This hotel is in a good location if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of busy Tokyo. Nice neighbourhood with plenty of places to eat and a few shops at Ebisu Garden Place. Downside was the queues at breakfast; one morning we waited 20 minutes to be seated. One evening we went up to the Sky bar and were told if we wanted a window seat there was an extra charge 🤷♀️. When we arrived our room wasn’t ready & we were shattered after a 14 hour flight plus airport travel time. We are both members of Marriott Bonvoy, but this didn’t seem to have any advantages. This hotel was booked through a travel company so we had to stay here, but wouldn’t stay again.

I stayed from December 13-15. I really liked the area where the hotel is located, and the breakfast was very diverse. The room wasn’t particularly distinctive but was very spacious. What I was dissatisfied with was that, as a Titanium Elite member, I usually get upgraded to a suite when staying at Marriott hotels, especially at Westin properties, if suites are available. However, during my stay, even though there were plenty of suites available, I was not upgraded. A gentleman at the front desk was very polite but insincere, with a fake smile, telling me that no matter what, I could only be upgraded by one room category. This is something I had never experienced before. I am somewhat disappointed with this Westin in Tokyo.

I have stayed in Tokyo many times and it’s my first time staying at this Westin Tokyo. Since I am Ambassador member i have free breakfast and access to lounge. Each evening I will go the lounge for the cocktail session and facing Tokyo tower skyline. I have few glasses of sparkling wine, some cheese and light salad. Kimura San is very professional and he comes and talk to me every night and make sure I am all good. I really enjoy his hospitality and service in this hotel is amazing !

I am so confused that this hotel is rated five stars. Who rated it this level? I don’t even know where to start…the staff was non-agreeable and def seemed strained and unhappy (not all of them - the club level staff seemed content under Kim’s guidance). She’s a true professional and was able to bend some and listen to customers. The bar on the top floor was a joke. So bad! Pre-made drinks that were priced as craft cocktails. We were going to sit by the window to enjoy the view (we were literally the only guests in the place) and we were told that it cost $20 per person to sit there. This was such an insult to us and completely unacceptable. Then we tried the bar on the first floor. OMG! You talk about bad energy. Wow! The bartender was a dour young woman who was so unhappy. It made us really uncomfortable. She was scrutinized by her manager at the end of the bar. The whole thing was strange. You’re at a bar in a 5 star hotel and you ask for something salty to have with your mediocre cocktail (at least it wasn’t pre-made) - you’re given a very small martini glass of weird sweet and salty nuts and then charged $10 for them. It was another awful experience at this place. The room was not super clean but passable. The carpets in this five star place were def stained up so you know LOTS of people have stayed here before you. The bathrooms are awful - we were told that none of the rooms in this gigantic hotel have restrooms with a private toilet so two people had to wait on each other to get ready in the am. The showers are stand alone like what you get in a trailer. They are tiny so you can’t shave your legs and there is nowhere to put your products. The shower gel/lotion is very low end. Thankfully I brought my own and used them while I stayed here. The breakfast staff seemed happy but again more concerned with following the rules and def non-bendable. We had a girl literally follow us because we took our cappuccino cups with us. She would not accept that we would leave them in the room for housekeeping to take care of. I did a spa day. Again - there’s a charge to use the spa - I think $10 or $15 and they put a time limit on how you can use the spa when you have treatments done. For instance, I got a 90 minute massage and 60 minute facial and was told I could use the space (keep in mind it’s tiny) for 30 minutes before and after both treatments. As I always say - all experiences come from the top. My guess is the GM of this hotel is unhappy and exerts way too much control over their managers, not enabling them to do their jobs with any latitude. I think the takeaway from this experience is that the hotel nickel and dimes their guests to the point that it leaves a really bad impression. And the hotel itself is very ordinary.

I want to express my gratitude to all the staff at the lounge, especially Upul, who was extremely attentive and kind every time we visited. I also want to thank Yui Ato and Naito Shiori. Although I can't remember all the names, everyone was very friendly and kind. Thank you again for contributing to our wonderful vacation in Japan. It's truly the most respectful, kind, and generous country. We fell in love with Japan 🇯🇵.
