Beautiful hotel in the perfect location. We booked all inclusive with an upgraded room. On arrival we further upgraded to Privilege Level.
We felt that the Privilege Level suited us better.
We ate at the A La Carte restaurant every night so cannot comment on the buffet. We used the Privilege area at the pool so cannot comment on the main area.
We enjoyed our time at the hotel.

Reception staff are the face of the hotel and as such are really important. Our reception was cold and detached. We could have been wanting to stay here a month but she didn’t care at all. We were given no directions to get to the pool bar for a coffee.
We are choosing not to stay at this hotel in the future because of the ‘don’t care’ attitude.

Lovely 2 weeks at Timanfaya. Rooms, food, pool and entertainment team created a great holiday. Busy but well run hotel. Quiet spot but short walk to busier areas or out to the lighthouse or local extinct volcano. Sheltered beach nearby. Would certainly recommend this hotel and be happy to return.
First Class Experience Throughout. Already booked for December 2025 !

Tremendous weather throughout both holidays was perfect, sunshine (22/24 degrees)
The ambience, our bedroom, the food, service, and wonderful staff in all departments were first class ambassadors for the hotel and H10. Entertainment in the Piano Bar or Cabaret Bar was superb and plenty to do or just relax. Sandy beach 100 yards away from top corner of resort.
Highly recommended

Great location, great food, great service and excellent entertain. Food and service in the Kasbar restaurant is exceptional. Hotel and gardens are very well maintained. Great for walks to Playa Blanca or the lighthouse with no cars. So good we have booked to go back next year.
A hotel that has an attention to detail and makes your stay feel special.

This was our first visit to this hotel and also to an H10 for many years and we would thoroughly recommend both. We visited for 6 nights, half board, Privileged. We were greeted with a glass of cava and helpful staff. Our room looked out on the sea and pool, stunning views. The beds are comfortable with a choice of pillows. There are a few drinks and snacks to start you off in the fridge. There are beach towels provided and ample shampoo, shower gel and conditioner to save on your packing. On meals although we were staying Privileged we like the choice of the buffet breakfast so ate there, great choice. Evenings we did two nights in the Kasbah which we booked through the app but mainly ate in the buffet restaurant for the same reason. Both had great service, the Kasbah did feel special and we had a lovely time but as a vegetarian I couldn’t have eaten there every night. There are lots of lovely spaces around the hotel so make sure you explore it, and a cute group of well looked after cats (and hedgehog). The Privileged area has a great selection of drinks including branded spirits, mixers, a variety of wine and lager. It also had nibbles and a water machine. You just help yourself, we used it every day and for us worked well with our half board as we are often out in the day. We went for long walks everyday in both directions, there is lots to see. There is a beach 2 mins to the left and I swam most days, be warned the tide comes in quite quick! We walked to the market on Wednesday at Marina Rubicon, it took about 50 mins and had lots to see. The hotel has beautiful views, sunsets and setting but finally I just want to mention the staff, particularly those that look after your room and the painters who were working in the corridor, they were always so warm and friendly and the bedtime chocolate was a lovely touch 😀

Stayed for 10 nights after reading the reviews. The room we had was a standard room and was lovely. We didn't pay for a sea view but had a beautiful view of the sea and the mountain. Sunbeds are plentyful at anytime of the day. The food is of good standard and quality. The hotel is spotless with all the staff working hard to make your stay a pleasant holiday. The only one negative is that people are allowed to smoke on the sunbeds so everyone around them gets it. Previous hotels I've stayed at there was designated areas for the smokers. Perhaps this is something the hotel could adopt and make the pool area a better place. This was our first time at this hotel and enjoyed our stay.

The fantastic Timanfaya Hotel

We loved everything about this fabulous hotel 💕 .... our room, the food, the entertainment and the staff were all first class.
The grounds were very well maintained with plenty of sunbeds.
We loved it so much we are returning next month in April and again in September ... counting the days ☺️

We have just spent ten nights at the hotel and loved it.
From arrival to departure everything was great. The food was varied, hot and plentiful. No sooner were dishes running low than they were replenished. The restaurant staff were friendly and very efficient. In fact, all the staff across the whole hotel were brilliant.
Special mention to the animation team - Sophie ( who remembered our names from the first introduction), Samuel and Christina. They were friendly without being pushy and made everyone feel welcome in all the activities. Favourite evening entertainments were the Rubber Soul Band, the Magic Show and the Soul Diva.
Our room was spacious and airy and kept spotlessly clean.
We never had a problem finding a Sun lounger and liked that they were spread out in a number of smaller areas so it never felt regimented.
This was our first time here and we are already hoping to return.
It was nice to be greeted by Jose at the Welcome Party on the first morning - it made us feel that we would be well looked after - and we were!

This was our third visit to this lovely hotel.
We arrived late after a delayed flight but were quickly through checkin and in our room. We requested a room on level 1 and this is what we got. The rooms are large with an enormous comfy bed, a well equipped bathroom and generous sized balcony.
Most days we sat by the pool, joined in activities when we wanted to (Sophie was lovely) and just chilled.
The hotel is well situated for walking in either direction along the promenade.
We found the food in the buffet restaurant to be great. There was plenty of variety and always something we enjoyed. We also found a table quickly were served with drinks promptly.
The entertainment each evening was varied and we particularly enjoyed Maritza, Elvis and Blockbuster. We thought these were of a very high standard for hotel entertainment.
Another wonderful holiday and I am sure we will be back again before too long.

We had a really enjoyable time at the Timanfaya Palace.
We are a well travelled couple and I can honestly say the morning breakfast buffet was the best we've ever had!
One slight downside was the evening buffet, much of the food was cold, so much so that there was a microwave placed for customer use.
This isn't really acceptable!
However this is just one small criticism in what was a fabulous week away. The room on the 5th floor with a lovely sea view, all the staff always pleasant and helpful, the cleaning team are to be praised, the drinks package and entertainment very enjoyable, something for everyone.
I can highly recommend Timanfaya Palace and will definitely be returning.
Thank you Team Timanfaya Palace.

For us this is our 2nd visit. We said we wouldn't return after the 1st visit but we enjoyed the food, drinks and location and wanted some winter sun. So we booked again.
This time we upgraded to Privilege as we don't enjoy the buffet experience.
We really want to be able to love this place (as others do, so many people return year after year). But for us it falls short.
We paid for what we consider not a cheap upgrade which offers a dedicated check in desk. When we checked in the desk was not manned so we had to wait (along with 2 other couples) while everyone else who hadn't upgraded checked in before us. This may be a small thing but don't offer it if you aren't going to deliver. It tainted the initial experience.
The check in staff would not make eye contact but eventually came over after about 10 minutes after one of the other couples complained.
We were advised Natalia was on her break and if we had an issue take it up with Natalia when she gets back.
They know roughly what time people are arriving. Perhaps take your break when you aren't expecting guests?
Staff on reception were generally not very smiley or particularly friendly in our experience and yes we do make an effort to smile and be friendly ourselves.
We then did not have a great night's sleep as the air-conditioning was dripping on to the floor all night.
These things happen but an apology would have been nice.
We reported this to Natalia in the morning. No I'm sorry to hear this. Simply I need your room number please so I can report it to maintenance.
In fairness the air con was fixed when we got back to the room in the evening.
Staff at the pool bar etc were equally as disengaged hardly any smiles etc. Apart from Chris and the older man who wore the tie. Both were friendly.
Staff in the kasbah restaurant were always friendly and gave a smile and the food was always good in the kasbah. Albeit a little repetitive.
We didn't find much atmosphere at the pool. No pool music etc but we appreciate that this is personal preference. For us some low key background music would have been welcome at least at one of the pools.
The hotel inside is a little tired. Outside spaces are lovely.
Outside pools are freezing but this didn't stop me from getting in.
As a couple we are not complainers. We want to go on holiday and enjoy everything. We don't expect perfection but we do appreciate a smile!
Would we return a 3rd time?
The hotel has many positives but falls short for us. Who knows.
No doubt Jose (the manager) will respond shortly 😅

We’ve actually lost count but must be 20 visits in 9 years now, mainly because of the superb service provided by the lovely staff.
We have noticed a couple of minor alterations, there doesn’t seem to be the same quantity of dishes put out at the evening buffet which sometimes leads to shortages and on our last night witnessed an irate guest shouting at a chef because the rice dish was empty( very unpleasant man🤡) The staff work really hard and deserve nothing but credit.
Missed a few staff on this visit due to holidays and illness and I wish those members of staff a speedy recovery and will look forward to catching up with them in November.
I did call in on Jose in his office to clarify what happens with the AI guests on the day of departure, before you had your wristbands scanned you could use all the facilities until your departure ( Mainly late flights) Now you need to notify the reception when you check out at 12pm that you wish to carry on using the AI and they will reprogram your wristband with a virtual room number up to a maximum of 6 hours I believe.
Thanks again for a lovely stay and will be back in November. Gracias.

We chose Timanfaya this year for our 3 week February get away.
Overall we have been very pleased that we did , although the hotel is showing it age in a few places! It all adds to its charm .The only blot on our stay is we lost the internet and English tv in our room so missed a few big sport events. which I understand was out of the control of the Hotel .But as long as the Hotel keep the few sunbeds with soft cushions , for my old back !! near the Tennis court for non privileged guests, I am sure we will keep returning!
The thing that makes this hotel stand out from the others we have stayed at on the island is obviously its fantastic location and sunsets to die for and views over the ocean, the heated swimming pool ,but also how hard the staff work . We would like to pick out a few of the stars for special mention. Hector in Reception for his helpfulness . Nerea the waitress in the bar ,whose smile always makes you happy . Matea and Sophie who are the true spirit of the hotel and, without being rude, the large lady whose name we don't know who worked so hard behind the servery frying the eggs etc and Mickey Mouse pancake man!
We'd just like to add a couple of suggestions:
A courtesy bus to and from the Rubicon marina now that taxis are almost non existent and in high demand, would be a good facility . With a fare of x euros?
And when the internet and TVs go down a general, e mail to everyone to advise (as you do with reserving sunbeds). Would save annoyance and frustration!) . Book with confidence .you could do a lot worse on the island . Thanks Jose .

The staff at H10 Timanfaya are the most helpful, friendly and attentive we have come across in any hotel. The food is excellent with themed evening meals every day. There are always lots of spare sunloungers available and ramps make easy access to all areas of the extensive grounds.

Holiday (2 weeks) here in February, enjoyed our stay.
Negatives :- food in restaurant could have been hotter, but it is a large hotel and the service is good with plenty of choice.
Early morning trolleys in corridors were noisy (6-7 am).
Positives:- good service, enough staff to cater for all guests.
Special mention to the Animation team who work hard to provide great activities and entertainment.
Matea and Samuel were excellent in their fitness classes roles, I attended most days.
We thoroughly enjoyed The Rubber Soul Band too in the evening entertainment.
Hotel location is ideal for us - having stayed in many of Lanzarote’s resorts, Playa Blanca suits us best. We are able to walk to most places or catch the bus.

Stayed here as a couple in February after reading the 5* reviews on TA. All in all a great week. Good selection of food. Incidently, I can't understand the constant focus on bacon as the acid test of the gastronomic experience. If I'm fixated with bacon I'll stay home & go to a truckstop on the side of the A47 ! What I was impressed with was the selection of fresh fish cooked to order: tuna, swordfish, perch, cod, sea bream etc etc. Superb. Lunch in the restaurant was a treat - less choice but not as busy - again replete with a selection of well executed dishes. The bedroom was fantastic. We booked via TUI and noting the comments about the garden rooms I contacted the hotel to upgrade to sea view: a very smooth process. As the GM Jose often comments here: if you want the top end experience you have to pay for it!! Again excellent AI drinks package served by attentive and intelligent staff. Cardenal Mendoza brandy. Johnnie Walker black label scotch etc. Mike's coffee shop is also a pleasant spot and Lolly who runs it is so friendly and cheerful. To sum up, this is cracking value for money and the management team know what they are doing; we'll be back.

Check in was very quick and having emailed the hotel we were given a room in the area requested. You were welcomed to the hotel with a glass of Cava. This was our third visit to this hotel.
The bedroom was very spacious with a large double bed and a choice of pillows. The bathroom had a walk in shower and again plenty of space to move around.
We were welcomed in our room with some chocolates and a chilled bottle of Cava. A nice way to be greeted back.
The hotel has a no reservation of sun beds before 9.30am and this was strictly applied. There really was no need to rush for sun beds as the hotel grounds are vast and despite the hotel being full there were always plenty of empty sun beds.
Everyone wears a wrist band which opens your bedroom door and identifies if you are half board or AI, etc. the wrist band also opens the perimeter gate near the putting area but the main gate to the promenade was left wide open all day - perhaps not such a good security option!
The restaurants offer great choice of food. The buffet restaurant had an amazing wide choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You could also have lunch at the restaurant by the swimming pool. The al carte restaurant can be used once during your stay if you are on all inclusive. Our meal was well presented and of good quality. A minor criticism of the Kasbah restaurant was that the wall opposite as you go in was made up of small wooden blocks which are covered in dust [see photo] .
Entertainment each evening was good with the night that Elvis was on brilliant and thoroughly enjoyed by all.
The piano bar was a great place to enjoy a cocktail or drink where you could chat to other guests whilst listening to a pianist or someone playing a guitar.
Overall, a first class hotel with friendly staff eager to help serve you. It is not surprising that folk keep returning to this well run hotel. We can’t wait to return.

My wife and I stayed at the Timanfaya Palace for 10 days in March 2025. We have visited this hotel several times previously and like it a lot. It is in a good location, right on the seafront with good walks in either direction.
We visit a number of four star hotels each year, and this is among the best of them. The food is slightly better here than at other H 10 hotels we visit and the staff look after us very well. We felt that the restaurant service was particularly good this year and the food even better than on previous visits. Well done to our waitress Sandra who seemed to anticipate everything we wanted before we even knew ourselves! We stayed on half board and enjoyed a morning glass of Cava and a small shot before dinner each evening, both FOC.
We paid extra for a room with a sea view and enjoyed it a lot. Our only criticism of the room would be that there were not a lot of drawers although the wardrobe was well equipped with shelves.
The pool area is magnificent, very large and we could always get a sunbed, even though the hotel was almost full. The sunbeds are well spaced with plenty of room for moving around and plenty of umbrellas if you need one.
My wife and I both enjoyed the daytime activities (Pilates, aqua aerobics, mini golf etc.) and the evening entertainment was better than we find at many other hotels, with UK based tribute acts on many of the evenings. We particularly enjoyed the Elvis tribute, the ABBA tribute and Gentlemen on the road who were most amusing.
Well done to all of the staff who contributed to a most enjoyable break.

This is our third visit to the Timanfaya Palace. It’s a great hotel. This time the entertainment shows and food were even better. The waiting staff in the restaurant were world class. A big thank you to Sandra and Fran for looking after us and everyone else so brilliantly. Very caring, thoughtful and so speedy!! The exercise team were good too. No days off and a stretching/yoga/pilates session every day. Also aqua fit in the heated pool. Sophie did wonderful aqua Zumba style classes. They should film her in action and use it for training new staff! She was also good at the stretching and yoga classes. As was Samuel. Thanks for a great holiday.
