This hotel was a great find. Located right on the river near the Ponte Vecchio Bridge. They upgraded us to a suite which was large with a comfortable bed and sitting area. They even provided night shirts. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. One of the best features was a bar located on the top floor. I had an outdoor seating area with a view of the skyline, absolutely beautiful. It was also an easy walk to the train station. My only regret is that we didn’t stay here longer.

We found the staff to be excellent, very professional and very accommodating. The building is fun to explore and discover its history. We loved spending time in the evening in the rooftop lounge with its magnificent views. Breakfasts were wonderful, plenty of coffee made to order. We will happily return next time we are in Florence.

We stayed in a room with a view over the river Arno and the Ponte Vecchio. We were not disappointed the view was great. The executive double room was reasonably large. The double room was formed from a twin room and so one consequence was that there was only one bedside table. This was annoying but could easily be remedied by the hotel putting an extra bedside table when the room is used as double. The ensuite is long and thin. There is a single shower with adequate water pressure. However the shower compartment did not seal properly and so there was a lot of water on the floor after a shower. The rooms are serviced every day and they mopped everything up so it was not a major problem Room service was good-every day in the morning and again in the evening if you were out. There was one bottle of water and 1 bottle of wine free anything else from the mini-bar you had to pay for. The decor and carpets were a little tired. For us this was compensated by the fantastic view from the room. Breakfast was great and served in a beautiful room. You are seated and you order coffee or tea then you help yourself to food. Great fresh bread is provided which you can toast. My wife is gluten free and they always had gluten free bread for her. Hot food options were scrambled egg, bacon or sausage. These were great though the sausages were too strong for me. The cold food options were extensive and excellent quality. No other food is served for the rest of the day. However, there is a rooftop bar with brilliant views over Florence. This serves snacks such as lasagne, a plate of meats with bread and tuna or turkey salads. The bar was quiet during the week but got very busy at the weekend. The location of the hotel next to the Uffizi gallery is perfect for exploring Florence. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall we are happy to recommend this hotel.

We stayed in one of the modern suites - at first I was disappointed that it wasn’t an old fashioned authentically Florentine room, but we actually really enjoyed the space and having a bed each! The Wi-Fi was so much better than in other hotels and the quality of the rooms and bathrooms was superb. I like a soft bed and once I’d asked for a topper it was perfect. We’ve stayed in quite a few hotels and this had the most gorgeous room for breakfast with chandeliers and a painted ceiling with a lovely view of the Arno. The breakfast itself was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had with the most deliciously cooked cherry tomatoes and lovely fruit. The staff were polite and friendly. No complaints whatsoever, we‘d definitely stay here again and hopefully in the room with a view next time.

This hotel is in a very old building which is common with Florence hotels. However, the carpet in the rooms was very old and appeared to be dirty. The bathtub / shower is also old and because of its curved shape difficult to stand making it unsafe. The room furniture was old and looked dated and the mattress was hard and low quality. The room did NOT have a coffee maker and because breakfast does not start until 7:00 AM no coffee was available. The front desk offered to bring hot water and INSTANT coffee if we wanted it earlier than 7. There is no turn-down service which would be expected from a hotel of this class. If you’re on the lower floors facing the river the view is nice but doesn’t make it from the noise of the crowds on the street. The breakfast is sub par and I would avoid it unless it’s free. The hotel staff were polite but not overly friendly. Again, very surprising considering the level of this hotel. The age of the hotel was again reflected in the elevator operation. Very, very slow to the point you’re better off using stairs. The only upsides of this hotel is the rooftop bar which has amazing views but the drink prices are very expensive when compared to Florence pricing. The location is also good but be prepared for lots of noise because of the proximity of the busy street. One final note, when we checked out for an early flight we asked if we could somehow get coffee and were told no because it was before 7. We happened to see that the breakfast area was prepping to open so we asked the “manager” if he could get us some because it looked like they were getting ready. He reluctantly agreed but suggested we TIP him for his efforts (which we did) even though our room rate included breakfast. Overall this hotel is not as advertised and the room pictures are very misleading. I definitely would not recommend as there are many nicer options in the same price range. Lastly, when we checked out the front desk didn’t ask anything about how our stay was which pretty much summaries the attitude of the staff.
