Stayed for 4 nights at the Valamar Argosy Hotel. We were allocated a Sea View room which was lovely, clean and spacious. The hotel is in a great location just 5 mins from the bus stop. Purchase the ticket from the shop in the hotel 6.90 return for 2 adults into the Old Town. The staff were all friendly, especially the dining room staff and the lady on the dining room meet and greet. Considering the hotel was closing for the season in a week they were all still working with a smile. There was plenty of choice of food, for both breakfast and evening meal. The only fault with the Restaurant was the tables were very close together, sometimes you felt as though your were having dinner as a table for 4. The views are amazing and the coves where you can swim in the sea just a short walk away. I would definitely recommend this hotel for your stay in the Babin Kuk/Lapad area

This hotel exceeded expectations - room was a good size with an amazing view, breakfast and dinner were buffet-style with plenty of options, lots of sunbeds around the pools, circular coastal path around Babin Kuk which you access from the back of the hotel, bus stop outside for no 6 bus to Dubrovnik Old Town (bus tickets available from the hotel shop), and hotel bar staff make a great Pina Colado cocktail. Nothing to fault with this hotel, we had a great holiday and hope to return soon.

An excellent hotel. Rooms are well designed and of a good size with a well equipped bathroom. The beds are are comfortable and the pilloes excellent. It is well worth paying extra for a seaview and balcony. The dining room, which is manned by friendly and efficient staff, is huge and the range of choice at both breakfast and dinner is superb. The reception staff are also exceptionally efficient, speak excellent English and offer accurate advice and information. The hotel shop sells bus tickets at a discounted rate and the fact that the hotel is at the start of the No6 bus route to the Old Town is a bonus as it means you will get a seat! The pools are well maintained - even if the water is a mite cool - with masses of loungers and umbrellasThere are several mini markets and restaurants within a short walk of the hotel and the beaches are easily reachable on foot. Excellent.

From check in to departure the experience at this hotel was spot on. The reception staff gave us lots of helpful information at check in. I had emailed to say we were celebrating a special occasion and we were provided with complimentary flowers and sparkling wine in our room, which was a lovely touch. The rooms were spacious and spotless, the bathroom had a fabulous shower. The surroundings were lovely and beautiful views, lovely maintained gardens. There was never a problem getting a sunbed, two lovely adult pools to choose from. The food was great, so much choice we felt very spoilt, the restaurant staff were really friendly and welcoming. There was live music every night which suited all genres - so nice to relax in the bar and the bar staff were brilliant . The setting was perfect for exploring the area around and so easy getting a bus to the old town in Dubrovnik. We just cannot fault anything about our stay here, it was such a lovely special holiday and would love to come back sometime ❤️

Great choice of delicious food in the buffet restaurant. Definitely worth paying for half board.
Lots of different outdoor space to relax in with comfy seating and loungers. Two lovely outdoor swimming pools- one heated, one not. The views outside were stunning.
Regarding the rooms, the beds and pillows were extremely comfy. Good choice of tv channels. I didn’t like the heavy glass door in the bathroom.
The staff at reception were efficient but could have shown more warmth and been more friendly.
Singers were on most evenings who were ok. More variety in entertainment to get people up dancing would have been good.
Tea was far too expensive at 7 Euros which is a popular drink for UK guests. Sachets of milk for tea in the room would be appreciated rather than charging for milk at the bar.
Ubers into town very quick to arrive ( within 2 minutes) costing 7 Euros.
Fitness sessions not well publicised. Only noticed 5 days in that there were aqua aerobics etc.
Overall, would definitely come back and highly recommend others.

Great hotel, with beautiful beaches surrounding. The scenes are breath taking!
The restaurant serving buffet food has so many choices.
Pool has so many sun beds so you’re never miss out.
The live music in the evening is also a lovely way to end the day
A lovely setting, peaceful hotel location with an easy bus ride to the old town. Excellent customer service, clean rooms, food and drinks were delicious and staff were kind and friendly. We couldn't be happier with our choice of hotel. Everything was perfect.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Valamar Argosy hotel in Dubrovnik. It offers a really great mix between a city break with easy access down to the old town via the number 6 bus (short walk from the hotel) and a relaxing chilled time with the lovely pool and views.
It is located within a complex that looks like it was lovely and bustling in the past, or perhaps it is busier during the height of the summer, but felt quite deserted and strange to us. Still, it has a few little shops where you can buy snacks and water and is just a 5 min walk from the hotel.
The hotel was really clean and welcoming, and had some nice amenities including an indoor pool, gym, spa area and bar. The indoor pool was warmer than the outdoor pools which were freezing during our stay. However they looked so lovely and we enjoyed sunbathing on the comfy sunbeds with the fantastic views.
Breakfast was probably the best we’ve had in a hotel. So much choice, it felt fresh and there was never a problem getting a seat (with great views out to sea).
We ate in the olive bar a couple of times, which was ok. Food was nice enough but the service could have been friendlier and quicker. I also think it could benefit from more snack type food such as sandwiches, toasties, paninis etc. Sometimes you don’t want a full meal for lunch.
We found staff to be helpful and friendly on the whole across the hotel.
There were lots of nice chilled areas inside and out, with egg chairs for extra relaxing. Downstairs to the hotel was a library which was really nice and you could swap a book if you ran out of reading material!
The one downside of the hotel I have to admit is the room itself. We were located downstairs with no balcony, just enclosed by bushes. It was nice and private to be fair but quite dark and our room actually felt a bit damp. It was nice enough, clean and the bed was comfy. It just didn’t feel luxurious and in keeping with the rest of the hotel. Complimentary toiletries would have been nice, as would complimentary water (you had to pay). The towels were threadbare and grey, and I think this makes a big difference so I’d recommend they are refreshed.
I hope this review is helpful, overall I would really recommend people stay here but wanted to point out the slight improvements to the room that would elevate my 4 star to a 5 star review.

Not the cheapest holiday I have ever booked so I was more than surprised to find they dont offer milk in the room for your morning tea and coffee, instead they charge you 1.3 euro for a 10 cc jug of milk which you buy from the bar. Not a huge amount but it rates to be 13 euro a pint! Really?? Then you discover they dont serve English breakfast tea in the bar (despite having thousands of English breakfast tea bags in the restaurant) instead they serve infusions - at 7 euros a throw. Even the staff are embarrased at the prices. Try and get away from it and you quickly learn all the surrounding hotels are owned by Valamar.
The rooms are great, the common areas spotless and the food is fine. Some staff are great but others should not be in front of customers.
They have their marketing values on the all which say "It is in our nature to...care about..." not one of the values mentions customers (but they do want to be a good employer) With values like these you will feel more like a wallet than a person.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic. We both loved our vacation staying at the Valamar Argosy. From the day we arrived the staff were friendly and welcoming all the time, and always helpful.
The rooms are very comfortable and we got a great nights sleep, even though we right above the entrance. We had an issue one night with the rubber seal from the window rattling on the window in the wind. We let reception know in the morning and they had someone go and fix it straight away.
The reception area was very nice. Withe the hotel bar just across from it where they had music on every night except for a Friday and Sunday. It was a very pleasant way to spend then evening, though it can get quite busy at times.
The hotel restaurant was fantastic with great choice's as they were buffet style for both breakfast and evening meals. I have a sweat tooth and I loved the choice of cakes and ice cream. And I did try most of them.
The outside pool area is fantastic, with 3 pools and lot's of sun beds and with their 4 elevated sun terraces the views across the bay are absolutely amazing. Watching the boats and cruise ship’s coming and going.
It was my birthday when I was there and I was surprised to find a bottle of champagne and a birthday card left in our room, from the hotel which was very unexpected but very much appreciated.
All in all I would give this hotel 10 out of 10 for a great job well done
Thank you to all the staff and everyone involved in making this a fantastic holiday for us both.

We arrived to the hotel the reception staff were very good we arrived early had to wait short time for our room which was no problem we had a walk around the hotel to see what was available and we were so happy to see the facilities 3 pools great space for everybody to use the restaurant area was lovely we went for lunch yum yum to the Greek salad spa gym area was excellent I definitely recommend a spa treatment felt so rejuvenated after my spa trip. The gym has classes I went to body mind class with Tony he was such a positive trainer he was lovely person I went to aqua aerobics and he had everybody jumping moving and having fun. Breakfast is something else so much variety I was spoiled for choice only comment I’d like to say is that the Que is very long to get a coffee I think it would be good if the hotel implement another coffee machine so that would avoid long Que. our room was lovely and comfortable cleaning came everyday and were always friendly and polite there live entertainment in the main bar there a little shop to get your bus tickets the no 6 bus is great we used it everyday Dubrovnik old town is lovely lots of restaurants and shopping sightseeing there are also few restaurants/shops a short walk from the hotel Chinese called Asia I would recommend booking as the girl didn’t like us turning up we did get seated but maybe book before especially if your on holiday with large group. We didn’t go to beach area due to end of season however we did go to a place which was around 25 min walk further away there a entrance not far from the president hotel head down to a place called the cave bar it’s part of hotel more great to watch the sunset and drinks short walk around there is restaurant on the sea front that does amazing food would also be good do walk around in the day time to explore more of the surrounding areas. I will definitely return to Croatia and certainly to Valamar hotel we had an amazing experience definitely recommend

Unfortunately, this experience was very disappointing. We arrived late after our flight, quite tired and found the reception staff a bit cold at first but let this slide. We had paid for a balcony/ seaside view. We were put on the ground floor, and there was a big wall blocking most of the view, barely seeing the seaside. Which is actually the view we woke up to the next morning as it was dark when we arrived, great way to start the day! But, worse than that the night we arrived we opened the mini bar fridge and TWO items were opened, a bag of nuts and a half drank lemonade, disgusting. It was like the room hadn't been used in a long time... There were no toiletries really, hair from other guests in the room, side lamp didn't work, air con was difficult to figure out too. We were grateful we didn't intend to spend much time in the room but still incredibly a let down. I have to say, the staff were consistently cold and unapproachable the rest of the trip. However, the cleaning staff were the nicest out of everyone we saw them everyday and they always had a smile and hello to say. I told them of the issue, and they replaced the items with no charge, thankfully. I believe one lady was called Marta. Pool was very busy, so get there early to reserve a decent spot. Buffet breakfast and dinner were nice, other guests quite rude but not hotels fault. The cats outside were nice, as a cat lover. The spa was exceptional, the therapists were great and lovely. So professional. Bit disappointing there is no "relaxation" area after the massage, we just went back into the noisy hotel after we paid which was unfortunate but great treatments otherwise. Overall, not what I expected for the price we paid and what we got in return.

I spend ages on TA whittling down my list picking a hotel and I’m glad I settled on this one. The Argosy is excellent.
Lovely views from the hotel and pools out to sea, nicely kept gardens and a short walk from behind the hotel to the promenade or “beach area. Hotel is immaculate.
We had a “partial sea view” room which was great. Nice big room with plenty of space ( no drawers for smalls tho! Kept them in the suitcase).
The room must be well soundproofed too as we never heard any other guests. I’m sure there was a baby in the next room too, maybe it was just a quiet baby!
I have never seen such a wide array of food at a hotel breakfast buffet! Lots of different cheeses, meats, salad, breads, cakes, real honeycomb, goulash, the list goes on.. we also ate pizza at the little bistro which was very tasty
I’m being picky but couldn’t understand why no milk is provided in the room with the tea bags etc, and you have to pay for it if you get in the hotel ( we got some at the mall) and the towels were a bit “hard” but the may be due to being eco friendly? Also I could only find Sky news and BBC news on the Tv. Other English speaking channels would be appreciated.
Get your return bus tickets in the little hotel shop. The bus is regular. One tip, it’s a free for all when you get the return bus from the old town, I’m afraid “first come first served” and politely queuing doesn’t seem to apply here so when it’s busy take care. The buses do get crammed too so be prepared to stand.
I definitely recommend this hotel!

Mixed feelings here. Hotel is bright and modern and clean. But disappointing!
Our first balcony room had a view entirely blocked by a giant conifer. Room was actually dark. We were moved reluctantly to a view of the car park. Better light but nothing like the room we imagined.
Had to ask for robes and slippers. Housekeeping is haphazard at best, no teabags today and bed barely made. Cups not washed.
My main bugbear though is lack of toiletries. A 4 star hotel should have separate shampoo and conditioner, not just a pump of one wash does all stuff.
Could be so much better!

Great Choice in Dubrovnik
Loved my stay here!
For a four star hotel it exceeded my expectations.
Great location, delicious food and amazing service.
Special thanks to the guys at the lobby bar, always in a good mood and welcoming! Special thanks to Daniel!

Valamar Argosy Hotel
We’ve enjoyed a fabulous week in Dubrovnik that was made all the better by staying at the Valamar Argosy in Babin Kuk.
The hotel is in a fantastic location with views of the ocean and mainland especially from the two outdoor swimming pools.
When we arrived we received a very friendly welcome before we made our way to our room.
Our room was nice and spacious and spotlessly clean in keeping with the rest of the hotel.
We then decided to take a look around and we were very impressed. The restaurant serves an extensive variety of international cuisine for both Breakfast and Dinner as well as a fabulous selection of Croatian Wines. The Bar is located on the same floor as reception and is a great place to relax after a long day with a cocktail (special mention to Filip). There is also with entertainment every night.
When you go to the restaurant you are met by Medina who was a pleasure to talk to. At dinner we were well looked after by the team but especially our waitress Paulina who was a real credit to the hotel.
Outside there are two swimming pools as well as an indoor pool with Spa. There is also the Olivia Grill serving food all day.
The staff from the cleaners , bar staff , reception , pool staff and restaurant couldn’t be more friendly and will offer any advice needed.
You are also only a two minute walk from the bus stop where in twenty minutes you will be in the Old Town (Bus No. 6)
This is definitely a hotel I would recommend staying at to spend a lovely holiday sightseeing and relaxing.
Thank You to all the team at Valamar Argosy and hope to see you again someday.

Easy check in, very friendly & helpful staff from the get go.. We arrived earlier in the day from a cruise, sat and had a welcome drink while we waited for our rooms to be available in the outside garden area. Our rooms were very comfortable with everything you could need and to greet us was a bottle of fizz in a wine cooler with
Champagne glasses and a tall vase with flowers, a lovely touch. There is a mini fridge with goodies but we didn’t use it.
We had booked bed & breakfast so we asked the price to eat an evening meal to be told £30 euros each per evening. What a feast we had the food was fabulous, not just the choices but the quality, amazing value. Would definitely recommend.
It was a pleasure to eat in the restaurant, the views were beautiful.
Waiting staff just couldn’t do enough for you and with a smile.
No 6 bus from just along the road into Dubrovnik, runs frequently, purchase bus ticket from the hotel shop, under 14 euros for 4 of us.return.
A few supermarkets for supplies 5 min walk if you want water etc.
Dubrovnik is beautiful & hopefully I will return one day.
All in all us two couple had a fantastic time & can honestly say can’t understand why this hotel isn’t a 5*.
But ssshhh it can be our secret as we don’t want them to increase the prices.
