Yelton Manor Boutique Hotel B&B

The mansion is charming, romantic, and cozy. The breakfast was very good. Wonderful decor and an amazing collection of books. Well located in the heart of South Haven, on the shores of Lake Michigan. It was a snowy , fun getaway for Valentines Day weekend.

I would highly recommend. I loved all the reading material throughout the house and spent two evening reading in one of the spaces set aside for just that. Good and healthy breakfast with a kick-ass blueberry coffee cake each morning. Location does not get any better as we walked the beach in the morning. I hated to leave.

I would rate 4.5 stars if that was an option. We loved our stay. Main house and guest house were very clean. the owners are hard workers and easy to talk to. Breakfast was delicious, it’s supposed to be served 8-10am. On our first morning, Victoria overslept and came out at 9am to cook. We were not on a schedule, so it didn’t bother us and these things can happen sometimes…There’s a little store around the corner that sells alcohol and ice. It’s a short walk to the beach and you can see a little bit of the water from the house. We stayed in the Avery Beach room in the guest house. There is pretty stained glass above the bed and it lets in a lot of light. We could not get our room dark enough at night. The main floor felt nice and cool, but our room on 2nd floor was very warm. There was a fan in the room though, so that helped. There is one mirror in the bathroom, no mirror in bedroom. No toothpaste provided.

Man oh man is this place fantastic! Room was great, staff could not be more friendly/helpful, and the breakfasts were on point) gluten/dairy free options for my better half). Brownies, homemade carmels, Bundt cake, and Lindt truffle snacks too. Hosts and staff felt like family.

Our two-day stay couldn't have been more delightful. The interior was stunning, our room was large, tidy, and cozy. We got the romance package and we loved the roses and enjoyed the wine and chocolate-covered strawberries. Breakfast offered a variety of options and was customized to our liking. I have loved every moment of this experience and if given the chance, i would book to stay here once again.

We added the romance package for our honeymoon, and the roses were beautiful and the wine and chocolate covered strawberries were delicious. Breakfast had several choices and was made to order. Evening brownies and coffee were an extra indulgence Will definitely return

My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with a 3 night stay. We honeymooned here as well in 2013. The Yelton Manor is still a beautiful property and excellent location. We did miss the charm, hospitality and enthusiasm of the original owners & staff, but all things change in some way and the current owner and staff are doing a pretty good job of sustaining this gem. Breakfast was excellent, morning coffee cake and afternoon brownies-delicious. The whole place was clean and inviting. I personally want this Bed & Breakfast to stay a fixture in S. Haven and hopefully carry on what has made it so great. I/we would love to share our insights with the owner as it is a special place to us.

Pick one of the larger rooms with a fireplace. We had a jacuzzi tub that I couldn’t make work—was told to “push the button” but I couldn’t find button 🙄. So if you get a jacuzzi, ask someone to come and show you how to operate it (unless you can find the button 😬). Charming gardens. The beach is right across the street. What’s not to like?

The walls are paper thin enough said !!! We could hear every word said and every umm deed done, Breakfast was so so ... I suspect it was out of a microwave. Staff was not very friendly. The place was clean on the plus side.

We just completed our second visit to Yelton Manor, and we enjoyed it just as much as last year. Each room is different; this year we selected the smallest option, the Ivy Room on the second floor facing North Shore Drive. The room was quiet despite facing the road. It was small but not impossibly so, with a double bed, ample room for a suitcase, a large wardrobe, and a small church pew for sitting. The bathroom was more spacious than the one we had last year in a bigger room. As others have mentioned, this adults-only B&B is clean, comfortable, attractive, and well located across from a small public beach and a 10 minute walk to South Haven’s downtown. One especially nice aspect of Yelton is its many cozy public areas, so no matter what size your room, you can enjoy other areas for reading, socializing, or playing games. Yelton is filled with books and games. The gardens and outdoor patio are lovely. South Haven is a vacation destination, so breakfast doesn’t start until 8am. Not to worry, early risers: coffee, juice, and coffeecake is available (self-serve) much earlier. Breakfasts are cooked to order from a selection of about a half dozen options, including savory as well as sweet. Breakfast can be enjoyed in one of the two dining areas or the screen porch. We never had trouble finding parking in their lot. Yelton staff are helpful and nice. Beach towels are provided on request, and the Manor has added an outdoor faucet to wash sand off your feet. This luxury B&B is worth it! This second visit will not be our last.

4.5 The BB is definitely one the best I have stayed in. The adult only atmosphere made our couples weekend perfect. I loved the library of books throughout the home and all of the different categories in which they were separated. The location is great. Their is a public beach across the street, a deli around the corner and a coffee shop down the street. Town is an easy walk of about 10 minutes. The only thing I found disappointing was the lack of antiques from the Victorian era. For example oír bed was just simply a mattress on a platform. It had no head board, footboard, or bed posts; only fluffy pillows. Also, a small refrigerator is available for guests down near the kitchen but individual rooms do not have one, which is inconvenient for your medicine. Also, there is not an ice machine to fill a cooler to carry to the beach.

Perfect example of a great adults only B&B! We’ve stayed at Yelton Manor multiple times as it’s close enough to home, but feels like a quick, relaxing getaway. The accommodations are super clean and comfy. There are cozy nooks for two throughout, indoor and outdoor seating areas if you’re feeling social, and even games to play if the weather outside isn’t friendly. There are also thousands of books for anyone’s reading enjoyment. We definitely enjoy the adults only atmosphere and its intimate and cozy decor. We appreciate the privacy and quiet with the option to mingle in common areas with other guests for breakfast or conversations. The brownies are killer too! One of the best part of our visits are the delicious breakfasts in the mornings. Victoria is wonderful, professional, and friendly. We would highly recommend this unique place for an overnight visit or an extended stay!

This lovely place was perfect for us. We were greated and shown around the home in a warm manner. This home was impeccably clean in every area that I looked, the lighting gave a relaxing ambiance in all the rooms, had a comfortable bed, and many inviting sitting areas. A delicious, fresh, homemade breakfast was prepared for us and the coffee, tea selection, and orange juice were very good. The fresh fruit was perfect. There were the most decadent brownies in the evening, tasty breads in the morning, and quality chocolates offered in pretty dishes around the home. This made me happy to walk around the home and find chocolate. It was a special touch that spoke to me. We enjoyed that this home was walking distance from the beach that was directly across the street and the town with shopping and restaurants. It felt like a safe area to walk around. We're in our early 50's so the stairs to our room were not a problem. We stayed in the anniversary suite on the 3rd floor and the jacuzzi worked perfectly. It was a quiet area of the home during our stay. This place was cozy and clean( worth mentioning again). We would stay here again.

Very clean, comfortable & friendly. Breakfast was made to order & delicious! Thete are fresh yummy brownies and chocolate candies when you come into house. Great location from lake Michigan & town.
