Resort had a very smoky mountain feel. Made up in cabin like decor. Since we went in December we couldn't use all the facilities, like pools n hot tubs. There are no elevators , so if you have a lot of luggage be prepared to lug them up 2 or 3 flights of stairs . It's is located in a good location about 8-10 between Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge. The rooms decor was nice. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant n bar are average at best. We had no kids so we did not use the Waterpark. The experience was kind of off to a bad start. When we arrived the room was at 60 degrees and the temperature was 33 outside. We attempted to turn the heat up but by 11 pm it was only at 63. No higher. Attempted to call desk or maintenance but no one picked up. Went to front desk in the morning to complain. They sent maintenance who began with removal of air filter there had to be 2" of dirt on it. Disgusting. Another maintenance man came up was able to fix the adjustment. Just as a final note. The rooms lacks quality control. Kitchen cabinets were loose and had only basic accessories. Bathroom door didn't completely open, hitting the door frame. Dishwasher wasn't even bolted in.

This place is awesome. The unit was very nice. The restaurant Southern Comfort was amazing. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was on point. The staff was accommodating and very pleasant and nice. I will go back. This was the best mini vacation ever.

Normally l like to end with the good, but in this case there's not much, so let's start with The Good... My wife and I stayed at WestGate resorts in Gatlinburg between Oct 26 - Oct 30 and the Smoky It's did not disappoint. It was beautiful, Cades Cove was spectacular. Oh, WestGate. The room was nice size, full kitchen, balcony. The views from the top of the property was excellent. We didn't eat at there restaurant but the food smelled good. They did have a free shuttle to take you into Gatlinburg, the wait was a bit long thou. The Bad... The reservation said the room had a DVD player, it did not. Just a hole in the wall under the T.V. we had to call maintenance because the refrigerator sounded like a bad engine trying to start. It never got fixed. All the air conditioning and heating units were right outside our bedroom windows. The hot tub at the top of the property was hot, but no jets. So it was a bit like taking a bath. There bar at the same location, which was open closed without notice for the rest of the season. Very disappointing. And now for...The Ugly... On day two around sunset my wife and I were walking down the road on the way to the resorts market. We crossed the road in front of the security booth and a 10 seat golf cart stop sideways in the road. I noticed the the guy driving was looking over his shoulder. When my wife and I passed in front the dummy stepped on the gas a hit me in the leg. I slammed my hands on the front of the cart and he stopped. His response was "my bad". Which did not sit well with me and then his next comment was most people use the crosswalk, a simple apologie would have taken care of everything. But he felt after hitting me, a "my bad" was a sufficient apology. I went into the lodge, and stepped up to the front desk looking for a manager. His name was David. His response was "we can't make him apologize". and I'm busy" he then commented "you need to go back to the security booth and file a report, and locate his name". He wouldn't do it and would not send anyone down with me. Basically no apology from David as well and I had to do his job. The security booth pulled the video footage found his name and saw the same thing I was reporting. I was told I should hear back with in 24-48 hrs. This never happened. 3 days later we left for home with a piece of paper with the report number and 4 names to call. I called one name "Keith S" no return call. I called and did speak with Waldemar Cantero. Both in the Department of Safety and Security. His response was just as bad. No apology, they cant make the driver apologize and said they will make the guy driving the golf cart take another course in driving after all the double talk Waldemer ended by saying they have done all they will and can do. Westgate should be ashamed of themselves. Lack of effort, and rude. Westgate Resorts is a joke at best, an un safe place to stay. There a so many other choices to stay from 4 start hotels to cabins, b&b, camping. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Westgate. It's not worth it.

Westgate’s NASCAR Experience – As a NASCAR fan, I was excited to try Westgate’s NASCAR Experience package. Overall, the experience had some high points, but it also came with frustrations, particularly when it came to communication and organization. Here’s a detailed breakdown of my trip: The NASCAR Experience We had seats in the Jeff Gordon Terrace for the Xfinity Race and the Cup race as well as GA for the Craftsman Truck race. The view from the backstretch in the Jeff Gordon terrace was excellent, and the location gave us a perfect vantage point to enjoy the races. Definitely a highlight. The motorcoach shuttle was available for transportation to and from the race, though it came with an additional fee. It was nice to have this option, especially since you could drink on the bus, which a lot of people clearly enjoyed. That said, the crowd on our bus was loud and obnoxious due to heavy drinking, but it seemed like they were having fun, even if it wasn’t our vibe. The VIP Welcome Party was where we picked up our tickets. They had an open bar, a "buffet," and NASCAR bingo. We didn’t drink, but we did try to eat. The “buffet” was more of a very limited selection, consisting of pork, potato salad, and slaw, which wasn’t quite what we were expecting. We ended up leaving early to explore other activities off the resort. Westgate Resort The resort itself was quite nice. Our condo was spacious, with a private balcony, a jacuzzi, and a well-equipped kitchen (though we didn’t cook). The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the washer and dryer in the unit were a convenient touch. Overall, the suite exceeded our expectations and felt like a relaxing place to retreat to after the races. The Check-in Process Check-in was a bit chaotic, with everyone arriving at 4 p.m. This is where the cracks in Westgate’s organization really started to show. The times for our timeshare presentation and VIP party on the itinerary didn’t match what I had arranged with the person who booked our package over the phone. We managed to get the timeshare presentation changed, but not the VIP party, which required us to shuffle our plans around. Since the party was where we had to pick up our tickets, skipping it wasn’t an option. Another frustration was that I was promised a ride-along with a NASCAR driver or a $100 gift card when I booked, but upon arrival, I found out that ride-alongs aren’t even offered at Bristol. We weren’t the only ones misled, and many guests ended up switching to the gift card option last minute. The shuttle reservation process was also a mess. I was told to make shuttle arrangements upon arrival, but it turns out that should have been done in advance. Thankfully, Jennifer, who was running the NASCAR experience, worked tirelessly to fix the issue. She was a rock star the entire weekend, handling problems and last-minute changes with grace. Honestly, Jennifer deserves a raise for keeping things running smoothly despite all the disorganization. The Timeshare Presentation This is where things took a major downturn for us. Based on our experience, we would never consider purchasing a timeshare from Westgate. The 90-minute presentation turned into a grueling 3-hour ordeal filled with high-pressure sales tactics. The bad vibes started before the presentation even began. While waiting in line, one of the promotional staff members made a comment that was incredibly inappropriate. She touched my stomach and asked if I was pregnant. After I told her no, she proceeded to ask if I had just had a baby, which was particularly hurtful because I had suffered a miscarriage last month. This set a really negative tone for the whole experience with feelings of embarrassment as well as hurtfulness from someone that’s suppose to work in promotions. We met with our salesman, CJ, who initially promised to keep things quick and pressure-free. That turned out to be far from the truth. After three long hours of saying “no” in every possible way, CJ’s attitude shifted. By the end, he was visibly upset and turned his chair away from us. To top it all off, when we went to pick up our gift card, we weren’t even in the system. This led to more back-and-forth between the check-in desk and the gifting room, an issue that several other guests were dealing with as well. Final Thoughts The NASCAR VIP Experience offered some great moments—especially the races themselves and the comfort of the resort’s accommodations. However, the disorganization, lack of communication, and overall poor handling of the timeshare presentation soured the experience for us. If you’re a NASCAR fan, the VIP package offers an incredible opportunity to get up close to the sport, but be prepared for some frustrations along the way. Westgate has a lot of room for improvement when it comes to communication and customer service, but thanks to people like Jennifer, who truly care about their guests, some of the issues were manageable. Westgate Resorts and Westgate Experience are two separate things under one brand with lots of fingers pointing back and forth for everything that goes wrong. Oh, and the ladies in the gifting room were also amazing. One worker actually walked with us to and from the lobby to help resolve our issues. She and Jennifer both were the ONLY ONES that offered extra assistance. Everything else was fend for yourself.

The worst place ever! When we got there the room was dirty! There was woman’s underwear on the floor, candy on the floor,pubic hair in the tub, couldn’t use jacuzzi tub because the plug didn’t work,blood on my sheets,mud on the floors, and the carpets are disgusting! We called the front desk and it was hours that evening before the guy even came to look at the room and get my pictures I took. He said he would send someone to clean it and put us in a different room the next day, that never happened! We ordered a pizza and swam and that night I got really sick throwing up all night and next day. Probably from the filthiness of the room or food poisoning! Still no different room. They said they would charge me $500 if I didn’t go to hospital and get a doctors note for missing the time share presentation which I would never buy into a time share there!!! So they day after I finally started to feel a little better I was still sick and very weak but I called the corporate and they were very rude and mad and bulling me! I also called the desk again and they said they were going to change our sheets finally and of course still hadn’t! So we got to stay in a dirty room being bullied because I’m sick and COULDN’T make the time share pitch! This place is a joke!!

We were gifted a week here after my husband and I got married. We were so excited and ready to relax and enjoy Gatlinburg. When we first checked in we were asked what dinner and shows we were looking into and was told they can give us tickets at a discount and told us all the tickets are VIP. Little did we know this entailed going to a meeting 2 days after we arrived with a $50 deposit. None of our tickets were VIP. When we arrived to our room, at first glance it was nice. However after walking around, attention to detail when cleaning can definitely be improved. For example there was dirt on the light switches. The room did not smell fresh and clean. The sheets and towels smelled musty- I went to Walmart and bought my own laundry soap and bleach and rewashed everything. When we turned on the TV - they give you maybe 20 channels and half of them are in Spanish. So, on that Walmart trip we bought a Roku just so we can enjoy something in the room. The day of the “meeting” we let them know we have an appointment at 12pm at the spa which we were promised we would be out before then. The concierge people are relentless and even brought out foreclosure units just so they can get a sale. My husband and I both expressed we just had a big wedding and are unable to make a purchase like this right now multiple times and multiple people came to us trying to get a sale. We were late to our appointment and had to reschedule. A corporate representative who stated she has been with the company for 32 years came over to try to get a sale from us and she was so unprofessional to the concierge employee and belittling him. The day we were checking out-As soon as I opened the door to load the car there was a huge bag of towels blocking the way of me leaving. We had 2 housekeepers literally waiting at the door while we were loading bags in the car and even tried to come in at one point and we expressed we had more things to get. It was so uncomfortable I even left with my slippers on. Check out is at 10AM and this was a little before 9AM. We were there for 5 days and were wondering where all these shuttles were going and coming. We were never told there was shuttling services if we would like to go down to the lobby, restaurant, waterpark, etc. They offered us a great deal for a vacation and it was affordable, however, after staying here I will never stay at another Westgate again and much rather pay more somewhere else then return. We are not picky visitors, don’t complain when we stay somewhere. But, I needed to come on here and share our experience to hopefully help someone out.

This place was amazing. All of the staff were so nice and accommodating. The amenities were also very good, the gym was nice, and the pool/hot tub was great too. The location is about in the middle of Gatlinburg and piegon forge so it wasn’t far from either spot. The only reason why I’d give this place 4 stars instead of 5 was because the walls were very thin. We stayed on the bottom floor, and we heard lots of movement from upstairs, especially late at night when we were trying to sleep. Our neighbors did laundry at midnight and the loudness from the machine kept us up super late. However I would definitely come back to this resort and I’ve already recommended it to my friends! Also, the restaurant at the hotel was probably my favorite bite I had my entire trip!
