Reviews of Creta Maris Resort
This was our second time visiting Creta Maris as the experience has always been amazing. The food and facilities were outstanding and the staff so friendly and helpful! The best resort we have ever visited and have already booked for this year!

Whilst searching for holidays we stumbled across this resort, read the reviews, checked out photos and booked it. Wow! A holiday we won’t forget. As a couple going abroad on holiday together for first time creta Maris has provided us with a lifetime of magical memories.
We arrived after midnight but this wasn’t a problem and got checked in. The place is huge and we were took up on a buggy to our room - Huge room, Mountain View’s . Everything is immaculate and the cleaners and staff work tirelessly with a smile and always saying hello. The food, wow! Make sure you download the app and book your time slot to get the full experience of each restaurant. We were blown away by the presentation, quality of food. Restaurants are dotted around all over the resort, hidden in little makeshift villages or down beside the sea for the perfect sunsets.
Pools, we lost count how many there are. We went to the main pool once to sunbathe and had ice cream and gyros and the best freshly squeezed smoothies but there is a huge restaurant with the best all inclusive you’ve ever saw in your life. Unbelievable choice.
On a Tuesday be sure to check out the market right at the top of the resort which is where we were staying. Fab gifts, homemade jewellery, my partner got a bracelet made there and then from a lovely guy called John.
I could go on and on about it this resort but instead I’m going to post some pics and let you see for yourself from someone who’s been there.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely time at Creta Maris early July.
-The resort is massive, so much to see and do (and very clean!) You get given a map on arrival. There is also maps around the resort. We had great service from staff who were very hard working.
-Loads of pools to choose from. The main pool gets very busy, with people reserving sunbeds with towels, however this didn’t bother us as we actually preferred some of the other pools. The main pool joins straight onto the beach which has lots of beds but also very busy. All pools are freshwater (we found a lot of pools in Crete are salt water which we didn’t want)
-Food is great.
3 buffets (2 become reservation only for dinner)
All the a la cartes were lovely however you need to book the day before to avoid disappointment. Booking does go up to 3pm on the day however some are more popular than others. You can book with the host infront of the enomy buffet or on the app.
Small late night buffet in enomy (10:30pm-12am)
For snacks outside of meal times there is the food arcade (gyros, ice cream, juice bar) , kourites pool bar which does crepes and ice cream and the waterpark bar which does burgers, chicken nuggets etc.
We also enjoyed all the bars- especially the adults only.
-Had the ice glow facial in the spa with Maria which was lovely. The spa staff are very friendly and approachable without being pushy.
-The Creta Maris app is very useful. It tells you all the activities, restaurants, map, spa treatments. You would probably miss some of the activities without this as there’s no announcement and not everything is in sight due to the size of the resort. Good to look at before you go as it shows you what the hotel has to offer!
-Sports centre where you can ask for the sports equipment and use the facilities I believe from 8am-8pm
-Evening entertainment was a bit hit or miss. The DJ night was fun for all ages however. Would have been better if they had kids entertainment earlier in the evening then followed by some adults entertainment. This would also help with the lack of seating as some people had to stand. Some of the nights are just dancers. Could do with some speaking and some comedy!
-We had a lovely room in the main part of the hotel. Big balcony looking over the mountains. Cleaned every day.
-There are mostly families that go to this hotel. However as a young couple this did not bother us but it’s something to think of if you’re on holiday to socialise.

What a beautiful hotel. From start to finish our stay here was fantastic. The reception team were always incredibly helpful and welcoming. We didn’t like the first room we were given, they put us in a family room which was huge but unfortunately my husband couldn’t stand upright under the shower as it was in the bath. We were moved to a room with just a shower two hours after we asked and it was perfect. All the restaurants were amazing especially the a la cartes. The food in the a la carte restaurants was fantastic as were all the waiting staff. The only issue is booking a restaurant which you have to do via the app or a staff member who sits by the main breakfast restaurant and this can only been done from 7.30 am for the following night. The hotel and grounds is kept incredibly clean and tidy at all times. All the staff are friendly, helpful, polite and well presented. The snack bars are a brilliant asset especially if you have hungry children! Or a hungry husband! I especially enjoyed the aperol spritz bar! I just wish they sold the snacks that they served with the drinks in the onsite supermarket! I would highly recommend this hotel as there is so much to do and lots of different areas to sit and enjoy the sunshine.

We stayed at Creta Maris resort for 14 days. We extremely enjoyed our stay. It is a very big resort but at no stage we felt the resort was very crowded. There were 3 restaurants one could have breakfast and lunch at, apart from pool bars and food courts and 6 other restaurants where one can have dinner at. Apart from the main restaurant the others have to be booked a day or by 3pm on the day.
What impressed us about all the restaurants and their menu was how clearly all items were labelled. We are vegetarians and at the main restaurant there was a vegetarian/vegan counter, but food items at all other counters were clearly labelled. All other a la carte restaurants had vegetarian/vegan and gluten free menus. they all catered for people who did not have cows milk.
We were also very impressed that the resort was step free for families with young child on a stroller, people in wheel chairs or people with limited mobility. if one wanted to go to the waterpark, gym, indoor pool , restaurants not near the main part of the resort, the buggy drivers were very happy to take and bring you back.
I would like to specially thank Konstantina, the reservation agent. We were communicating before my trip about my special needs and dietary requirements. She met all my requirements and more. Dimitra helped us to book the other restaurants. Eleni with her broad smile was always ready to welcome everyone at the main restaurant. George, Maria and super charming Stella at the main restaurant were always ready to serve us. Stella knew exactly which drinks we liked and only asked if we would like the same drinks. Ionna and Maria in the food court served us always with a smile, hand made ice creams, fruit juices or smoothies..
Theofanis at Pithos restaurant welcomed us both times and always asking us how he or his team can make our dinner a pleasant experience. The buggy drivers Mario and his team were very polite and calmly waiting for us to get in and off the buggies and if they saw us ready to get back to main hotel when on other jobs, always asked us to wait or even reverse to take us. Anne our room maiden cleaned our room and always asked us if all was fine and if we needed anything.

10 night stay booked with Tui from 23.09 to 04.10 on an all inclusive package in a deluxe double room with sea view and balcony.
We were accommodated in the Greek village style bungalows area of the resort (964B) close to the bungalows pool and the Steki Bar.
The room was a very good space with a large bathroom, ample wardrobe space, a large comfortable double bed (essentially two large singles pushed together), sitting area and a small balcony. If I have a criticism of the room we booked a sea view, in my opinion we had a side sea view.
The hotel is vast with excellent facilities throughout although we felt blessed to be in the bungalows area which is just lovely with winding paths dotted with trees, flowering bushes and flower pots. The bougainvillea is outstanding.
As AI customers we were entitled to use the a la carte restaurants at no additional cost. They are all first class with tasty and varied menus. The salads in particular are so fresh and enjoyable. The Ebony buffet restaurant offers great food and outdoor eating areas but can be busy, although queues are small and seats are always available. We used the Arismari restaurant for our buffet breakfast, which is quieter.
The bars are very good with AI customers able to enjoy an extensive cocktail menu in addition to other cold and hot beverages. If you don’t like smoking remember it’s allowed in Greece outdoors in bars and restaurants.
What makes Creta Maris exceptional is the hard working staff. They seem to take pride in service, which is prompt, pleasant and genuinely friendly.
I’m not usually a return to the same place kind of customer but Creta Maris challenges this notion. We would willingly return.

Fabulous stay.
Arrived late offered food and drinks
Room large, modern, clean and beds comfy.
Toiletries provided and safe and mini bar included.
All staff super efficient and friendly, special mention to Stella in buffet restaurant.
Food and drinks menu and quality very high.
There are five al a cartes to use once per stay free of charge. We only visited two, Mademi and Palatia and both were really good. Our steaks were cooked exactly as we ordered.
Loads of pools dotted around the large village style complex, some busy some very quiet. Something for everyone!
Right on beack about 300m from marina and beachfront strip with loads of restaurants, bars and a few clubs. Food and drinks cheap
outside hotel 500ml beer 3.5 euros and two cocktails for 10 euros.
Magners cider and Guiness on draft 6 ehros each.
Recommend the pornstar .artin and live in passion cocktails at the hotel.
Easy to get a sunbed at any time of day around main pools but beach does get busy.
Lifeguard on beach and water safe to swim in as shallow for quite a distance and no waves.
Only criticism is ground around pool area is gravely and hard to walk on without shoes, but its not a big deal.
No long queues at beach bars and never a long wait for waiter/waitress service in other bars.
Fab aquapark on site and there are also the usual tennis, basketball courts and mini golf.
On site cinema and amphitheatre.
The conference centre even has its oen helipad.
Didnt take part in any of the many activities or watch the shows.
Caught five minutes of the greek show whilst eating dinner and heard singers when on the terrance and they looked and sounded ok.
Hotel is in a great spot to walk into Hersonnisos and can get bus every half hour from no 19 stop (10 min walk from hotel) to Heraklion which takes about 45 mins and costs 3.5 euros each way.
Recommend you visits there is loads to see.
Same bus in opposite direction takes you to Stallis, Malia and Agious Nikolaus.
Weather been amazing for first week in October, high 20s to 31 and night time lows of about 22 so no jacket needed.
Gyros, juice and ice cream stations a nice touch for light snacks.
Late departure room available for a shower, with lockers to store change of clothes. No need to book.
All in a a large complex but never feels over busy or overcrowded.
We have had an amazing time and would return in a heartbeat!
Hope to visit again soon.

Wonderful spa experience with Christina!
I had the most relaxing massage and facial of my life with Christina -- in fact I fell asleep for a few minutes! Thank you so much for the wonderful treatments and the calm atmosphere. I would recommend this to anyone, and the steam room was very pleasant as well.
