Have stayed many times at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando over the years . It’s got a rich bright airy feel to it. Clean as can be . Rooms are nicely laid out . As the years go by, as with many top luxury hotels I’ve stayed in , the service is usually lacking . And it’s not the workers fault as much as it’s limited staffing .
My recent stay , my room wasn’t cleaned before 2pm. At that point , I turned off the service light because I wanted to just relax in my room before dinner . I saw about 5 rooms near mine that still had their green service lights on. Front desk had only 1 person. No one to ask if you need something or to ask a question . I found the front valet guys extremely helpful and attentive . There was an Indian Asian wedding going on this weekend and I had a feeling it would last a few days and involve a large amount of attendees so I checked out early to avoid the crowds and worsening service issues .

My recent stay at the Waldorf was amazing
From the daily credit use as a loyalty for being a gold member, to the spacious rooms and daily shuttles to and from the park.
We 100% would come back here !
The only reason I’ve not given it 5 stars are for two reasons
1. The charge to use the spa was extortionate. I don’t mind paying to use elite spa facilities but I think $165 per person is far to much
2. Because I’m such a sensitive sleeper having a room that’s facing towards the road was too loud for me.
They thankfully were amazing and rectified the situation the next day for this and I am very grateful ! The staff did go above and beyond to make us happy !

If you are used to 5* Service (outside of USA) then in comparison this delivers maybe a 3*

Hotel is lovely.
We went for a Suite with Balcony and the room was nice.
Unfortunately it was only the aesthetics that were good, everything else was poor.
Food was not good at any of the restaurants. In room dining was diabolical. I ordered a spaghetti bolognaise & it tasted like a 6 year old had cooked it.
Chicken (no matter what the dish) was cooked until it was dry.
I ordered an Apple Crumble with custard which was completely cold (it's the first time I had it like that) and everyone was shocked when I asked for it to be warmed (it felt like I was in some sort of comedy show).
None of the dishes had been well thought out or well prepared. Zero presentation, you could tell staff did not take pride in what they produced.
No flavour, I think the chefs should taste the food before sending it out.
Shower was broken we asked that it be fixed, it took 2 engineers over 2 visits to fix it which was a joke because it just required a set of pliers to tighten the shower hose to the water pipe.
Housekeeping was awful.
Rude women.
Incomplete service every time & we stayed for a week.
We ran out of tissues during the second night of our stay and they were never replaced. I expect it was because we stopped tipping.
Generally we found the attitude of staff to be poor.
We won't be back.
The Waldorf is not for everyone but by American standards it is 5*, let's hope they never experience any of the hotels in the Middle East who deliver a 7* service no matter what.
In our view completely overpriced for what we received.
If the hotel charges these kinds of prices then the service has to come with it, not one or the other.
Hotel staff (not housekeeping) were ignorant.
They need diversity and inclusion training.
On simple inquiries they could not provide answers which was ridiculous.
Explanations provided by staff for things being wrong were poor.
They lacked emotional intelligence and people skills across the board. They were already defensive even before you opened your mouth.
None of the requests we made were unreasonable & the outcome was poor every time and after the first four hours/ first day we began to question why we even bothered staying there when there was so much choice.

I will always return to this hotel. This hotel sets the standards of what a 5 star hotel should be. The lobby and rooms are in pristine condition and housekeeping does an exceptional job at maintaining this standard even when guests are occupying the rooms. I was quite thrilled to see my clothes being folded and my personal products well laid out for me upon my return to the room on the first day.
Moreover, the service provided by all members of staff is superb! Nothing is too much for the employees at this hotel. They will go above and beyond to ensure their guests receive the best treatment.
I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone. You will not be disappointed!
