This was my first Caribbean vacation and I booked Catcha because of the reviews - they weren't lying. Easy to see why so many guests come back here every year. Absolutely breathtaking views, great hospitality, one of the best restaurants in Negril at Ivan's. They also offer guests free coffee...

This was my first Caribbean vacation and I booked Catcha because of the reviews - they weren't lying. Easy to see why so many guests come back here every year. Absolutely breathtaking views, great hospitality, one of the best restaurants in Negril at Ivan's. They also offer guests free coffee and tea in the mornings, which was awesome because our cabin was oceanfront, right next to the restaurant. One caution: you can't walk to the beach from here -- actually, walking seems a challenge for most of the area, with busy roads and no sidewalks. But they have a tour company ready to give you a ride. I do wish it were easier to explore on foot. I didn't want an all-inclusive resort because I wanted to try other food -- this place is just next to a great jerk centre (Kool Vybes) and other local fare. You can also walk (if you're careful) to Push Cart Restaurant at Rock House or LTU, both of which are awesome.

Had big expectations of this place. The accommodation was great, large, clean and well furnished but we had some mould in the bedroom and bathroom. They did offer to paint over it but neither my wife nor I wanted to sleep with the paint fumes. Apart from that it was fine. The food at Ivans just really wasn't very good at all. Steamed veg are part of the national dish and when they arrive almost raw everytime you know something is really off. We couldn't eat there after a couple of days and started eating elsewhere. Also every night the busy restaurant plays Happy Birthday by Stevie Wonder at full volume at least half a dozen times or more. Multiply that by 7 and you are not far from the techniques used in modern torture . Catcha is not a large resort by any means. The only way to hide was in the apartment which is a shame when you have a nice sea facing terrace. Some of the staff members were really nice and helpful but not all. The worse thing of all is not the fault of Catcha itself but the proximity to Rick's. Prepare for your peaceful afternoons to be ruined by crappy loud music and tourists as all the boats turn up at the same time everyday. We just wanted to chill but it wasn't always possible which put a dampener on our time here.

Outside shower overlooking the ocean. Like your own little secluded heaven. And the food at Yvon is delicious. Don’t miss happy hour from 3-5 everyday. Swimming and snorkelling here is a must. We seen fish,turtles and even dolphins. We will be back next year. Can’t wait.

We just returned from our second stay at Catcha. The first was about 8 years ago. Not much has changed and that is exactly what we were hoping for. The most laid back atmosphere along with a very attentive staff. We loved happy hour each day…always fun and great deals....

We just returned from our second stay at Catcha. The first was about 8 years ago. Not much has changed and that is exactly what we were hoping for. The most laid back atmosphere along with a very attentive staff. We loved happy hour each day…always fun and great deals. Jason was a fav! Food of course is a highlight here and I absolutely loved the breakfast choices. Portions are quite large at all meals as well. Great specials at dinner. If you go off property to eat…most resorts offer a free shuttle to and then you pay like $5 a person back. Or Sheriff onsite can help you out. No gift shop but a nice market directly across the street. Wish Catcha still did Ivan’s T-shirts hint hint This time we stayed in Sagittarius which is most repeaters fav room and now I know why. Views were incredible and the sound of the waves crashing as you fall asleep was amazing . Bed was super comfortable and housekeeping came each day with fresh towels. We had Az most days and she was lovely. Plenty of storage with a full dresser and cupboard and suitcases fit easily under the bed. Room comes with a nice side mini fridge and microwave as well as some plates and cups and silverware. Also a coffee machine but since coffee is complimentary we didn’t use it. Spent every day out on the patio on the daybed which was also super comfortable with tons of pillows. Property also provides towels for the pool so o need to bring your own. One thing to mention in case you like to go to bed early…the room is connected to the restaurant. The window in the shower…that’s where they do all the plates and silverware and what not so always activity. You will also hear Stevie Wonders Birthday song more times than you can count. Shutting the bathroom door helps. The bar closes at 10 but not usually quite until well after 11 once the staff finishes up. None of this was an issue just mentioning it as a know before you go thing. Staff makes you feel at home

A quick preface prior to my review... My wife and I have been traveling to Jamaica for 33 years, but didn't make it to Negril until 18 years ago. Since that time, 90% of our stays in Negril have been at cliffside resorts. We've stayed at a handful of other...

A quick preface prior to my review... My wife and I have been traveling to Jamaica for 33 years, but didn't make it to Negril until 18 years ago. Since that time, 90% of our stays in Negril have been at cliffside resorts. We've stayed at a handful of other cliff resorts over the years, just to break things up, but we ALWAYS return to Catcha Falling Star. Why? Because we usually end up saying "we should've stayed at Catcha" LOL. This review is on our recent, 12th stay there. By comparison, we have stayed at 4 other cliff resorts for a total of 6 times. Catcha has been our "go-to" hangout, and for good reason. Let's start with the... Views: Spectacular! 180 degrees of Caribbean Sea from any number "perches" to relax from. The infinity pool is fairly small, but cozy, with a calming waterfall of water coming from the walkway/bridge just above it. We've never had the pool feel "crowded". Although we typically stay in the low season, there are only 17 rooms and plenty of loungers around or near the pool...some tucked away in more private spots. All with terrific views of the sea. We nearly always spot dolphins during our stay. If you like to snorkel, and the water is permitting (i.e. not too rough), the visibility is great. The lifeguard, Kevin, is a great addition to the staff. We always see him greet new arrivals coming down to the pool area for their first time. Food: Ivan's is (fortunately for guests) the onsite restaurant. The food is just terrific and the prices are very reasonable. All seats offer a view of the sea, some spectacular! Or if you prefer, meals can be brought to your room. Sometimes it's fun to eat on your veranda. On this trip we stayed 9 days and we ate all of our meals on site. Room: We've stayed in most of the rooms over the years and each one has something fun and unique to offer. We often stay in one of the one bedroom suites just because, for us, it's just nice to have a bedroom separated from the living room/kitchen dining area. It just depends on what experience you are looking for. Keep in mind that these rooms aren't the Hilton with satin sheets. They are well maintained, clean and nicely appointed rooms and we love them! Staff: From the initial greeting of a huge welcoming smile from Isis at check in, to seeing the smiling faces of girls like Ordia (serving breakfast at Ivan's for many years), and Carol (same, but now for dinner) and all of the staff that you may come across on a typical day...they really are top notch! I have to give a special shout out to Cassandra, who keeps everything running smoothly. Overall: If you just want a great place to come and chill, this is it. It's a much different vibe than the all-inclusive beach experience. But for us, Catcha wins hands down, over and over. The prices have stayed reasonable and the changes that they have made to the property over the last 17 years are very chic and beautiful. Bravo Catcha! Keith and Kathy will see you again next year!

Exceeded all expectations! Catcha Falling Star is an amazing place on the West End (cliff side) of Negril. If you're not looking for the beach experience, but still want to the water - come here! You won't be disappointed. The grounds and accomodations are stunning and great value for price....

You won't be disappointed. The grounds and accomodations are stunning and great value for price. I've stayed at Rockhouse and thought nothing could top it - I was wrong. Plus it was more affordable! It's just 2 min from Rick's cafe if you want some entertainment, otherwise enjoy the relaxing vibes of the pool or cliff side coves. The restaurant - Ivan's - was so good that we never went anywhere else to eat. Everything from breakfast, to lunch to dinner was so tasty. Staff was friendly and helpful. I can't wait to come back.

We had a wonderful time! This is the best hotel we stayed in during our trip to Jamaica. The bar is cool, the pool is beautiful and so relaxing. There's plenty of access to the sea, and the view is incredible. There are even inflatable buoys available for the pool...

We had a wonderful time! This is the best hotel we stayed in during our trip to Jamaica. The bar is cool, the pool is beautiful and so relaxing. There's plenty of access to the sea, and the view is incredible. There are even inflatable buoys available for the pool and the sea. You can jump off the rocks into the turquoise water or chill out on deckchairs hidden in lots of little corners (for extra peace and quiet). And the staff are super nice, so THANK YOU!

We have a favorite waitress (Carol) but the entire staff here is lovely. The grounds are beautiful, their swim area is inviting surrounded by lots of shaded seating. Food here is not to be overlooked, many Negril aficionados think Ivan’s may be the best in Negril. I started coming to Negril in ‘98, the last two and the next time (April 2024) I’ve stayed at “Catcha”. One of favorites thing to do is get up in the morning, head to the restaurant, get a table over looking ocean and just relax over a long breakfast. Go before nine and you’ll be guaranteed to privacy (in the spring - maybe not in the busy season).

The views are beautiful it has a great restaurant on site and is also with her great walking distance, and you can catch a cab to go anywhere to eat on the cliffs.

This boutique resort on the west end cliffs was an absolute dream! We were there for 4 days and didn’t want to leave. All of the staff were top notch and really spent time engaging with the guests and helping wherever they could. We especially want to thank Issis who...

This boutique resort on the west end cliffs was an absolute dream! We were there for 4 days and didn’t want to leave. All of the staff were top notch and really spent time engaging with the guests and helping wherever they could. We especially want to thank Issis who went out of her way time and time again to make our stay wonderful! We dined at Ivan’s onsite for Valentines Day and had the most delicious blackened snapper we’ve ever had. They went all out decorating and making it a special night for their guests! Our only regret was is that we couldn’t stay longer but we’ll be back!!

Great bar for happy hour. Moved to restaurant and had a fabulous meal. Such a beautiful property. We are going to try and stay there next time in Negril. In close proximity is Rick’s Bar and the best jerk chicken in Negril….Kool Vybes (just across the street) !

My husband and myself stayed here for a night to get away from the Royalton Negril. This place is heaven on earth, beautiful, peacefull and all the staff friendly and welcoming. Our upper suite was directly above the ocean, the sunset was stunning and our stay magical. Will definately return...
