We love Delta Airlines...but probably not as much as this quirky Tennessee couple. Bess Wohlner first met Jeremy Simons in Rabbinical school, frequently taking school-related Delta flights out of Los Angeles. heir fates were getting closer to sealed later on, when they finally realized they shared the same obsession: loyalty toward flying on Delta Airlines as their travel mode of choice. Each realizing they had found someone equally obsessed with Delta, they did a "mileage run" together, spending almost 48 hours flying from city to city just to rack up extra SkyMiles. But after their epic travel marathon (where they never left the airport), they went separate ways.
Fast forward to years later: by chance, the duo ran into each other again, reconnecting on a Delta flight from New York to Tel Aviv, Israel. That's when they knew they should have gotten together a long time earlier. But hey, better late than never.
The couple decided to marry in their home town of Memphis, Tennessee. And for their "Save the Date" mailings, the couple used cards decorated with Delta's "Diamond Status" logos, and guests on the big day received Delta amenity bags. For the aisle itself, the couple walked down blue carpeting just like Delta's SkyPriority gate lines. The color scheme for the occasion was, of course, Delta blue.
Oh, and the fun photo booth at the reception? It featured a green screen behind a pair of Delta seats with oxygen masks, siumulating the interior of a Delta flight. As for the cake, it was served on beverage carts just like they have on every Delta airplane.
What about the honeymoon, you ask? Well, these high-flying lovebirds jet-setted to multiple cities to keep racking up those SkyMiles, hitting Sri Lanka, Scotland, Seattle, Amsterdam, and more! We guess that when you've got Diamond Status and as many SkyMiles racked up as these two, you can honeymoon all over the world.
