Yesterday, we breezed into Tokyo late at night, and needed a good night's sleep before moving on to Hakone.
We have previously stayed at The Conrad Tokyo, and it never disappoints.
As Diamond members, we were upgraded to a Bayview room, with a view of Odaiba, Tokyo Bay and Hamarikyu Garden. While we thoroughly enjoy the upgrade each time it is offered, we appreciate the fact that it is a privilege, not a right, so it is always a welcome and pleasant surprise.
My husband is celiac, and we asked The Conrad Tokyo to help us with his dietary needs. They went above and beyond. The breakfast buffet in Cerise is clearly labeled with allergens, but in addition, they were able to accommodate both GF bread for his avocado toast, as well as bringing him some small, GF bread rolls, that were spectacularly good! He had them with butter and jam.
If that wasn't enough, I had also inquired as to whether they could recommend a place that might be able to provide a GF bento for our Shinkansen ride. There are, to date, no GF Ekiben, so this was our way around that. One of their restaurants was able to provide bentos, that were so lovingly packed in cloth, with ice under the bento trays to keep them fresh! The contents of the bentos was spectacularly tasty!
Our room was as expected. While the decor in the rooms hasn't been refreshed particularly recently, it is pleasant, configuration is good, and the rooms are in great shape! The beds are extremely comfortable, and I always have a good night's sleep there.
This is my favorite buffet hotel breakfast, the world over. Selection is exceptional, and flavor and quality are certainly top notch!
The staff are wonderfully hard workers and all of them very pleasant and accommodating. I believe this is a reflection of the great management team this hotel has. Also, while it is a top, luxury hotel, it has a homey, rather than stuck-up feeling, which I very much appreciate.
So again, when I say that it is my favorite hotel in the world, I am not exaggerating! It really is, and I've stayed at MANY top hotels in my lifetime. There is a reason this hotel consistently wins rewards annually, and I hope they keep up the great work for many years to come.
We are extra lucky because we get to spend another 3 nights at this wonderful hotel, at the end of our trip, which will conclude this year's adventures in Japan in a most fantastic way.
If you have the means and the chance to stay her, I highly recommend you do. You will not regret it.

The Conrad Tokyo is a wonderful hotel with impeccable service and staff. My girlfriend and I stayed there for three nights just after the holiday and it was wonderful.
I booked through American Express. The Conrad is part of their Fine Hotels and Resorts program. As a result, we were given a room upgrade, 4 pm check out, complementary upgraded WiFi, daily breakfast for two, and $125 worth of credit to be used at the hotel. An incredible perk. The breakfast is wonderful.
The Conrad, while not central, is conveniently located near a series of public transportation options. We flew into Narita and out of Haneda. Both directions we used the train to get to the airport. Shiodome Station (Odeo and Yurikamome Lines) is steps away from the front door by the skybridge. Shimbashi Station is a five to ten minute walk by the skybridge. Nine different lines go into Shimbashi. Cabs and Uber are readily available out front. We were able to get everywhere in Tokyo conveniently and quickly.
All in all we had a great stay and would certainly stay at the Conrad again.

This is one of the world’s great hotels. And I’ve been to a lot of the world. Whatever your idea of 5-star luxury, the Conrad Tokyo has it. We stayed in one of the larger suites and it was beyond spectacular. Views were dazzling of the bay, amenities were sumptuous, welcome gifts brought smiles and delight, housekeeping was flawless and worthy of royals. Gym was quite good and pool is lovely. Rooms with lounge access have that added bonus for breakfasts and relaxing throughout the day with snacks and drinks. Amex Platinum elevated the experience immensely with room upgrade, welcome gifts, “bonus” money to spend at the hotel (we used it for room service dinner on the night we arrived). Personally the Conrad experience was far preferable to the Ritz where we stayed last time and which we found d much stuffier and uninspired.

We were lucky to have a gorgeous room overlooking the Hamarikyu Gardens.
We also had access to the Executive Lounge which was beautiful and the food there was excellent.
One of the best parts of our trip to Tokyo was the teppanyaki meal in Kazahana. It is such an art to watch the preparation and presentation. The taste was amazing!
The hotel staff were fabulous!

We can’t wait to return to the Conrad Tokyo. It is the best of the best. The hotel is absolutely beautiful everywhere you look and the views are wonderful. A pianist was playing in the extensive lobby lounge when we checked in, setting the most wonderful atmosphere. Everyone on the hotel staff was so especially nice to us the entire time we were there. Kai and Rene (with her especially keen and unique sense of humor) in Cerise made our mornings so much fun and so special. We truly looked forward to breakfast every day thanks to them! Sophie (the Quality Control that we met in Cerise) and Izumi, the Assistant Guest Relations Manager, were truly exceptional, personable, accommodating, welcoming and professional. They made us feel special and at home. Mina in the Executive Lounge was always gracious and outgoing. Finally, our housekeeping staff. Unfortunately, we don’t have our names, but our room was always beautifully taken care of. While the hotel itself is beautiful, these team members make the Conrad Tokyo extraordinary. Lastly, it was a pleasure meeting and speaking to Neil McInnes. The highest compliment we can give him is that he so reminds us of Eric Long, the longtime manager at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC back when it was in operation. The Conrad Tokyo has become one of our very favorite hotels anywhere. We absolutely loved our stay!

The Conrad is a beautiful hotel near some gardens in Tokyo. As stated in previous reviews, the lobby is located on the 28th floor of building. The rooms offer great views and and our suite was spotless. The employees are extremely welcoming and helpful with anything you need. Breakfast was awesome but can be very busy. Unfortunately we could hear train noise-even on the higher upper floors. The trains do quit running though from around midnight to 5 am. We felt that the location was very convenient. Thank you Conrad for your hospitality!

I had fairly high expectations for this stay, and the hotel generally met them. We booked the Twin Room City room (their standard room) and stayed in this room for the first of the 5 nights, but were upgraded to Twin Bay view room on the next day because I’m Hilton Gold. It’s the same size and layout as the City view room, but the experience in our view is VASTLY different. Not only are the bay views absolutely spectacular, but the room is way way brighter on that side because you don’t have other tall buildings right next door blocking the light.
The room was large and well laid out. We very much appreciated the floor to ceiling windows with a huge chase lounge in front of it. My wife spent a lot of time on that lounge while we were resting in the room or waiting out the rain.
The Twin beds are really equivalent to the US double size beds. I find this to be the case at all luxury hotels in Japan so far, and find it very confusing (why call them Twin?). It may be because, unlike the US, there is no single uniform size for Twin/Single beds in the Japan hotels. The beds in the Intercontinental Tokyo Bay were noticeably smaller than the Conrad Tokyo and Conrad Osaka beds, though still wider than the US Twin beds.
Anyway, the beds were somewhat too hard for our taste, but that’s a common problem in Japan and Europe. This was the only real negative of this stay.
The room had a Nespresso machine with plentiful capsules. As always at nice Japanese hotels, nice fine bone china cups were provides, as well as different tea cups.
The bathroom had plentiful countertop space with twin vanities. I don’t get why some people are bothered by the window to the room It makes the bathroom nice and bright during the day, and the electric blinds can fully close the window for privacy.
The shower is spectacular with amazing water pressure from the rainfall shower head or the hand shower. Showers are always a fantastic highlight in Japan at most hotels.
The closet had plenty of hanging space and drawers.
Just like all other Japanese 4 and 5 star hotels we have stayed at in our two trips, the hotel was as quiet as a vault, unlike the typical US hotel where you constantly hear and feel doors slamming and people talking and yelling. Part of it is cultural, even my fellow Americans are keeping their voices down in the hallway. But it’s mostly about better design and soundproofing.
Because this hotel was built in the early 2000’s, it’s not as modern and nice as the Conrad Osaka that we visited on the same trip, but still very nice. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which was completely free to us as Hilton Honors Gold elite. The selection was wide, and the quality was excellent. I typically ordered a couple of eggs from the kitchen the way I like them, and they came out pretty fast. I then added potatoes, bacon, sausage and fruit from the buffet. On one of the days there was a seemingly long line to breakfast, but we were seated within 5-10 minutes. On other nights, there was no line at all. They have two huge dining rooms for breakfast.
We also ate one night at the hotel’s Kazahana Japanese restaurant. My wife had a traditional Japanese multi-corse meal and I had grilled pork with rice dish. My pork was spectacular. My wife’s multi-corse meal was nice but not as nice as what we had at The Okura Tokyo on our last trip.
Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would be happy to come back to this hotel if the nightly rate is reasonable. We got great value from our Hilton points redemptions because of the 5th night free perk. But if the rate was $500-700 a night, we would select The Okura without a second thought. For the same price, the rooms are bigger, way more luxurious, and the food is better.

Fabulous hotel. Spent two nights in a corner suite overlooking Tokyo. Service was outstanding. Attention to detail was superb. I know some of it is cultural as every need is anticipated and things like a mini bar take on new meaning in Japan. See how the whiskey bottles were presented in the silly photo I am attaching. Food was great. Ate at 28 and Cerise a few times. Missed China Blue which was our fault. Would gladly return. Shout outs to a few outstanding members of the staff. Peter (asst guest relation manager). Nunzio (host and server at Cerise). Khet (server at Cerise). We were very fortunate to experience their professionalism and hospitality.

Taxi price from the Haneda airport was around 7,000 yen.
I would happily return to the Conrad Tokyo.
