Good points: food was quite nice, beach nice and pool nice. Room comfortable however, a little tired. Bad points: arrived at the airport after a ten hour flight to get onto the VIP shuttle as promised by our tour operator. Unfortunately this doesn’t happen, you are huddled into a lounge (hot and sweaty) and we were made to wait an hour and 20 minutes before the bus left. I think the notion of having a free bar is supposed to keep people happy with that. Arrived at the hotel and wasn’t allowed to check in, hustled into the piano bar and given a speech and everyone is made to hand over their credit cards. From landing to getting to our room took 5 hours. Check out was equally as bad as the shuttle failed to collect us, excuses were made and another shuttle came 50 minutes late and then drove like a loonie to get us to the airport on time. Staff were extremely rude (not everyone but most). It’s advertised as having 6 restaurants however, on a Saturday night only the buffet was open. There is a great little pool and jacuzzi just behind the water sports area, however, the guys who work for the water sports used the jacuzzi for their own pleasure in between clients. The beach is nice but no security so dominated by the beach sellers who insist on singing to you and playing music for you even when you’re trying to sleep. Sadly nobody moved these people on making it difficult to relax.

Beautiful beach! There are so many reviews about this resort, I'll say the good ones are predominantly accurate. Things that we learned that we weren't expecting.... The drive from the airport is one and a half to 2 hours depending on the traffic. The roads are horrible and the drivers are scary. The resort is incredibly close to the highway so there's a lot of noise. This place is not for the early risers, breakfast doesn't start until 7:30! The bed is very comfortable, but the bathroom has a barn style door and so there's zero privacy for using it when your partner is in the room. One of the biggest surprises was that there was no bottled water! Most of the people there were on their fifth plush trip, I think it's worth checking out, we won't probably go back.

Annoying vendors, and beach chairs and pads are stained and in need of replacement. Plenty of shade under trees.. no umbrellas or huts. The staff is great. Friendly, well trained and working hard. Opposite of swept away, where service was inconsistent and downright non existent at times. Food is good. Some poor quality at the buffet. (Items not properly marked for allergies, some cold and tasteless dishes etc). The clientele is mixed. Some upscale.. others.. a little lower class. But hey.. no screaming kids. It aint the ritz.. but it was very nice.

My wife and I both agree that this is one of the most wonderful experiences we've encountered on a vacation. Everything was just amazing. Right off the bat after a very long and tedious day of travel we arrived just in time for an amazing beach dinner party. The food was delicious and varied with great entertainment. The same can be said for the food in all of their restaurants. The most appealing aspect for us was the size of the resort and how quaint and quiet it was. Extremely relaxing in all aspects. Everything is so easy to get to without walking forever. As all of the other reviews the beach is truly amazing as is the water. First time in a long time we could get into the water without stepping on rocks, no seaweed and no rough waves! The staff in every area and restaurant are very friendly and make you feel comfortable. I wish I would have written down all of the names to highlight, but one we do remember from being so kind and helpful from the breakfast buffet was Donna. She does everything with a smile every morning and is very helpful. We are so impressed that we've already booked our stay for next year. Can't wait!

If I may start with the conclusion, my verdict is: it's a good hotel, although there are areas for improvement and they should indeed be addressed. We stayed for 13 days in one of the hotel's best suites—a beachfront suite (6301, Block 6). If you choose this type of room, the second and third floors are the best options (we were fortunate to stay on the third floor). However, if you're on the first floor, you'll have less privacy as you're exposed to passersby, and the view is not as good. The downside is that you cannot choose your floor in advance, as it depends on room availability. If you end up in Block 9, which faces the nudist beach, your view will also be limited due to dense vegetation meant to provide discretion. This makes it hard to determine whether the most expensive rooms are truly worth the price. I highly recommend checking the hotel's map and studying the layout of the blocks before booking. You won’t find it on the official website, but a quick Google search should help. Lets begin with the PRO: -Size & Convenience: The hotel is small, and everything is close by, which is a great advantage. -Cleanliness: Overall, the cleanliness is of a high standard. Our room was spotless every day, with housekeeping coming twice daily. We put up the Do Not Disturb sign in the evening, so they stopped coming, but if you prefer the extra service, it’s available. The pool was also clean (though we never used it—see our beach comments), as it was the hotel's designated beach area, including most of the loungers. - Beach Loungers: The loungers come with a floating cushion that you can take into the sea—an amazing and fun feature! There are also small chairs that people bring into the water to sit with their feet submerged—fantastic! There are enough loungers for everyone. Of course, the typical all-inclusive colonizers still exist—the ones who claim front-row or shaded spots at 6 a.m.—but don’t worry, you’ll always find available loungers. At the pool (which we never used), it seemed a bit more challenging to get a spot. -The Beach: Simply breathtaking. We’re beach people, not pool people, and it was so beautiful that we never even dipped a toe in the pool. The water is calm, warm, and crystal clear, with just a light breeze. You can walk for about 3.5 km along the shoreline. Some people talk about the "7 Mile Beach", but that’s misleading—this hotel is in Bloody Bay, which is not connected to 7 Mile Beach. To get there, you’d need to take a taxi. At both ends of Bloody Bay, there are hotels that block access, so you cannot walk from one beach to the other. However, Bloody Bay itself has a lovely, walkable beach with charming local shops. There are beach vendors, but they are not overly intrusive. There are other hotels along the beach, but this hotel has one of the best access to the sea, with almost no seaweed. On the same stretch of sand, you'll find two RIU Hotels: the one closest to Couples (a family-friendly resort) has a decent beach, but the one at the far end of the bay is awful—you can’t even enter the water due to excessive seaweed. Also, next to Couples, there’s the Royalton—and my goodness, the music is so loud all day (until 11 p.m.) that we could hear it from our hotel. If that’s your thing, great—we will never pick such a noisy hotel. Our hotel was calm! - Restaurants: • OK: The Italian (Heliconia)/Beach Grill were decent. • Good: The Asian restaurant (Lychee) was enjoyable. • Outstanding: The Otaheite—a must-try! You need a reservation, but it’s worth it. • Disappointing: Cassava Terrace (especially for brunch). • Breakfast (Cassava Terrace): Not great—very repetitive and on par with cheaper all-inclusive resorts. There’s a self-service station with pizza, ice cream, nachos, and patties available all day at the beach grill—a very nice touch! The pizza was fantastic. The house wine was acceptable (and I am a wine lover), and you can order other wines for an additional charge. - Service: I was pleasantly surprised. I expected not a very good service, but it was actually very good!!!. While not everyone is constantly smiling, most staff members were friendly and efficient. One of the best aspects of the hotel is its no-tip policy. I’m tired of the so-called “great service” in places like Cuba, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, where staff are overly friendly, call you by name, and act affectionate—only because they want tips. The moment you stop tipping, the kindness disappears. Here, it’s different. Tipping is not expected. Instead, a percentage of the room rate is distributed among all employees, including those who don’t have direct contact with guests. -However, there are some things to improve, and I guess these MUST be improved to justify the price you are paying (higher than other hotels) CONS Arrival at the Airport Upon arriving at the airport, you go to the Couples Lounge—a nice spot where you can enjoy a drink while waiting for the hotel bus. However, when the employees took our luggage, they very directly told us: "Now we go to the bus... and you must tip the people carrying your luggage." It was not a suggestion—it was an order. Once at the bus, in 30ºC heat, the doors were closed, and we were forced to wait while the staff ensured that every guest tipped. Only after about 10 minutes, once they confirmed that everyone had “paid”, did they open the doors so we could enter the air-conditioned bus. A couple of tourists who arrived later with their luggage were told: "You now give tip!!!" The poor couple scrambled to find money to pay. 👉 Note: I personally did not tip because I found the attitude insulting, but all the other guests did. In a hotel with a no-tip policy, this behavior should be controlled. It creates a bad first impression and contradicts the hotel’s own rules. WiFi – Extremely Poor The WiFi was bad—it barely worked half of the time. Strangely, we could detect the WiFi from the Royalton hotel, which was password-protected, while the Couples resort had an open, unprotected network. I don’t understand why an expensive hotel doesn’t provide secure and high-quality WiFi, especially since guests need to scan a QR code to make reservations or request minibar items. Without reliable internet, these services become frustratingly difficult to use. In-Room Dining – False Advertisement? Our beachfront suite was supposed to include in-room dining, as advertised on the hotel’s website. However, no one informed us about it, there was no menu, and no way to order food from the room. Either this service does not actually exist, or it is extremely poorly organized (see below). Organization Issues There are clear organizational problems at the hotel. For example, one evening, the Italian restaurant had to close because an oven broke down. The issue was not resolved by the next day at lunch, which is understandable—it happens. However, there was no sign or notice at the restaurant entrance, so guests kept arriving and waiting, only to be individually told by staff (after waiting and waiting) that it was closed. 👉 A simple sign explaining the situation would have saved guests a lot of time and frustration. Another point: Cassava Terrace is usually a buffet for dinner, but not always. However, there’s no way to know in advance whether it will be a buffet or table service, as this is not indicated on the restaurant menu displayed throughout the resort. It would make sense to have fixed buffet nights and set table-service nights, or at the very least, clearly communicate this information. Why isn’t it specified in the materials provided upon arrival? Speaking of the information provided—it’s quite disappointing. A black-and-white photocopy with minimal details, and not even a resort map. It lacks essential information that guests need. It seems that no manager is actively supervising or interacting with guests to address problems and improve service. Employees appear to be left alone to handle everything as best they can. Room Design – Strange Layout We booked the most expensive and largest suite, and while it was a nice room, the bathroom design was quite odd. • The bathroom is very large, but it is separated from the room only by a folding door. • The toilet is inside the bathroom with almost no separation from the sink and shower. • The wardrobe is also inside the bathroom! This means that if one person is using the toilet, the other cannot access their clothes—a very awkward design choice. 💡 While this setup might be fine for an older couple, imagine a young couple who has just started dating—it could be quite uncomfortable! I honestly wonder who the architect was that designed this layout. Veggie Bar – Great Idea, Poor Hygiene The veggie bar is a fantastic concept. They prepare fresh sandwiches, wraps, salads, and smoothies on demand. However, the hygiene standards are alarming: • When making smoothies, the staff handles all fruits and vegetables with bare hands, then places them directly into the blender—no gloves, no utensils. • There are no disposable gloves or tongs being used for food preparation. ⚠️ If they don’t improve their hygiene practices, they are bound to have a serious health incident with multiple guests getting sick. CONCLUSIONS -A beautiful hotel with an exceptional beach, great overall food, and good service. In February, you can expect fantastic weather. -However, considering the hotel's high price, there are certain aspects that need improvement.

Couples Negril was an amazing experience. We arrived and were greeted with a glass of wine and a cold wipe. The food was excellent both the presentation and the quality and variety of the food was amazing. The pool was nice and the ocean what can I say its Negril beach. The entertainment was great nice variety of fitness classes and water aerobics and nightly entertainment. The excursions that were included were amazing. But the staff were kind and very happy nothing was ever an issue. We had a couples massage that was very nice I would highly recommend. I love the cats that live on the resort they are fixed and add a nice fix to cat lovers. I will definitely have to come back to visit the staff and bring cat treats. If you are looking for an amazing vacation you need to put this on your bucket list. Well done Couples Thank you for allowing us to spend a week with you I can see why so many people come back year after year.

The location of this resort is splendid. It has one of the best beaches I have been to. The water is calm, and crystal clear, there are no rocks to navigate as you walk out via a very gentle gradient into the water. The resort is not too big and every room has a nice view of gardens and most have at least a sliver of ocean as well. The food options were great, the activities were abundant, we loved all of the water toys, and we especially enjoyed the live music every day and Shamarie was a fantastic asset to the Entertainment team. We found that most couples that come here, return year after year and we can see why! There is so much to love about this resort!

Couples Negril represents reasonable value for a Caribbean Holiday and like many others we appreciated the friendly staff, beautiful gardens and wonderful beach. Our 2nd visit, again as requested in Block 5 which was quiet and with good sideways view of the sea. The only shortcomings were related to the rooms - still the same as our last visit and to be honest, very dated. Obviously you only spend a short time in the room but the bathroom facilities, decor, lighting, electrical sockets and storage are poor. For example awkward bedside lights and limited accessible power sockets. We understand they are trying to create a more Jamaican vibe but if claiming to be a 5 star resort (even by Jamaican standards) this needs addressing. Resort Plus points: *Returners incentive with resort credit. *No tipping policy *Plenty of loungers for beach and pool. *Plenty of beach towels *Good choice of restaurants and apart from Otaheiti no need to book. * Good air con in room *Good WiFi *Catamaran cruise and glass bottom boat included * Excellent bed and room cleaner *Calm sea and shallow access with swimming lane apart from water sports. Resort shortcomings: * Couples Airport to resort bus totally inadequate- old, overcrowded and uncomfortable. *Dated rooms *Poor storage *If mobility problems no lifts, some stair cases and decking need maintenance for safety. *Hot choices at breakfast always same, no cooked tomatoes or mushrooms! *Frequently short staffed at breakfast egg cooking station resulting in long queues for simple fried eggs! * No bananas at breakfast and fresh fruit choice sometimes limited. * Cocktails hit and miss! * Mini bar not replenished * gym equipment looked dated so not used Staff who gave special service: *Tavoya and Rashaun - Guest Services * Kerry Ann- room cleaner * Cressida and Yonique - Coffee bar ( great Frappe!) *Nastasia and Dean- dining * Keneisha ( Asian Restaurant) Overall we enjoyed a great holiday and may well be tempted back some time, especially if rooms are improved! While there are some things that need improving, for example the bathrooms could use a refurb and for the second time we were not allocated the correct room on arrival, all in all the location , hotel, food , excursions and not least the all staff make it a very special place. In particular Daina for sorting out our room, Patrick for carrying our bags back and forth, Dean and Nastasia in the buffet restaurant and Shamarie at the pool, thank you all.

Once again, Couples Negril proves customer satisfaction is top priority. My wife and I were there for her birthday, Super Bowl Sunday, and Valentines. The resort made each of these events special as much as a extremely large screen TV set up on the beach to watch the Super Bowl game with a tailgate party. Valentine’s Day was a special and romantic day finalized by a beautiful evening and a wonderful served dinner of lobster and fillet mignon. Our sweet bed was decorated for my wife’s birthday beyond belief the care and attention this entire resort takes to have their customers extremely happy is goes well beyond any other resort or chain. I would like to point out some of the service staff by name but they were also incredible and caring. It’s hard to point out one or two over all of them. This resort you are not allowed to tip a service staff as they were equivalently paid a higher amount and it shows no matter what the request is does not seem to be too high for Couples Negril service staff and let’s not forget the ladies at the front desk checking you in and checking out are just simply fabulous but be weird. This is not a Young resort this is for mature. Couples is not a party atmosphere and that is the way everyone likes it so if that’s what you’re looking for go to another resort.

We recently returned from a stay at Couples Negril and I can say without reservation that we had a truly wonderful time. It was our first trip to that resort but our second to a Couples resort. We had previously been to Couples Swept Away. The resort is located in Bloody Bay, part of the area known as “Seven Mile Beach”. The beach is wonderful on its own but the resort takes it one step further by sweeping any detritus they find. There are two pools, a main one located in front of the main building and a second, smaller one located near the Water Sports area. It is more secluded for those wanting more privacy. That being said the resort is quieter than most, as it is not geared to what I’ll call the “party hardy” set. There are plenty of other resorts for that kind of vacation. Both pools have smaller heated “jacuzzi” type pools attached to them. The room(s) (more on that later) were bright, spacious and well appointed. Bathrooms were clean and well laid out. Water pressure in the shower can vary but I rate it good to perfect. The food was excellent throughout, regardless of whether it was a served meal or the buffet. There are a few restaurants, with only one requiring reservations and a dress code. It’s not easy to get early times but if you use their “Guest Services” web page as well as their Guest Services in person service, you should find a time that works for you. In addition to the regular fare, we were invited to a special “Repeaters Event” for those who had been to a Couples resort in the past. The staff are truly wonderful, from the Front Desk to the bars to the room cleaning. We were given excellent service throughout. Always a smile and a willingness to get you what you need. The real test came when it was time for us to leave. A major snowstorm hit Montreal and other cities in the North East hard, causing huge delays in travel. Our flight was delayed twice and each time we had to stay beyond our departure time for two extra days. The Front Desk staff said “No problem, we can help.” We had to move rooms only once, having been allowed to keep the second room for two days. A big thank you to all the staff who made us feel welcome. Special thanks go to Lisa Marie (Front Desk), Cordia (bar), Shemarie (fitness), Keisha (manager of food services staff) and plus many others whose names I have forgotten (I’m bad with names). It might have been our first visit but it won’t be our last. Bravo!

Just returned from a relaxing week at couples negril. We have been to this resort and swept away many times and this was our first time back since Covid. We arrived at the airport lounge and were swept off to the resort promptly. Our room was not ready on arrival(3:00) , but was ready around 4:30. We received the building requested but not the floor level. The room was how we remembered and kept very clean. Housekeeping did a great job all week, just remember to put the card on your bed if you want clean sheets sans sand. The bed was comfortable except for the pillows. We both agreed they were too thick and it did affect our sleep. I might become the person that totes their own pillow on vacation sadly. The shower pressure was awful and getting warm water next to impossible. Our minibar was filled with requested items before the day ended, even a bottle of sparkling wine for our anniversary. The layout of this resort is fantastic. It’s just the right size with beautiful grounds, a breathtaking beach area, and the most wonderful employees one could imagine. I was pleased to find they had replaced the beach chairs and added a coffee shop! Also there were plenty of towels available throughout the day and finding a spot on the beach was easy, unlike the pool which looked to be quite competitive. The food was hit or miss. It was always of good quality, just not consistent. For example, at breakfast on 3 days I ordered eggs from 3 different employees. Once was overcooked, once perfect, and the one time I ordered an omelette another guest got mine and I received his. As a vegetarian, it was a bummer since it was loaded with meat. Didn’t go to waste though, my husband just had 2 that day. I loved that they had fresh coconuts to drink for breakfast and also available throughout the day at the veggie bar. The beach, though beautiful and perfectly swimmable had changed a bit since we were the last. The 2 resorts surrounding couples, Riu & Royalton have expanded and are very loud during the day. Also, in walking the beach the area that was just nature has been invaded by a bunch of tarp covered stalls hawking crafts and whatever. It reached all the way to the water when we were there and definitely took away from the pristine beach and it’s walk ability. Would we go back? Maybe, there are so many wonderful places to try and I feel couples just isn’t competitive on price. Most guests are there to enjoy the pool and beach and just relax. I would suggest to Mr Issa its time to make some well due changes. Perhaps the included scuba and various lessons could be a priced option, like the spa, and bring down the overall cost for everyone. Speaking of the spa, our room had a spa menu but no prices. Also, one thing I noticed a few times were various guests tipping. This resort is great because that isn’t allowed and it would be a shame if the owners let that get out of control. Overall, enjoy your vacation as it goes by far too quickly!!!!

We love Couples Negril. It is one of their smaller properties and we absolutley love it. You can do as little or as much as you like with a ton of included activites including scuba. It's relaxing and has a beautful sandy beach, multiple onsite resturants and all the rum drinks and red stripe included as well. The spa is an extra charge, but well worth it in our opinion.

If you want a relaxing, stress free holiday Couples Negril is the place to go. Welcoming, friendly staff, great food, nightly entertainment and activities. Everything you need or want in one location. We have been coming to this resort for the past 6 years. LOVE IT.

Towels are white and are in the room when you arrive. They can be exchanged on the beach without problems. The bathing area is well delimited and quite large. There are no rocks or lichen at the bottom and you can see your toes. Water sports is fairly well equipped and the staff is great ( O'jay, Christopher, Alex and the gang). When we were there, 2 of the 3 hobie cats were out of use but I assume that management will order the replacement parts at some point. The resort is in a bay so the sea is not too rough which is good if you do sailing only once a year like me. Saw a baby turtle coming up for air!! The staff gives lesson. The pool is nice and of an adequate size. It has a "smoking section" to sit and grill one. The room is fairly spacious, the bed and pillows were comfortable and the shower is well equipped. Smoking on terrace and balconies is prohibited in Jamaica so if you smoke, get a ground floor unit so you can smoke on the grass, 2 steps from your terrace. THe fridge is stocked when you arrive and if you are missing something, call and they will The food is excellent. The "house wine" is also pretty good. Cassava which is the main restaurant is buffet style for breakfast and lunch and "Ala carte" for dinner. There is a beach grill close to the beach with the usual staple for lunch and it doubles as a Mediteranean at night. Lychee is an asian restaurant and if you are lucky, Tracy will be assigned to take care of you. Otaheite is the upsale restaurant and the only one that requires a reservation (can be done 2 days in advance at guest services near the front desk). Food was delicious and if the gods are with you again, Crystal will be the one taking good care of you. Finally and not the least Cressida makes fantastic Jamaican and Irish coffees right next to Otaheite on top of having the best smile in the place. Staffs work hard and they are very polite and helpful. Bartenders know more drinks than any one I know. I would point out that Orele makes a mean Yellow Bird. I find that with eye contact, a smile, a please & thank you, and a tip once in a while will get you the royal treatment. Entertainment staff is pretty good with Shinese, Francesca, Duchene and the gang. They organised very nice beach volleyball games starting 10 minutes past the schedule (hey you are in Jamaica, man!). I don't know much about the nudist section of the beach as it was well isolated. The place is kept very clean. When you see tissue boxes in the public toilets, you know it is upscale. As my Mom use to tell me, you get what you pay for and this place is a testimony to that saying. Enjoy Couples Negril !!

Check in was effortless and we were soon shown to our beachfront room in block 6. We were very happy with our allocated room on floor 2 with a nice view of the sea. We had read on face book that you should book Otaheite as soon as you arrived and Sashell on guest relations helped us with this. Sashell was amazing throughout our stay and went above and beyond to sort out any requests we had. Food and drink at all restaurants were great as were the staff. Otaheite was our favourite, even though it was inside.Tshana was always so friendly and made us feel very special. There are so many lovely staff at this resort and the majority go out of their way to make you happy. We loved breakfast at Cassava. The management team knew our names after the first day, they knew where we liked to sit and what we liked to drink. Donna and Nelia always made sure we had everything we wanted and we had a laugh and a chat with them. Our room was cleaned to a very high standard everyday by Shanda. The mini bar was a bit hit and miss as it wasn’t always stocked with our order(this did happen frequently and was annoying)but after a phone call to guest relations - Sashell sorted it out. I had a problem with my ghd air styler not working because of the voltage. Maintenance came very quickly and changed the socket so I could use it. I was amazed they were able to do this and so quickly. We thought the beach was beautiful with plentiful sun loungers, which were very comfortable. There were a lot of beach vendors but they were not pushy or intrusive. We would recommend this hotel and will return.

Our first time in Jamaica, we have been all over mexico. The water was the calmest water I've ever seen. If you are a mermaid and want to be in the actual ocean alot, this place is your dream. They have a swimming area marked off, and all of the water toys you can dream of. Boat bikes, kayakes, paddle board, sail boat, free life jackets, free snorkling daily, free scuba diving daily and night scuba! You can get scuba certified here for super cheap. The resort is super relaxing and quiet and calm. Not tons of music blaring everywhere all the time. The piano bar is a fun place to hang out and get more top shelf alcohol. All of the food was fresh everywhere we went. I loved that a short walk down the beach there were tons of beach vendors selling all kinds of stuff so we never had to leave the resort! Got everything we needed right there. Felt safe the entire time. Super fun couples games daily and had tons of fun. Would recommend to all couples!

A wonderful place to stay. Great staff, excellent service and right on the beach. Great choice of restaurants and free water sports included. Majority of people we met are return guests so that speaks volumes. We have just rebooked for next year.

We're just home from a week at Couples Negril and already desperately want to go back - I can see why people return year after year! There is something really special about this resort which is hard to explain. The location is unbeatable, the vibe is relaxed and friendly and all of the staff we interacted with were fantastic. I was really surprised to see negative comments about the service in other reviews - we didn't experience that at all, but we always ensure we're extra polite and smiley to resort staff and I think that goes a long way! Food - All Inclusive food is never going to be the best of the best but even with that expectation, we were seriously impressed. Otaheite was so good we went back three times! We found the food at Lychee a tiny bit on the bland side but still nice enough. There can be long queues at breakfast time. Facilities - the gym could use some updating, but it did the job for a few days. We barely used the pool as we were mostly stationed on the AN beach (which was new to us but we loved!). Entertainment - we didn't really see any of this as we typically go to bed early, but the acts seemed to cater to a slightly older crowd (we're late 20s/early 30s). What we could hear from the room sounded great though! I've gone with 4 stars only because we have stayed in more premium AIs, but for the price point, Couples is excellent value for money. Overall, we loved our stay at Couples and would absolutely return if we were after a relaxing beach holiday.

I'm a return guest at Couples Negril. We come here yearly and every time we have a wonderful vacation. My wife and I love the beach, the service, the people, the food. We've been to other resorts but we like this one the best.

I find it unusual to say the least that your supposed to take out the hobby cat after a lesson! WHAT! I'd probably end up in the swimming area and hurt someone. Ridiculous. Never had to do that at any resort in Jamaica.

We just came back from a week at couples Negril. We loved everything! Food was very good. Beach is amazing , saw a stingray pass just by me one morning and plenty of small starfish. Rooms are comfy, getting a bit old but still it was really clean and the bed was comfy! My highlight, the diving. I am a beginner, went 4 times snorkeling and we even tried scuba diving once. Our instructor, Richardo, made it absolutely stressfree, we enjoyed it and will do it again. It is a small resort, calm just what we needed. I never thought I would say this one day because I normally prefer going to different countries but we will definitely go back!

We had an amazing stay the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the food in the restaurants very good quality. Sporting activities were well provided and we used all of them. We enjoyed it so much we are looking to book again for 2026.

This is a beautiful resort, but not for everyone. The structured, stoic nature of the resort seems to defy the 'no problem' nature of Jamaica. I write this at 7:15am, as I sit on my balcony, after having been rejected for just wanting a simple breakfast pastry and small glass of orange juice. "I'm sorry sir, the dining room doesn't open until 7:30", was her retort. But what if I don't want wait to be seated, place a napkin on my lap, order my drink, endure the formality...it's just too much. Some people here no doubt appreciate the 'finer' aspects of fine service. Me, I don't want to wait 10 minutes in line for the barista to prepare my coffee. Can't they just put out a quick-serve table for people to grab 'n go? The other thing that bothers us, both me and my wife also noted, is the employees don't seem to enjoy their jobs. Nobody appears happy here, and I'm meant to feel like a colonists obligating the staff to unpleasant servitude. Again, some patrons might like that--I don't. We've stayed at other resorts having a party attitude where everyone is seemingly family, the guests interact with one another, and the staff are clearly in on the fun. The 5-star reviews on this site are clearly earned. I just don't fit the demographic.

This was our 2nd visit to Couples Negril. It didn’t disappoint. The service we received was outstanding from the staff on the beach, all of the restaurants and front desk. Special thank you to Cressida in the coffee shop who made us numerous cups of coffee. Always friendly and smiling!! The grounds and beach are very well maintained and the guys work so hard to achieve this. Housekeeping were great, always plenty of towels. Food and drink were outstanding. There wasn’t a single meal I didn’t enjoy. Sand gravity is real and we had plans to do the excursions but spent 11 days on the beach, relaxing! It was so good we have booked to return next year too.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Couples Negril for 4 nights after spending 3 nights at another resort. I’ve been to Negril more than 10 times over the years (last time was in 2012), so I have a good sense of the area and its vibe. Couples Negril definitely delivers what it advertises. The included water sports like scuba diving, sailing, and kayaking were in great shape and well-organized. The staff was consistently warm, welcoming, and professional. The beach party night stood out for food — otherwise, meals throughout the stay were just okay. At 63 (me) and 55 (my girlfriend), we’re both fit and active, and honestly, we felt young at this resort. Most guests seemed to be in their late 40s to 70s. Many were there to relax, enjoy the food, and soak in the sun. Several we met had been coming back for over 10 or even 20 times, so clearly, this place has its fans. However, if you're looking for a younger, more energetic vibe — especially for honeymooners or active travelers — this may not be the right match. The entertainment was nice, but geared toward an older crowd. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though starting to show their age a bit. While Couples Negril is great for those who want a laid-back, all-inclusive beach escape with friendly service and calm vibes, it just wasn’t a fit for us. We were spoiled by our time at The BodyHoliday in Saint Lucia, which offered more in terms of wellness, activities, and overall experience for the money. We travel internationally 3–4 times a year and love resorts that match our active lifestyle — so for us, we’d pass on returning to Couples Negril.

The trip from the airport to the Couples Negril was not interisting, but more than risky. The driver was one hand to the mic, speaking, the other on the horn, none on the steeringwheel. Arrived at the hotel, around 13h30, at 15h00 the room was yet not ready. But the staff was quick, very, to ask for a hold of 300$ for any wrongdoing or any buy made on the beach. The manager in charge was not able to give a clearly clarification about the room that was not ready at 15h00 as advertised at the front desk. At the buffet, flies on the expsed food. Wrong choice, I regret already this trip. To be continued.
