Fantastic experience at check in with Victoria , and very thoughtful gesture from the hotel, to put a happy birthday platter in the room on arrival. Superb service from the bar and breakfast staff. Check out was seamless from Martin. Will for sure recommend and will also stay here again.

Where do I start. From the moment we pulled into the Montenotte to the moment we left we felt like royalty! Bags were taken from us as we walked into the hotel. Staff were all so friendly. We were greeted my the most amazing hotel manager Danielle she went above and beyond for our stay 🫶🏻 then let us know that our Woodland Suite was available to get checked into as we were a little early we were surprised as not many places let you check in before your given time. We were then taken on a buggy to the clubhouse to get checked in. A nice glass of champagne was given to us both which was a touch of class. We were brought to the suite by Danielle and my oh my was it out of this world 😍 from the biggest bed to the bath overlooking trees and cork city. What a view. To cocktails at sunset in the clubhouse by the lovely Sean. Nothing was too much hassle and also looked like he loved his job too. Drinks the the glasshouse were fab. Then dinner was really enjoyable. We then decided to go back to the suite where they did turn down service lavender on pillows a book to read and a candle lit beside the bath. We had the best nights sleep with breakfast at the clubhouse in the morning the breakfast was insane and the lady that served us was so nice too. Martin popped in to say hello and check in as he had done the evening before which is so nice. Danielle greeted us and we had a chat and then we checked out of the woodland suite. What an amazing experience from start to finish. I didn’t catch some of the other staff names but they are a credit to the hotel.
I’m missing it already
And if you have a chance and pay a little extra for the woodland suite you’ll not be disappointed
5 stars 🌟

General Manager Mr Frits Potgieter take a well deserved bow down!
We have travelled to 5 star hotels throughout Ireland (most recently Adare Manor) and your hotel is truly a standout. The others who charge the most outlandish prices and don't deliver could learn a thing or two from you about real service.
We stayed in the Woodland suite and you really feel that you get value for money as you're treated like a VIP from the moment they open the front door to greet you. Ken welcomed us with a big hotel and within minutes we realised that he is friends with our most favourite publican and our local in Dalkey. Amazing. Martin and Eirin took it from there and swiftly took us to the clubhouse for a welcome glass of champagne on arrival. After settling in our amazing suite we were brought back up to the bar for a few relaxing drinks. Danielle and Frits both management came over to introduce themselves and welcomed us with a lovely chat. No hiding away of management here! They are on the floor working hard to make sure that their customers are happy.
They reserved us a beautiful table for dinner in the panorama restaurant. Food and service both excellent. We were then escorted to another reserved table in the Glasshouse cocktail bar and entertained by the wonderful Velvin Lamont. It's been years since we stayed up to enjoy live music as it's normally too loud and repetitive. Not this time as Velvin is hugely talented and sings at a wonderful tempo with a super array of motown classics. Cocktails amazing by the way and the young girl (sorry didn't catch you name) worked her socks off with a brilliant service even though the place was packed. Breakfast was served by Stephen hot and delicious to our room.
I'll tell you what makes the montenotte stand head and shoulders over all the other so called 5 stars. It's simply the outstanding SERVICE!! Staff are kind, friendly, personable and not afraid to have the craic and be totally natural. They truly go out of their way to make your stay special. My husband was on crutches and they could not do enough for him.
Thank you to the most beautiful manager Danielle, a gorgeous lady who looked after our every need. Martin a Cork man who is a breath of fresh air and always appeared out of nowhere to help. Frits General Manager you have the most amazing team who are a credit to your vision of proper customer service and how to execute it.
We had the most enjoyable stay of over 30 years travelling in Ireland and in high end resorts around the world. Thank you all so much and we will be back!

My partner and I choose The Montenotte Hotel to celebrate Valentine’s Day and our 6 year anniversary, my god we couldn’t have picked a better place. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted at the taxi by the fantastic Ken. He couldn’t do enough for us! Bags brought straight up to the room, a full description of the hotel and many fabulous suggestions as what to do on our first trip to cork. The receptionist team were so lovely and warm, they made us feel so comfortable. We were walked up to the room by Martin who was really welcoming and informative of the hotel and its facilities. Any staff member we encountered couldn’t do enough for us!
The food in the Panorama restaurants was second to none! We had lunch not long after we arrived and my partner was blown away by the chowder, he said he could’ve eaten a bucket of it! We then dined in the restaurant on our second evening and both had the beef cheeks, they were extremely juicy and tender. We also had an array of cocktails each as delicious as the next!
The rooms were absolutely beautiful. We were very kindly upgraded to a king room, we had a lovely view of Cork with so much light able to come in. We would’ve stayed in the bed all day with how comfortable they were! Our room also included a gorgeous Smeg coffee machine which we took full advantage of!
This will definitely be a hotel we will remember and will come back to very often, especially to celebrate our anniversary! What a place to make incredible memories. Thank you everyone for creating such a memorable trip for us both.

Ken the concierge needs a pay rise, so good at his job, greeting and assisting guests throughout their stay. It makes such a difference and lasting impression on visitors to be treated with such kindness and made feel so welcome.
Also, the waiter Jiyan who looked after us all evening. He was so helpful and nice. Even giving us tips of where to travel if we ever visited Turkey.
Actually, the entire staff should be complimented they were all so nice. Credit to the hotel.

Stayed here for my birthday ,booked by my bf as a surprise trip, from the second we walked into the hotel we knew it was somewhere special when we met Ken who was just pure cork ,easy chat &just set the tone of the trip .
The ladies at reception were lovely ,we then met another lovely staff member missed his name (hyrox competitor ) who was fabulous and friendly , we proceeded to go out to the terrace which was just stunning with gorgeous pina coladas , also a lovely manager who was was great for the other cocktail recommendations.
Finally jiyan deserves a special mention he was just incredible , so friendly , chatty and the service he provided us for dinner was at an exceptional level , himself and Ken are two incredible staff members that really make the hotel stand out from other hotels.
We stayed at a 5 star hotel at the start of the week in the city but honestly montennote staff were streaks ahead , these staff members are what would make us pick Montennote over other hotels on return trips.

The River Suite was amazing. Definitely a 5 star experience.
We were greeted by Martin, who whisked us away to the Clubhouse upon arrival and checked us in there. He was so nice and helpful and a pleasure to chat to. He then showed us to our suite and demonstrated how various things worked.
After visiting Motion leisure, we returned to our suite and prepared for our Sundowner cocktails and canapes. Phillip looked after us in the Clubhouse and was such a lovely person to chat to about the options that evening and about the hotel and life in general.
We had dinner in the lovely Panorama restaurant, which was delicious, particularly as I followed Phillips recommendations.
We had a couple of drinks in the Glasshouse, which were very enjoyable, and we were treated so well there, but unfortunately didn't get the names of those who served us.
The following morning we had breakfast in the Clubhouse where Martha took care of us and ensured we were well fed.
Overall we would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a treat.

Myself and my husband booked the River Suite as a birthday/Christmas treat and it exceeded my expectations. The suite was gorgeous but it was the VIP treatment we received which really what set it apart. We were whisked away in a golf buggy on arrival to check in at The Clubhouse, and were given complimentary champagne. After a lovely hour spent in the jacuzzi/sauna/pool we had more complimentary cocktails in The Clubhouse and gorgeous canapes. The staff were just brilliant. Martin, Philip and Martha couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely be back when we want to celebrate another special occasion.

My now fiancée and I went here to celebrate our engagement and stayed in one of the woodland suite experience lodges.
The suite is really stunning with a fun location with a great view of the city especially at night.
The staff which met us on arrival were incredibly nice and good fun honestly. The experience is quite a pampering depending on what you're looking for.
The clubhouse cocktail and breakfast is a lovely touch as well and the food and drinks were honestly fantastic.
Location of the hotel is great you're only a short walk to mccurtain street which has great restaurants. We walked in on the night of our stay and ate there and walked back up again. Then the bars in the hotel itself are quite nice too and there was some live music which is nice.
Would highly recommend we will definitely come back for another special occasion.

We thought the room was top notch. Clean and well appointed.
We had breakfast there every morning and it was delicious.
The indoor pool, hot tub, steam room, sauna are all very nice additional features!
The property is in a quiet residential area, though a small business district with good casual dining and a wonderful pub is a 10 minute walk away.

My only recommendation would be maybe to have another staff member or two on the breakfast shift as there didn’t seem to be enough to cover the workload! I ordered poached eggs that never arrived but that’s only a little complaint, I could see how busy your staff were! Would be thrilled to get a chance to stay here again. Thank you!

A huge thank you to Nicole on the front desk and Ken who were superb to talk to during our stay. Nicole was full of advice of the best places to go in Cork and the surrounding areas, and always made time for anything we needed, while Ken was more than happy to stop to make our day even better.
We loved the cinema experience, the room was so immaculate and so gorgeous. We were staying here for our honeymoon and were given a truly five star experience, so thank you so much to everyone we spoke to during our stay.

So glad we stayed at this lovely hotel. Looking over Cork, it was a beautiful place to sit and have a few drinks in the bar. Room service was excellent too, we stayed in one evening and really enjoyed our meal. One afternoon we walked down to the Cork main street to find a local pub, and had fun trialling the recommendations from the staff. We caught a taxi up the hill though!! The customer service here was great! In both reception and on the door, we felt valued and were given a lot of information about Cork and tips about where to go. The room was spacious and attractively decorated, we were even lucky to have a room with a bath, I would definitely stay here again!!

We have just checked out after a 3 night stay in this fabulous hotel. 2 couples, we arrived to an incredible welcome from one of the team who helped us with our bags from the taxi. He gave us a guided tour of the hotel and showed obvious pride in the place. The lovely Ken then gave us lots of recommendations of what to see, where to eat and drink etc all of which we followed making for a packed but enjoyable trip.
We ate in the Panorama restaurant on our first night, and the food and service were impeccable. Then we moved to the Glasshouse cocktail bar where live musicians gave incredible renditions of soul and motown classics and the bar staff worked hard to keep everyone happy serving cocktails and drinks.
The terrace provides incredible views over the city as well as providing comfortable sofas and heating for us to have coffee or more cocktails!
There is a very comfortable cinema room with a movie showing twice per night and the staff team bringing free popcorn which we made use of too.
Breakfast was a wide array of fresh buffet options along with a good menu of hot food to order. Again the staff at breakfast were, without exception excellent!
The rooms are well appointed with everything you need, comfy beds, quiet, blackout curtains, good shower, nice toiletries and fresh towels daily. Immaculately clean too.
The pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna are all lovely and available even after checking out and leaving our bags with the ever attentive Ken.
All 4 of us agreed that no matter where we go, we will never find a hotel to beat this one. Faultless! Just book, you won't regret it.

We had a fantastic stay at The Montenotte, one of the warmest and most welcoming hotels we've experienced. The staff were truly exceptional — friendly, attentive, and always ready with a smile or helpful tip.
Perched just above the city, the hotel offers stunning views over Cork while still being close enough for an easy walk into town for dinner or drinks.
One of our favorite little perks was the in-house cinema — after a long day exploring the region, we loved grabbing some popcorn and catching a film in a cozy, stylish setting. It was such a thoughtful touch that made the stay feel special.
We’d gladly return in a heartbeat.

This hotel has a lot of class and character and generally we enjoyed our two night stay. Breakfast was very good, evening meal was good and all staff were friendly, helpful and professional.
Two matters however we felt fell below the otherwise high standards of this hotel.
Only 5 channels were working on the tv. I asked the concierge was this a fault in our tv or was this standard throughout the hotel. He said he would find out and wandered off and never came back to me.
Also, whilst our afternoon tea was very good in terms of food, not once did anyone come back to ask how things were. We had to signal when we required refill of tea and again when we wanted to request our bill. Perhaps more staff training required.

My husband and I stayed at the Montenotte in June.We left feeling disappointed. There are cost saving measures to be seen everywhere.
Room:
Clean. The shampoo and body washes are attached to the wall in the shower and very difficult to use the pump. No face cloths.
It is a maze to try get to our room.
Pool:
Steam room has no steam.
Breakfast:
Sour melon, overcooked inedible omelette
,cold buffet, no cup then was brought a dirty cup, boiled egg instead of poached. We noticed people looking for staff for different requests, and grabbing things like sugar, cutlery from other tables. The breakfast is well below par.
Staff:
OK.
The only really nice part of the hotel is the garden area but otherwise it is all 'fluff'.

This luxury hotel has it all - a stunning location, loads of amenities, and the most hospitable staff you could hope for. My husband and I stayed in Woodland Suites which took the experience to another level - concierge service at your beck and call, a separate clubhouse for breakfast and afternoon drinks, and beautifully appointed modern bungalows with panoramic views of the city below. The Montenotte was among the best places we've ever stayed. Highly Recommend.

Second visit to the amazing hotel this year. This time we were celebrating a special birthday and I had phoned a few days prior asking for a nice table in the restaurant for the evening. We were blown away to have been given an upgrade to a riversuite. What an experience. 5 star luxury from beginning to end. Amazing friendly staff at every location. Beautiful food in the restaurant with pianist in background. Perfection! Visited the spa on my previous stay and it was a fantastic experience. Without doubt the suites are particularly special, but there is just something special about this hotel anyway! Will definitely be back!

Second time staying in recent times , unfortunately our room had issues when we arrived but was really quickly resolved by the ladies at reception , we were unfortunately told the wrong time for the Cinema so missed the first 30 minutes and missed the popcorn but when ordering a drink bumped into Jiyan who we had previously met on our stay and he made sure we were sorted.
Again through out our time jiyan really stood out to us , while he was not looking after our section every time he seen us waiting to order he would proceed to help us with ease
Amazing staff member that we really enjoy meeting and love to see on our return trips

My husband and I are just back from a one night getaway. We opted for the Summer in the City package . We wanted a nice , relaxing break away from a hectic life to just spend quality time together .
The hotel itself is small which we knew as it’s part of the Small Luxery Hotels of the World. Its ambience is beautiful. We had an executive room which at first view I was slightly taken aback by the size as it was small for an executive room but honestly it was very clean , very comfortable and had all you could need incl Rituals products in the bathroom and Smeg coffee maker and kettle in the room with plenty of tea, coffee, cookies etc. we had a fabulous little sweet treat and beautiful card from Danielle on arrival . Unfortunately we did not have a great view. Bed was so comfy and furnishings are outstanding !
The Panorma Restaurant is magnificent as is the Glass House Cocktail bar .
A couple of blips for me but which I can forgive as it was a bank holiday weekend and cork city marathon was on. When we arrived for dinner they had no record of our reservation but did end up accommodating us. Our package included welcome cocktails and savoury treat which I did have to remind staff on . Our meal was outstanding but sadly a little rushed . Starters were out quickly but taken away just as quick . My husband hadn’t finished his but he didn’t want to fuss. Mains followed quickly after then side dishes . We were having those when I spied a couple of servers watching us . I was so full from wolfing the food down that neither of us finished and just let them take our plates . We ordered a couple of drinks and we were asked if we wanted dessert and were given the menus. We were honestly so full we couldn’t so we asked for the bill for the drinks and food supplements . The bill came out and showed we were charged for the cocktails and savoury treat which was part of our package so I pointed that out and it was rectified . We took our drinks and sat outside . All in all from sitting at the table to vacating it we were about 40 mins so there was definitely no savouring the moment lol !
Apart from the dinner craziness I can’t fault the service and food and ambience . We opted for breakfast in bed in the morning so that we could relax and enjoy it and it was spectacular! So fresh and tasty.
Our room was also freshened up during the day with candles lit in bathroom and chocolates and fresh water by the bed .
Would I stay again ? Yes in a heartbeat . I would specify a room with a view next time and reconfirm my dinner reservation when I’m checking in.
The montenotte has to be experienced !! Treat yourself and enjoy 😍

The Montenotte is a beautiful property with top-notch support by employees. It is welcoming and relaxing. We stayed in a Woodland Suite after I failed to book the correct date for our stay in the main hotel. It was worth the added cost to have a view of Cork and the special amenities that come with the gorgeous room. We loved the bathroom’s heated floors and welcoming charcuterie. It was so quiet that we slept deeply. What a special treat during our first trip to Ireland.
