If you slept through the entire weekend, you might have missed the news: singer-songwriter Miranda Lambert announced she had a boyfriend! Wait no. She announced that she had a boyfriend, and that she and that boyfriend are now married! Sharing the news on Instagram with a post of her in her stunning lace gown hugging her other half, Miranda wrote:
"In honor of Valentine’s Day I wanted to share some news. I met the love of my life. And we got hitched!" Lambert wrote on Instagram. "My heart is full. Thank you Brendan McLoughlin for loving me for…. me. #theone"
So just who is the new hubby? Keeping with the "blue" part of "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue," Miranda fell head over cowboy boots for Staten Island NYPD officer Brendan McLoughlin.
After breaking up with Blake Shelton a few years back, she had a couple of short relationships with other guys. But then she met 27-year old hot cop Brendan. Sparks flew, and we know they've already been married for a time. But exactly how long is anyone's guess! We love when celebs wed with non-famous people, and McLoughlin might now be the most famous officer in the entire NYPD.
A runner, he won the NYPD 5k race and is shown on the official NYPD twitter account as a cop with top honors. From community policing in Times Square to apprehending a bank robber during a real-life stickup, he's a hero in blue who puts his life on the line to protect the city of New York. We're swooning!
This week these fine officers showed what we do best in #Midtown. PO McLoughlin apprehended perpetrator in a bank robbery in progress & PO Donato had a pick up arrest of a truck burglary closing out several open complaints. Job well done guys!! #ItsWhatWeDo #NYPDprotecting pic.twitter.com/7SooN2O9GS

With his Abercrombie good looks, it's no surprise Brendan tried his hand at modeling when he was 19. We aren't sure how far it went, but we're glad he decided to join the NYPD instead. And even more glad that he and Miranda met. With their age difference (he's 27 and she's 35), being a cop in the Big Apple must make him mature beyond his years! To make matters even more interesting, Brendan just had a child born from a previous relationship. That means not only is he a new dad, but Miranda is a step-mom now!
Miranda's gown was designed by NYC-based Lela Rose Bridal, a designer who has provided threads for international icons like Michelle Obama. How the two met is a little bit mysterious, but a source told People Brendan was working security on the day Miranda was in Manhattan to go on TV and perform in Time's Square.

This lucky cop must have somehow gotten the superstar's phone number! We wonder who approached who...but either way, the rest was history.
Here's to many years of happy marriage for this glowing (semi) newlywed couple!
