Classic and Elegant Style
Loved this hotel. The location could not have been better with it being very central to Florence. The hotel oozes old style class with an authentic Italian style. The concierge team were superb with their recommendations being perfect. We’ll definitely return to the Bernini when next in Florence.

We stayed for 5 nights at the Bernini recently. Cannot fault it and the service was amazing. Every single staff member, regardless of their role, were efficient, professional and very happy to help. The hotel is in a fabulous location in the heart of Florence city and I loved walking around the corner each night to the Piazza della Signoria. I loved the way all the tourists were taking photos of the entrance to this hotel! The decor on the inside doesn’t disappoint. I cannot fault this hotel and definitely would stay here again next time I visit Florence.

This hotel is very central to a lot of the tourist areas. It’s behind the palace and Uffizi but out of the main tourist square, which was perfect for what we needed.
Staff were attentive and helpful. The lobby of the hotel was comfortable with a bar to the end.
We had a ‘Classic’ room on the third floor. Some of the reviews have said the rooms are small with no air con. I was pleasantly surprised by the size and adequate for the price we paid - although very dark where we had to have the light on all the time.
We had a comfortable king sized bed and the bathroom was a reasonable size with toiletries, bath robes and slippers.
Mini bar (for a price), tea and coffee making facilitates were available in the room and replenished daily. Coffee machine would have been nice considering it’s supposed to be a 5star.
There was a turn down service in the evening. The aircon worked well and welcomed after a day in the sunshine.
Breakfast was included which was the usual Buffett style - nothing outstanding. At a cost other breakfast items could be ordered (poached eggs for example). Table service for drinks etc and some hot options. Staff attentive and hard working.
We were pleased with the hotel but I would not consider to be a 5star. Our window faced out into a dirty courtyard with no view at all. There were signs of wear and tear in the hotel and areas that needed rejuvenating (carpets etc) however don’t let that put your off as this is a good hotel in a convenient great location.
City tax is an additional £8 per person, per night payable on checkout.
Top tip - we contacted the concierge about a taxi to and from the hotel. We were quoted at €260 for the return trip. The tram from the airport to the centre is €1.70 and a 10 min walk, or there is a taxi rank where there is always someone available outside at the end of the road for €40. Not a complaint, but just to make others aware of the price difference.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Florence. Friendly staff, comfortable bedroom with high quality bed linen. The bar area is lovely and a great place to chill with a cocktail (or 2!) I would highly recommend and will definitely be back! Thank you
While the property is beautiful and centrally located, for the price per night, the housekeeping was lackluster! I was shocked. We came back to the room at 2:30pm and it still hadn't been made up. When I called to have it cleaned, it was half a job. Very disappointing. Also,...

When I called to have it cleaned, it was half a job. Very disappointing. Also, the room needs updating. Some walls were outright dirty. On the bright side, the breakfast buffet was outstanding! The front desk and wait staff were excellent! Overall, I was disappointed in the overall room presentation and housekeeping time. It's a lot of money! It should be perfect!

Beautiful Hotel, centrally located such that we were able to walk to all historical venues. High intention to details and guest comfort. We included the breakfast which was a wonderful way to start the day. We also recommend the court yard on the 5th floor.

We stayed for two nights and wish we had booked for another.
The staff were so good, every single person made our stay so welcoming.
The location is perfect, right in the middle but limited noise from the streets nearby.
We had a standard room which was small but for two nights, not a problem. Bed was really comfy and they supplied robes, slippers etc.
We were given a free bottle of Chianti in a voucher on arrival so enjoyed that on our last night. Such a nice touch.
We had breakfast included but only had it the once. It was fine but a bit limited so if you prefer some freshly made croissants and a big decent coffee, would suggest not including it and eating in one of the many places nearby.
We would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I recently stayed 4 nights in this lovely hotel, which has the most amazing staff. The hotel is in the centre with easy walking to the sights and local restaurants, and about a €35 taxi trip from the airport.
We were in room 518 ,which despite some renovations going on , was lovely and quiet , with views over the roof tops of Florence. The ambiance of the hotel is just lovely.
Everything you could want was in the bedroom and it was so clean. Wonderful soft fluffy towels and immaculate linens. With a lovely evening turn down with chocolates.
We had breakfast included and we could not fault it, plenty of tasty options, we loved the staff in the breakfast room, they were so happy to help and constantly refilling.
We had a couple of drinks in the bar in the evenings before going out, and must say for a 5 * hotel the drinks were very reasonable priced.
The only thing I think we could fault is there wasn’t a price list in the room for the mini bar! On arrival our lady concierge who showed us to our room opened the door to where the mini bar and safe was and said this is complimentary, however on our check out she must have just meant the safe was complementary as we were presented with the mini bar bill!
We however just paid it as we had had such a lovely time we didn’t want to spoil it.
We would certainly come back should we revisit Florence and would fully recommend this beautiful hotel.

The location is absolutely amazing. Bernini Palace is centrally located and a very short walk to all of the major sites. Restaurants, gelato, and any shop you need is a short walk.
Breakfast on site is a big win, the rooms are a perfect size - clean, comfortable, and quiet. The front desk was a tremendous help with suggestions on dining and other things we needed a local's advice on.
The hotel bar and restaurant is a great size and super convenient as well.

The Bernini Palace is the ideal place to stay in Florence. It is located within easy walking distance of the Duomo, the Uffizi, and the Academia (David). It is immaculately clean and the staff are all courteous and helpful. The rooms are a little small, but that's pretty much the deal all over Italy. If I could offer just one suggestion to ALL hotels in Italy, it would be to lose the bidet and add that 18 inches of extra space to the shower. But, again, that's all of them. But the Bernini Palace truly feels like an upscale hotel because that's exactly what it is. Highly recommend!

Best place to stay in Florence-Hotel Bernini

My husband and I have had the pleasure to stay in beautiful hotels in different countries and major cities over the years, many of which left us with unforgettable memories. Our experiences in Florence as guests of the Bernini Palace hotel though gave a new standard to five star hospitality that formed the cossetted foundation of our time in Florence, moving between celestial and earthly delights. From before we arrived in Italy we were being thought about and taken care of by the Bernini. My husband was contacted in advance of a potential taxi strike in the city, which could have started out our trip in disarray.
Instead, they arranged for a black Mercedes van to meet us at the Florence airport and spirit us safely to the waiting arms of Palazzo Bernini, where we met the first of a constellation of men and women, without whom the most beautiful surroundings would have been but an empty shell. They are carefully chosen, beautifully trained, and experienced in the art and craft of hospitality.
Our room was an exquisite jewel box of classical and baroque details, where every comfort was thought of, and the simplest things were elevated with beauty. The bath was a floor to ceiling white marble box of cool modern-informed classicism, scented with the haunting scent of bitter orange and herbs emanating from the fine Culti Milano toiletries generously provided, and which continued lingering on in the atmosphere of the halls from large stile diffusers, creating a sensual continuity of space.
In the morning, you alight down the beautiful old wrought iron staircase or a marble ornamented lift down to the large classically designed breakfast room, with its baroque painted ceiling and chairs upholstered in the coral pink of the lining of cockle shells, to be warmed by the graciousness of the serving staff and the opulence of the delicious sweet and savory offerings laid out for the guests to choose from. I would add that both their bar that serves light fare and their intimate restaurant are also excellent.
As if you are not already intoxicated with the many pleasures of the Bernini Palace, they ply you with the most delicious chocolates, left in your room every night, so that when you return home you will want to continue the ritual of ‘un piccolo dolcetto’ late at night or in the early morning. Some even gave us luxurious comfort on our plane flight back home. In all, the wonderful people of Palazzo Bernini will see to your comfort like you are something between a cherished bambini and a Medici. Their grace and generosity is a trademark. Mille Grazie to everyone there for all that you do. We plan to return to Florence in the near future, and of course, what we playfully call ‘our piazza’ and ‘our palazzo’.

Our room was beautiful, quiet, and well-appointed, blending historic charm with modern comforts. The highlight, though, was the buffet breakfast in the stunning Sala Parlamento—a room rich in history and elegance. The food was plentiful and delicious, and the caffè Americano was the best we had during our entire trip!
This hotel exceeded all expectations. Highly recommended—we can’t wait to return!

The pillows are extremely flat and the mattress is hard as the floor. The showers are extremely small. I could not turn without bumping into the wall. The breakfast was not very good as far as quality or selection. I stayed at the St Regis in Rome several nights before and my standard might be high because the St Regis was perfect. For the money, I would not stay here again at all.
