Angermeyer Waterfront Inn

This hotel is lovely and charming. The staff was accommodating, helpful, and friendly. Easy access to town via water taxi, $1 per person each way. The room was spectacular with beautiful views of harbor and the ocean. Highly recommended this hotel!!

Our stay at Angermeyer Waterfront Inn has been one of my all-time favorite vacation stays! It was magical, relaxing, beautifully set, and with a staff that was attentive to every detail. Our room was beautiful and with a view, and very comfortable. The staff was friendly, attentive and grew to be friends over our stay. They went above and beyond to help us secure water taxis, coordinate with our tour companies and (most importantly for me) were very thoughtful and attentive to my dietary restrictions. This is a uniquely situated hotel experience as well- it’s a nice separated space from the main street and bustle of Puerto Ayora, and walking distance from local beaches and overall a quieter and comfortable experience. I highly recommend staying here- this is a beautiful way to experience the Galápagos Islands. Don’t miss out!!

This place was insanely nice. It must be the nicest accommodation near Santa Cruz. The people who work here are so kind and helpful. I loved talking to Rebecca. Right in front of the hotel there are lights that attract sharks, rays, sea lions, and fish, so you can sit at the restaurant with a drink or meal and watch wildlife right in front of you without leaving the hotel! The only meal I had here was breakfast, but it was lovely. The oceanview room was beautiful. You have to take a $1 water taxi to come and go from the hotel. The taxi ride to town is only a few minutes. It was super easy, and the longest wait we had was a couple minutes for the taxi to show up. The only thing I wish I knew is that it's hard to get small bills for the taxi. I would recommend bringing lots of ones with you so you don't have to ask the hotel to break larger bills every day. I would absolutely come back here!

The rooms are big, AC works, some of the staff is friendly. Problems: First there was a large noisy wedding during our stay. You'd think someone would have told us that their resturant was not open, and that electronic music would be playing FULL BLAST 6-10pm at night. Again there was no warning. I booked a trip with the hotel and learned that they use a third party vendor and that the boat trip involved 30-40minute bus ride each way. I assumed the trip was leaving from their own boat dock on the premises. In conclusion, poor value, investigate other options before you book.

This hotel has great potential, but it is not realized. The rooms are nice and the view over the harbor is great. However, the food and service are very marginal, especially given what they charge for a room. We had several issues—the bedside lamps did not work, so we talked to the front desk and they said they would come look at them, but never did. We eventually got them to work on our own. The ceiling fan also did not work, but they never came to see if they could fix it. The worst thing was that the smoke detector started beeping in the middle of the night, indicating a low battery. We went to the front desk, but nobody was there, so we removed the damn thing and took it to the front desk to beep on its own. Hopefully, it kept the front desk guy awake once he returned to his station. The breakfasts were included, but we almost stopped eating them because the eggs were runny, the “bacon” looked inedible, and their definition of hash browns was a soggy fried potato with mystery filling. We would never stay here again.

Staff are so helpful and friendly. Being on the water you get a nice breeze and amazing views especially from the Southern Cross room where we’ve stayed twice now. Food is very good in the restaurant. Could use a few more towels like a hand towel and face cloth in the washroom but that’s a minor thing. Water taxis are right out front. Can book excursions from the hotel as well which we did and are great.

What a fantastic, unique hotel! It was so fun and so easy using water taxi’s to access the hotel, and for only 1 dollar. The hotel staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy. I definitely recommend staying here.

To top it up, they let us kept our baggage while we were transferring to take a ferry to Isabela Island. Thank you again!

After spending a week on a boat, my partner and I were thrilled to walk into our spotless, spacious and comfortable room at the Angermeyer. The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We took advantage of the laundry service and were very happy Breakfast was fantastic, great fuel for several day trips. The staff will take good care of you and the time are clean and lovely. The water taxis from the Angermeyer's private duck to the main pier (Mueller) are frequent (if one doesn't pull up immediately, just wait a couple of minutes- on either side), fast, and inexpensive $1 each person each way.
