Location is the best as well - walking distance to everything (beach is 15 mins drive)

Amazingly wonderful room on the Bay side. Was pleasantly surprised to see the boat parade from our balcony. Bed was comfortable as well as the pillows. Was on 7th floor and not sure if shower needed plunging or not but, after a bit you were standing ankle deep in water. (I forgot to notify the front desk of this upon departure.) Sorry for those who get room 766. This resort does not carry Coke products but, Room Service could get it but, that is basically all. Paul's Restaurant, a bartender went somewhere on the premises to get a 12 pack of Diet Coke for a resort guest but, on a separate evening, a different bartender told me to get it from room service. So much to do the weekend we were there. I would definitely come back to the Vinoy. (I'd bring my own Coke product.)😊 Everything is in walking distance.

Disappointed with accommodations and property. Our reservation was for a king bed, resort view, balcony. What we were given was a patio (1st floor) with a slivered “view” of the sky. When seated on the “balcony” the only view was a hedge with swarming bees and some trash. The hotel exit door nearest our room was difficult to open and close. Once we forced the door open and shut, we were unable to use our pass key to reopen the door. The mechanism to open the door was inoperative. There appears to be an area to the side of the guest tower for pets to use as a relief area. There was a stand/post on the relief area that suggested there were relief bags to use to clean up after your pet. The stand had no bags. The restaurant, Paul’s Landing, had pieces of food under the table as well as small pieces of trash. Looking out over the trash and pieces of food while eating just wasn’t acceptable. Very disappointing. Our nightly fee of $500+ presented us with an expectation, and we looked forward to visiting the Vinoy. In actuality, the property shows significant signs of distress, unkept common areas and an average (at best) hotel stay.

The hotel rooms were nice , but the had only two restaurants, neither of which was good. We went there for a tennis weekend, but unfortunately the tennis courts were not well maintained. We will not return.
For a three star hotel, we were very disappointed.

My wife and I attended my nephew's wedding at The Vinoy a week ago. It was our first visit to The Vinoy and we really enjoyed our stay there. The resort itself is very impressive. It has a lot of history to it - it is nearly 100 years old but is by no means outdated. Everything at the resort was wonderful. We loved our room and the lunch at Paul's Landing. Try the blackened mahi mahi fish tacos. Also, our nephew's wedding and reception at the resort was like something out of a fairy tale. Carol Petzoldt, the rooms operations manager, made sure that everything was exceptional. It was the most well-run wedding my wife and I have ever attended. In fact, all the staff at the resort was very professional and went out of their way to accommodate us. They were the friendliest resort staff that I have ever seen. Special thanks to spa manager, Christine, to concierge staff Bridget and Kevin, and to valets Luis and Bob. For anyone who wishes to enjoy an exceptional resort experience, I highly recommend The Vinoy.

My husband and I spent his birthday at Labor Day weekend. We have been there before and really enjoyed the pool and the cascading waterfall not to mention the richness of the hotel’s history and its fabulous lobby. We were disappointed about not being informed ahead of check-in that the pool was not open. We had to be shuttled to the golf resort to use the pool. The resort fee was waived and gave us late check-out.
Pros:
1- Beautifully maintained facilities
2- Close proximity to The Pier, bars and restaurants.
3- Very nice and well appointed rooms
4- The tennis pro found us a couple for tennis.
5- Instagrammable lobby.
6- Golf resort restaurant was quiet and food was great. Servers were very attentive to our needs.
Cons:
1- Lack of hooks in the rooms.
2- We missed out on the US Open tennis. ESPN was not in their program subscription anymore.
3- There was a breakdown of communication due probably to staff shortage.
Overall, our stay was wonderful and we would go there again.

We’re still here but we simply love the Autograph Collection. The hotel is stunning with beautiful rooms, very friendly staff and an excellent location. Coming from overseas we weren’t sure if we had to pick a beach or city location for St Pete but so glad we choose the Vinoy and its downtown location. The main pool is undergoing unexpected maintenance but they shuttle you to their golf course pool and you don’t get to pay the daily resort fee. They work hard to fix it. In all honesty we like the golf pool and to swim in a different setting. The pastries they sell in the lobby are expensive but delicious. It just depends what staff member helps you out there. We unf. experienced some arrogance when we bought 2 pastries. It is rented out to a French pastry chef so it’s probably not Marriott staff, because all other staff members we’re simply amazing. In terms of food we tried breakfast at Paul’s Landing which was excellent. Lunch we enjoyed by the pool of the golf course. It is also excellent. We can highly recommend this hotel.

It does need more food options and room service options too. All the staff presented themselves in a professional manner and at all times they were very polite. The atmosphere is very good at the hotel for couples. The spa was great for a couples massage as well. Have an another stay booked in October.

Wonderful stay and thank you for the beautiful upgraded room with two balconies and a lucky number! The Vinoy is a beautiful updated historical property in a prime location in St Pete. The pool is large and relaxing with attendants available for ordering drinks and food but not in your face, such a pleasant change from many resort type properties. The gym area and equipment is fantastic. Valet parking is quick. A full Breakfast was included in our rate and was delicious. We are looking forward to our next visit!

For a hotel with a high price point including a resort fee, the service at check in and check out was unsatisfactory . The front desk staff service overall was inconsistent ranging from friendly and very helpful to rude, aloof, and disinterested.
My first impression: we travelled overnight with a redeye flight. Prior to the flight, I received an email from the hotel asking about my time of arrival. I emailed back that I’m traveling overnight and should be arriving at the hotel around 11AM. Check in time at the hotel is 4pm. I received a reply that the my early check in was noted and that they would try to accommodate.
First, when we arrived at the hotel, there was no one to help with the luggage. Not a big deal but very odd for a hotel charging about $600/night. When we went to the front desk, there was one guest waiting there. There was no front desk staff at all. We waited in line for about 10 minutes before anyone showed up.. There was probably no one at the front desk for 15-20 minutes. By that time, there was a long line-up at the front desk. Eventually, three staff member showed up but only 1 dealing with hotel guests. The other one was using the front desk computer and the 3rd person was doing something in the background. When it was our turn, the front desk person, M, did not say hello or greet us in anyway. She was apologetic to the guest before us because of the long delay but did not give any apology to us.
I told her we were checking in and she ask for my name , id, and credit card. Usually the front desk staff confirms the reservation details. She only asked about our check out date.
When I mentioned the early check in and about the email I received regarding early check in, M said she did not see any notes and kept repeating, “Guaranteed check in is at 4pm”. When I again repeated that I received an email from guest services about the note in reservation, she just smiled and looked at me.
I told her that my wife and I are exhausted and would appreciate if she could help, but she kept repeating, “Guaranteed check in is at 4pm”. I asked if she could give an ETA on a room but she repeated, “Guaranteed check-in is at 4pm.” She did not seem interested in helping us get a room early. She did not appear to even check to see if our room was ready. She did say we would be called when are room was ready and she did call the porter. She seemed to want to get rid of us and move on to other guests.
We sat in the lobby for about 30 minutes. I had not received a call about our room. We went back to the front desk when M was no longer there. Her front desk colleague was, by contrast, very friendly and accommodating. She gave service that I was expecting from a hotel like the Vinoy. She said that our room was actually ready. This is why I became upset enough to email hotel management to give them this feedback. Our room was actually ready or atleast almost ready but M did not seem to care or she seemed to refuse to consider any early check-ins at all despite the email I received from about a note in our reservation and our request for an early check-in.
Hotel management by contrast was very accommodating. They apologized for the way we treated and tried to make it up to us by giving us a bottle of wine and having desserts and a cheese platter sent to our room.
By the way, the Marriott Bonvoy app allows for requests for early check-in to the Vinoy. You have to enter your time of arrival and give atleast 1 hour notice to allow for time to prepare the room. It is unfortunate that not all of the front desk staff at the Vinoy provide this service.
The room itself was nice. We were happy with the cleanliness and amenities. Housekeeping was fairly good. They did not clean our room on 1 day (we were our of our room from 8am to 5pm and there was no “do not disturb sign out”), but the housekeeping manager was apologetic and immediately had our room serviced.
The breakfast restaurant was on the other side of the resort. Service was very slow. We easily waited about 10 minutes each morning before a waiter showed up at our table- and we were not the only ones. The restaurant was also not busy at the time. The food was good and the service, once the waiter showed up, was fine.
The bar was very good. The drinks were well made.
Checking out was difficult. We had an early morning flight and had to leave the hotel by 05:10. There was not an option to see my bill or check out through the TV. I called the operator to check out by phone but no one responded. When I went down to the front desk, there was a sign that said on break until 5:45. My uber driver was already at the hotel.
I spoke to the valet person named E. He was helpful and contacted the front desk person with his walkie talkie. I could hear the front desk person (male voice) say that he already clocked out and would not check me out. Through E, I asked to check out and that I can’t wait until 5:45. He said he could not do anything because he clocked out. He refused to give his name when I asked.
The night before I spoke with J at the front desk who was helpful with my hotel bill and some unexplained pending charges on my credit card (over $600). I told him that I had an early morning flight and would have to leave around 5:00AM. I told him that my TV did not show my hotel folio and did not have options for check out etc. He said that I would have to check out from the front desk and that there is always someone at the front desk who could check me out.
Long story short, the service at this hotel is very inconsistent and service at the restaurant is slow. For the price, I would not recommend unless they make changes.
