Delta is once again flying non-stop to Turks & Caicos from Detroit and we were so excited to try out Amanyara. Although the most expensive resort we have ever stayed at, it was a special celebration for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It turned out to be just that, although the worst experience instead of the best. After reading all the negative reviews on TA and Google, I had my agent send them to the resort. My agent expressed that we were not going to accept anything less than 100% luxury and pampering. We were assured that would be the case. It turned out that all the negative reviews were spot on. And I am suggesting to you that if you are reading my review and planning on going, cancel your reservation ASAP and book elsewhere. Unless of course, you are an influencer or spend your time on your cell 24/7 which most of the guests were. In less than 12 hours on the property, here is my short list: Villa 128, $5500 +28% Overlooks ocean, two lounge chairs. No WIFI by lounge chairs. Area not lighted at night so cannot use it No ice in room No outdoor shower in villa Not asked times for housekeeping Bikes not assigned, went to beach club and it was taken No signage for spa, gym, lobby anywhere on roads. Very confusing layout, easy to get lost and I did. No lights at night along path, must take golf carts everywhere Gym has a shower, no dryer or amenities Spa has no locker rooms There is no adult pool Main pool not lighted at sunset Beach club outdoor showers: No hot water, conditioner or towels. I was told they close at 5:00 Beach club restaurant: Wine 6x cost, average cocktail $35 plus all taxes. Small garden salad $28, average pizza $35, $71 for 7 oz. Yellowtail, no ahi available even though their fine dining restaurant features sushi. Employees not overly happy and know most of these concerns but nothing is ever done about them. Plus side: Well equipped gym Nice lounge areas Absolutely worse than all the above were the worms on the bed and floor. So gross and disgusting. And the bugs here are out of control especially if it rains. Upon arrival, there was not a single manager welcoming us, this knowing in advance our expectations. Bottom line: Just don't go. After seeing the prices in the restaurants, you will want to hop over to Grace Bay and eat at any other restaurant but alas, they charge $500 RT for taxi service so even that isn't an option.

Beautiful tennis courts and great tennis pro. One night surprised us with a beautiful private dinner on the bluff near the ocean with large bonfire, food is great and has dramatically improved over the years, I do wish they would go back to larger bathtubs so can take a couples bath. They changed them to very small ones a few years ago. Overall we love Amanyara and can’t wait to go back in February. Recommend the resort highly as the best in the Caribbean.

The architectural design blends modern elegance with the natural surroundings, providing breathtaking ocean views and an immediate sense of tranquility upon arrival. It’s clear why Amanyara is considered one of the top resorts in the region. Check-in was smooth and personalized, handled in-room rather than in the lobby—a thoughtful touch that made us feel valued from the start. The staff at Amanyara are genuinely attentive, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile. Every request was handled with care, and on the rare occasion there was a minor slip-up, the manager personally came to apologize. This level of service is exactly what one would expect from a five-star property, and it’s clear the staff takes great pride in making guests feel welcomed and cared for. However, while Amanyara certainly deserves its five-star reputation, it’s crucial to weigh the value relative to the price. With an average ADR of $2,800 per night for a basic room, the resort sets a high bar for guest expectations. For me, price alone isn’t the determining factor for satisfaction—I’ve enjoyed $200-per-night hotels that exceeded my expectations and have also found value in resorts priced at $10,000 per night. But as prices increase, so does the property’s responsibility to justify every dollar spent. When a resort charges such a premium rate for its most basic accommodations, it inherently brings added scrutiny and expectations for a flawless experience in every detail. Upon entering our pavilion, we noticed a musky, smoky odor in the room. Though we mentioned this to the check-in staff, they denied noticing any smell, despite having placed an air purifier in the room, which seemed to indicate awareness of the issue. Given the hotel’s low occupancy, a simple room change would have been appropriate. Being left in a room with an odor fell short of what I’d expect for such a high-end property. In terms of cleanliness, the resort appeared spotless at first glance, but closer inspection revealed some missed details. The small beach area, though beautiful, had litter like bottles and wrappers that detracted from the pristine environment. For a resort of this caliber, cleaning the beachfront daily should be standard. In our bathroom, the shower initially seemed clean, but closing the door revealed areas that had been overlooked. These small issues are forgivable at a budget property but feel out of place here, where flawless attention to detail is expected. The ambiance of Amanyara is idyllic, and the sense of peace it provides is remarkable. However, the lack of adequate lighting and signage at night made navigating the pathways challenging. Additional lighting or signs would improve the nighttime experience. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the bed. The mattress felt like it belonged in a motel rather than a high-end resort, being lumpy and uncomfortable, which impacted my sleep. For a luxury property, especially at this price point, comfort is paramount, and a quality mattress is essential. Upgrading the beds would make a significant difference. Bottom Line: If you decide to stay at Amanyara—and it’s one of the nicest resorts in the Caribbean, perfect for an exclusive, peaceful escape—just be aware of these minor imperfections. Knowing about them in advance allows you to set realistic expectations and focus on the incredible aspects of this resort: the stunning location, beautiful architecture, and warm, dedicated staff. The worst part of any luxury stay is expecting a flawless, world-class experience and feeling let down by small details. With these insights, you’ll be prepared to fully enjoy all that Amanyara has to offer. Final Verdict: Amanyara is a visually striking, secluded resort ideal for unwinding in an exotic, tranquil setting with top-notch service. While some areas could benefit from more attention to detail to truly match the premium pricing, it’s still an exceptional place to relax and recharge. With balanced expectations, Amanyara will leave you with lasting memories of a unique luxury experience in the beautiful Turks and Caicos.

The hotel itself was very nice and secluded. All of the staff members were very helpful except for one worker at the beach who was very rude. The chairs at the beach are very far away from the bar and the waiters at the beach do not come up to your section to see if you need any drinks or food so be prepared to stand up and walk to get their attention. Most high end hotels I've been to would normally have someone checking in on each group every so often to refill drinks/food. This was a huge turn off. Getting off hotel and getting a taxi is very expensive (around $500 roundtrip) so be prepared to spend and arm and a leg if you want to explore. Rooms are quite far from the front entrance, restaurants, and lobby. They provide bicycles that you can use to get to your room, or you can request for a golf cart to pick you up and drop you off to your room or pick you up. Food is very expensive at the hotel which is kind of expected. Fruit bowl is $32 and a 6" avocado toast is $36. A 6oz Fresh juice is $16. We spent roughly $200 each morning for breakfast after the 28% tax. Because the hotel is in a secluded area, with nature, there are insects all over the rooms. Expect to get bit by mosquistos daily and nightly while sleeping. Total we spent was around $20,000 for 3 nights not including off resort activities. Theres better places in the world that you can go thats more worth the money spent. Overall experience was 2/5.

I will preface this by saying that this was a much needed short escape for us, a couple in our 60s, looking to relax. Not our usual vacation M.O. which is lots of touring, hotel hopping and action packed. we wanted a few days to pamper ourselves and just chill this time. Amanyara is beautiful! it is located on a remote part of the island – about 30 minutes from all the hoopla of Grace Bay. Upon arrival at Amanyara, we took in the incredible zen background as we were welcomed with a refreshing soft drink and escorted by Shane to learn the lay of the land. The property is simply breathtaking. Shane is the ultimate host- warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. thank you, Shane for your hospitality! we booked a special -stay two nights and the third night is free- which was only available in their basic accommodation category. Again, not our usual. m.o.-we tend to splurge on our trips. although we tried to upgrade direct and also through our new virtuoso travel agent, we could not. however, it honestly did not matter. Our tranquility pavilion was amazing! private. beautiful. extremely comfortable including two separate sink areas which is such a plus when getting ready for dinner in the evening. we did have a few glitches at the beginning of our stay. we expressed desire for quiet and privacy, and specifically not to be seated near young loud children (there were so many young children, which surprised us!) and immediately after being seated, a family with two literally screaming toddlers was placed directly across from us. they really should’ve had a family section separate from an adults only section. we did end up moving tables and they placed us in a beautiful private location overlooking the water. We also spoke to the manager, Kaya, and he bent over backwards for the rest of our trip to make sure we were happy-including comping our last nights dinner, which was not necessary, but really appreciated. shout out to Wilmar too who was so attentive and eager to please us. We appreciate it. I really don’t want to harp on any negatives. in a nutshell though, the weak link is the service in some of the areas of the resort. nothing terrible. They just don’t anticipate your needs like some other places where we have been. BUT I would come back to Amanyara in a minute and we plan to do just that and next time with the family. We took a short tour of the 4bedroom villa section and although pricy, it’s incredible. The infinity pool, the beach, the bar, are all fabulous but i must comment on the unbelievable spa treatments my husband and I had. the spa is AMAZING ( and i am a spa /massage junkie so that means a lot!). we had body scrubs, a romantic bath for two followed by 90 minute massages. heaven! amanyara is a special place. in my opinion, you don’t go there for the food- breakfast is good, the rest adequate but nothing special. we are foodies, but this didn’t really bother us. The overall atmosphere and facilities are absolutely worth going there and going back. that coupled with a very short and easy JetBlue flight from JFK, (we recommend the fast track service to get through security quickly) made this just what we needed- a relaxing and enjoyable long weekend getaway.

Nolan our butler was a superstar and very attentive. Amazing new improved menus and choices at the restaurants. Surprised my wife and I one morning with a private breakfast on cliff edge overlooking the ocean. One of the nicest beaches anywhere in the world and we travel a lot. Beautiful Pavilions - rooms- all glass overlooking the amazing turquoise waters. The massages at spa were amazing with therapists from Asia. New managers are very attentive. Upgraded the TVs with apple tv in every room. Tennis pros are also great. Recommend highly as the best resort in the Carribean. Can’t wait to come back soon.

On the way home from our stay my wife and I discussed how we would rate our experience. We decided that of ALL the Caribbean resorts we’d visited (many), Amanyara ranked FIRST in all categories: Beach Room Food Tennis courts Service We love tennis and the well-maintained HarTru courts, some of which were well protected from the breeze, were fabulous. The only inconvenience related to gratuities. Are we supposed to give a tip for every ride to our room, every gesture of service, every time someone brings us tennis balls? That’s work; not relaxation. I wish they either prohibited tipping or collected a percentage of all charges or something so we didn’t have to worry about it. Bottom line: Can’t wait to return.

Although this was not an ideal time to visit the Caribbean (hot and humid), my wife and I elected to visit this Aman for four nights for a brief getaway. Professionalism and attention to detail by the resort's staff were apparent from the point of arrival till our departure. Pick-up from the airport was timely and check-in was efficient, professional and genuinely warm in their greeting/welcome. As expected of the Aman chain, the grounds were beautifully landscaped and pristine - perhaps even gorgeous. Room was Aman-esque; the decor was very nice with many thoughtful amenities and a great view; I cannot think of anything that was lacking. We were assigned a villa that required an ~5 minute buggy ride to the main buildings. This was not an issue as a driver would appear within 2-3 minutes of our requesting a ride from the front desk. We enjoyed the many facilities offered at the resort; the spa was excellent, as was the service. My only negative comment, and this is a big one, was that the food was very much less than expected - when compared to other Amans we had visited. As the hotel is situated some distance from Providenciales, we elected to take the meal plan that provided 3 meals/day. While the selection of food was adequate, the quality was much less than experienced at other Amans in the region; the chef was very heavy with his/her deployment of salt to ALL the meals; some were non edible because of the excessive use of this condiment. We had mentioned this to the staff but this issue was not rectified - to the point that we subsequently settled on foods that did not require the addition of salt by the cook - viz, salads, fruits and pre-prepared foods. Staff throughout were polite, attentive and genuinely tried to make our stay pleasant - this was arguably the best redeeming aspect of our stay at this particular Aman. I would probably revisit but request for a room closer to the main buildings (unless we elect to take a villa with our extended family - with an assigned personal chef) and opt-out from the meal plan.

Where do I begin???? Just returned from an amazing 4 day anniversary stay here. Beach absolutely amazing…clear like glass blue water, might be even better than Maldives or Zanzibar. We were like fish that never wanted to leave the water. Staff beyond amazing…they knew our names, our likes and dislikes, our dietary restrictions and really spoiled us because it was our anniversary. Each evening we would find a surprise in our room such as candles, soaps and bath salt to take home or the best tasting fruit, chocolates and cake to enjoy during our stay. Riding the bikes from our room to the beach and all over made us feel like we were on our own private island. It was one of the best parts of our stay. Breakfast is simply put just perfect. I never tasted anything bad for breakfast or any other meal. Wilmar remembered our coffee and juice orders each morning. Every meal was superb from the breakfast burrito, fish tacos, hamburger, to the pastries just unforgettable! The rooms are gorgeous and so spacious. We were upgraded to an ocean view room which was so tranquil and views exceptional. Apparently the hotel was at 60% capacity before we left but we felt like we were the only ones there! We were already dreaming and plotting when we could come back. The entire staff is amazing and there were just too many names to remember but from the names I can remember I would like to thank Amanda who surprised us with an anniversary cake and was always checking if we needed anything, Wilmar who remembered all our favorite foods and drinks, Sade who never forgot any of our requests and would make the impossible possible, Ruby, Rocky, Faruk, Junior, Tanya, and Marco. You all made our stay so memorable and treated us like family. Please forgive me to those who’s name I forgot! We ventured out to Grace bay for a few hours and immediately wanted to go back ‘home’ to our sanctuary at Amanyara. Yes the price of accommodations maybe a little on the high side but honestly it’s worth every penny. Be sure to take advantage of the spa, afternoon tea, bicycles and complimentary snorkeling trip. We have travelled to several places all over the world but Amanyara has now moved to the top of our list of favorite places we’ve visited. Hope to return one day real soon! From the minute you get in the car at the airport, you are part of a total, enveloping experience. Somehow everyone knows your name, and shortly thereafter knows the foods and drinks you like. A warm, friendly staff keeps an eye on your stay and helps make plans, sort out travel, take care of anything you might need. We were there for six nights and never left the property. There's a lot to do if you want that, but also it's a great place to do absolutely nothing and just enjoy the beautiful spot and terrific food. It's not the cheapest place to go, but it's easily one of the best properties of its kind that we've ever visited. Both restaurants on the property were excellent and very casual in vibe. The place was three quarters full when we were there, but because of the site and the layout, it seemed as though it was far less full than it actually was. Very quiet. Great spa. Great beach. We've already booked again for next year.

We returned again to this stunningly and beautifully designed resort that is simply, paradise! Having suffered through several difficult personal situations, my wife and I needed an emergency mental recharge and, after considering some other wonderful resorts, I knew the ultimate Zen location would be back at Amanyara. We always stay in an Ocean Pavilion as they offer stunning views throughout the day of the ocean, sky, mind-blowing sunsets, and a star filled sky at night. Although this was our 4th visit to Amanyara, the beautiful architecture and property continued to stun and fill my photo app with pictures. The nighttime lighting of the structures is just as stunning. Added to this picturesque surrounding is a staff that provides as much attention, or as little, as one desires. With beaming, warm and friendly smiles they seek to make the impossible possible. We have always found the staff to be very interesting to talk to as they have had a variety of experiences and backgrounds. This trip involved a particular situation with us that the staff compassionately and quietly went to great extents to accommodate and we were so truly grateful for their kind assistance. As I mentioned to the staff upon departure, we have traveled and stayed at many fabulous resorts and hotels, including other Amans, around the world. Normally, we are happy at the end of the trip and ready for our departure onward. But every stay at Amanyara has been different as, although we have had a fabulous stay, we are truly sad to be leaving such a beautiful and Zen environment and pine for a few more days there!

Also so many activities to experience or just chill! But what really makes the difference is the team. It is really well managed and the service and food is spectacular. From the moment you get in the Amanyara car at the airport you know that you are going to have a special experience. Housekeeping and daily amenities in the room put a smile on our face. Can't wait to return!

Last week, my wife and I returned from a fabulous stay at Amanyara. The resort is architecturally one of the most distinguished we have stayed at. Asian in style, the resort consists of a number of pavilions beautifully placed above a series of man-made pools. The swimming pool is situated in front of the bar with a commanding view of the ocean, with chairs, day beds and pavilions for lounging and unobstructed views of the most stunning sunsets we have witnessed. One cannot say enough how spectacular the water and beaches are in the Turks and Caicos Islands; it must be the finest in the Caribbean. Our room, was located in a separate cottage; modern and clean with windows on all sides. The space included a huge bathroom with all the modern amenities and a very large private swimming pool (you can do laps) with a view of a surrounding forest that provided much privacy. The food was very good; particularly the local lobster and the pizza at the beachside restaurant. We chose a three meal all- inclusive (excluding drinks and bottled water) meal plan that covered everything that we ordered. A big shout out to the staff who were responsive, friendly and truly interested in getting to know their guests especially our Brazilian waiter at the main restaurant (sorry we forgot his name.) On our arrival we were met by the general manager, Tom Rutherford, and under his auspices, service was excellent in every area of the resort. There were many activities at Amayarna which we did not take advantage of and chose instead to enjoy relaxing in complete idleness.

I can’t believe I would be writing a bad review on a AMAN hotel. From the moment we landed in Turks we were with high expectations of this Valentine’s Day weekend in AMANYARA. What a disappointment. The airport service in Turks is awful all employees are y friendly and very dirty. I would have thought that AMANYARA would have set up pick up and fast track which they said they did but did not. (By the way don’t spend the extra money on Fast track in Turks and Caicos it’s a complete ripoff). We waited outside the airport for over 30 mins. We kept saying we needed a ride to AMANYARA and they didn’t have our name on list. Finally the taxi people in airport were able to wave down a 2010 Cadillac Escalade. Right from there I knew the trip was not going to be good. My husband and I travel a lot and we can rank from the top 5 starts hotel in the world to 3 stars hotel depending on the reason of trip. So to come to AMANYARA and get a 3 star service is very sad. So many staff and no one knew your name. No one checked on you. We would have to get our own towels in pool and would have to constantly ask for assistant in anything. You would think 23k for 4 nights you would get top notch service. The rooms were never clean well. They would just come in and make the bed once a day. If you want to visit a A-1 service aman hotel close to USA go to AMANERA. This hotel was a complete joke and disappointment to AMAN line and sad part every person we spoke too had the same opinion. I repeat do not spend your money here.
