Update: The "enormous rock" on Jennifer's finger turned out to be nothing but. The good news is, it's an engagement ring, and means Jen might be the least materialistic superstar in all of Hollywood!
It's official: Hunger Games superstar Jennifer Lawrence is now engaged to Cooke Maroney, director of a Manhattan art gallery. One of Jennifer's reps allegedly confirmed the news to People magazine, so the only question now is when the big wedding will be.
But wait a minute. Jennifer's Instagram page takes a coy approach, referring to herself in the third person: "It is apparently confirmed by Jens rep: JEN IS ENGAGED to Cooke Maroney! (pictured above) 👍🏽" Did Jen's rep not actually confirm it? Is this Jen saying so, while she also confirms it herself? Or are the reports about her engagement just fake news?

Well, Page Six reports that she was spotted with a "massive ring" on dates with Cooke. In fact, the engagement ring sports a rock huge enough that it might even pull objects into its orbit -- appropriate, given the fact that it's being worn by a superstar. Introduced by a mutual friend, the pair was most recently seen celebrating at a NYC-based French restaurant called Raoul's.
Lawrence, a Kentucky native, was previously dating director Darren Aronovsky. Aronovsky directed Mother!, which Jennifer also starred in. Cooke runs Gladstone 64, a prestigious New York art gallery showcasing the works of prominent artists including -- wait for it -- Lena Dunham's father. Oh, what a small towns Hollywood and NYC become when you're famous!
The two were confirmed to be dating sometime around June, so they haven't been together for super long. Are they rushing it, or is it just a case of love at first sight? We know they haven't been bashful about going on dates in public. Some might even say they've been flaunting their relationship. If that's the case, hey -- we're feeling the love, so more power to them!
