Posting directions as we found it confusing when we arrived at the Tokyo Station. We arrived by Shinkansen at the Tokyo Station. From there, you can use your Shinkansen ticket to board the JT local train to Shinagawa. You do not need to buy a separate JT ticket as there are no ticket booths available once you are already in the train area. It is the second stop. Once you get off, go out the west gate, turn left and walk half a block to bus stop #6. It looks like a regular city bus but goes directly nonstop to the Marriott entrance. There is no fee. The rooms either face the railroad side or the quiet side. Note that the hotel phone number goes to the general Marriott reservation center so you are not able to get directions from them.

Not worthy of being named a Marriott

DO NOT STAY HERE! Worst Marriott I have ever stayed. The desk is no where near the entrance, takes forever to check in and rooms are old and worn out. Located in an office building that on quiet weekends is creepy. Not to mention the trains will keep you up all night from nearby station. Considered an airport hotel, and it’s 30 min taxi, better off staying in better hotel in town. There is nothing around the hotel which is another 30 minutes into town center.

We liked Marriott Tokyo Shinagawa so much that we decided to come back at the end of our Japan trip as well. Our both stays were amazing! We liked the cleanliness, the facilities, the location of course! But
what was the most wonderful is Service. Ladies and Gentlemen from all the departments were incredibly friendly, fast and helpful! We were so pampered with attention. Our special thanks to the breakfast restaurant supervisors, who, despite being extra busy, paid attention to every guest and were caring and polite. Gratitude to Bell desk team, club lounge team, hskp for their incredible work! The Gentlemen from concierge who knows EVERYTHING :) and who helped me with Disneyland tickets and Okinawa trip. And of course, the star Ms.Dahal from Front Desk who was taking care of us during the whole stay - Very professional and attentive.
bravo

Great hotel - a tip regarding the free shuttle bus from Shinagawa station
This is an outstanding hotel with an excellent staff that stands ready to meet all needs. The breakfast buffet is the best we encountered in our 3 weeks across Japan. The hotel shuttle is an extra great plus. Getting to Shinagawa station from Haneda airport was simple, fast and cheap....

TIP: The hotel's website doesn't do a great job of describing how to find and get the shuttle from the Shinagawa train station. VERY SIMPLY, exit the station of street level. Turn left. You will see a bus stop with the #6. The bus is a big bus (a city bus) without a Marriott sign. But, it's the ONLY bus that stops at #6. That's the one to take.

Lovely hotel off the beaten path close to train stations. The king room was spacious and well appointed. The club lounge had fantastic views and plentiful food and beverage items. Also the morning breakfast buffet downstairs was a real treat each morning with excellent service.

It was a few years since we stayed at this Marriott and it looked almost the same. We still had to catch the shuttle to the hotel from Shinagawa Station. The bus looked just like one of the city buses so that was confusing initially since we expected to see one with the Marriott name on it.
We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite and it was quite spacious though the furnishings seemed a little dated. Since this was our last night in Japan it was perfect since we decided to spend the evening and most of the next morning resting before our flight home.
The bathroom had lots of useful countertop space with separate shower and toilet. The marble flooring in the shower was a concern and we had to be very careful when it was wet and not slip. Not sure why they chose polished marble for the flooring as there was not traction.
The lounge had nice views and served snacks and drinks all day. The afternoon tea was quite light but at least the evening spread was a little better. We opted to eat breakfast in the first floor restaurant with it wide buffet selection. It was as good as before and we enjoyed the fruits, pastries, Japanese and western items.
As for other parts of the hotel, a Family Mart (?) was in the basement of the adjoining office building so one could buy snacks and drinks. A small park was in the back, had a couple waterfalls to enjoy but seemed a bit overgrown with paths that were closed off. The gym on the first floor was functional with dumbbells and cardio equipment.
Service overall was good especially in the lounge where we spent a lot of time.
