Really like this hotel with traditional vibes. Friendly and serviceminded staff, nice bar and good comfort in the room. A little bit ”empty” feeling in the room, not so cosy. Nice bed and bathroom. Ok breakfast, much better last time I was here. A little question, why do you start to vacuum the café directly after breakfast is over. We were quite a lot of guests still sitting there finishing our coffee. Not so cosy with that sound.

My wife and I decided to visit Oslo for New Year’s Eve and looked at nice hotels near the city square and came across the Grand Hotel in Oslo, naturally we booked due to the aesthetic and rating but failed to read the reviews before booking, there is no service, no one to help you with your bags or even greet you when you enter but that wasn’t the worst was the room a standard room, it was the worst that I had ever seen for a 5 star room, small, no bathrobes, no way to control temperature. We could barely sleep because it was just too hot inside! We lasted 1 night and decided we couldn’t stay. You have been warned.

Scandic uses the name Grand hotel to make a LOT of money. We paid NOK 10,000. turn down service was non-existent, even though we had paid for it. The waiter spilled the champagne on my wife. We got 20 percent off the drink. I had to negotiate a solution so they washed her dress afterwards. Incredible... Here you pay to go in and out of the door at the Grand Hotel. You get just as much for your money to stay at Scandic Karl Johan or Scandic

Great location, the service was good, though I would've liked it if the person in the entrance opened the door for my wife when she was carrying her luggage, the front desk was really helpful and always had a smile, really good room, clean and spacious, recommended.

I had a very enjoyable stay and was impressed by the friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommend!

We had a beautiful room with small balcony onto the park. Unfortunately, the bath was tiny, the towels actually bigger than the space. We coped. Breakfast buffet hectic and delicious. Best pastries in Norway. The staff were very accommodating, carried our bags to the room. Be assured it is all...

This stay was much better than last time. Great first impression that the room was available early. Lovely Junior suite with view. Bonus with hottub after a 20 km training walk. Parked in the garage, great service. Only issue was the headwaiter/host for breakfast. She was rude, not welcoming and...

Parked in the garage, great service. Only issue was the headwaiter/host for breakfast. She was rude, not welcoming and not a good fit for the service industry. I had ordered some pancakes for my wife(gluten and lactosefree) Got then from the chef, then suddenly the headwaiter/host came and grabbed them from my hand and said these were not for me. I tried to explain that I ordered it from the chef, the chef said the same. But still she took them, was angry with me and yelled at the chef. She told me that I had to understand that there was an more important guest that needed them before us and that we had to wait. I work in the industry and you NEVER treat guests like this. She made us feel 2nd and if a plate of food has been at a table or in a persons hand you should never give this to another guest. The chef looked really uncomfortable and did not appreciate this interaction The host/headwaiter should not work with guests
