Mona Lisa is the newest AirBnB Superhost! The Louvre Museum in Paris just ran a contest with AirBnB to allow a lucky couple to have a three-night honeymoon in Paris, including one full evening in the Louvre. They're the first couple in centuries to stay overnight at the museum, making their honeymoon truly historical.
The couple had the Mona Lisa hanging in their "living room," and slept in a posh bed within the Louvre's rooftop pyramid. But that's only the beginning. They were treated to an entire evening of completely unforgettable, totally one-of-a-kind experiences: dinner with Venus, a private acoustic concert in Napoleon's apartment, an after-hours VIP tour of the museum, a night beneath the stars in the glass pyramid, and a Parisian breakfast in bed to top it all off in the morning.
Dinner with Venus de Milo, the famous statue thought to be the work of Antioch, sounds especially romantic.
But a private concert in Napoleon III's opulent apartments might just take the cake. Then again, cocktails with the Mona Lisa sounds perfectly intimate as well...
Oh, forget it. We can't pick the most romantic part of this contest, because the entire thing is like something out of a movie. Like Night at the Museum meets the best love story ever.
So who's the lucky couple? Meet 26-year old Daniela and 29-year old Adam, who were selected for having the best answer to the question "Why would you be the perfect guest for Mona Lisa?" We're desperate to know their answer, but it's being kept under lock and key!
As for the occasion, the sweepstakes helped honor the 30-year anniversary of the Louvre's pyramid. Meanwhile, it also commemorated AirBnB's 10th anniversary. We totally think the Louvre should start doing this every year...but if not, that only makes this couple's experience all the more exclusive. Hats off to them!
