception room has pee like odour on entry and unfortunately more strange smells follow you where ever you move in the building. I would suggest a bomb but that is rather rude 😀
Rooms aren’t cleaned on a daily bases and was reflected in the rooms. So glad I took antibacterial wipes as these were needed to wipe down all the counter surfaces due to some questionable stains on some surfaces and dribbles down the sides of the units.the tv didn’t work and the remote was sticky!
Beware some rooms have no safes.
Breakfast was ok but served in a school cafeteria style hall not a dining room as you would expect in hotel environment.
Not a pleasant stay.

My fiance and I stayed at Hotel Pacific this past weekend. We arrived in Monterey with no bookings, wanting to see our options before we booked. Hotel Pacific was the third hotel we looked at, and we knew right away that this is where we wanted to spend the weekend! First off, Linda (an absolute angel!) at the front desk greeted us with the most kind and sincere energy. She happily showed us a room from the hotel and let us look around. We were astounded by how big the room was! With its own fireplace, small kitchen area, big bathroom with a bath AND shower, a patio, good lighting, and lots of room to move around, we were immediately impressed. When we told Linda we wanted to stay at Hotel Pacific, she went out of her way to find a room away from the area that was getting renovated, so we wouldn't have to hear construction during the day. We couldn't be more pleased with the service, the room, and the whole experience! We loved it so much that we are looking to do our hotel room block here for our wedding! Big thanks to Linda, and we will definitely be coming back to Hotel Pacific!!

Overall, the stay was good. The location was perfect for us. The room was quiet and well appointed, but showing its age. An instruction sheet on how to use the television remote would have been appreciated.

The hallway outside our room flooded with inches of water due to rain each day we were there and it was left unaddressed for hours. As as a result we spent the weekend in wet shoes since the only way out of our room was through the water. I also have concerns about mold in the walls based on what is clearly an ongoing unmitigated recurring issue.
The elevator stopped working and was not repaired during our stay. This could have been a major issue as I recently had knee surgery, we made it work.
We were told there wouldn't be room housekeeping, but to call for more towels when needed. When we called for towels Sunday morning at 7 nobody was available to bring towels to us and it took a very long time to find out if we could go pick them up at the front desk. The shower soaps were empty our entire visit.
Parking is very limited and parking a large vehicle is a major issue. Once we do find a spot we didn't leave it because we didn't think we'd be able to park again. Parking is so limited that guests understandably park where they can making it impossible to take the turns in the garage in a mid size to large size vehicle.

Location is great and were able to walk to dinner which was nice. Paying for parking at a hotel with an on site parking garage is ridiculous.
We will not return.

We stayed for 2 days and had a large room on the 4th floor with fireplace and balcony. The room had a sofa and flat screen TV and the bed was comfortable. It was located within walking distance of other scenic places and seafood restaurants. The hotel also had a breakfast each morning. In order to get to it, one walked along the sidewalk in front to another part titled The Meeting Rooms. There was no one there to monitor who was coming in and anybody could walk in off the street and eat. The "breakfast" was buffet style and was similar to those one gets at some motel along the freeway. Rather than eat there on our second morning, we drove over to The Wild Plum Cafe & Bakery and had a much better breakfast. We were pleased with the room and disappointed with the breakfast.
