The bed is comfy, and the shower is ok (can go hot and cold), air con is good but noisy but the staff are so nice, especially in the Sunshine grill. Breakfast is really good which we had six out of our seven days there. The good thing about this accommodation is, you can get use of the Westin (across the road) facilities and beach area, which we did! Amazing place, and so central. We will visit again.

The best little hotel out there!

My partner and I spent 5 days at Sunshine Suites end of January, beginning of February. This probably has been our 5th, 6th or 7th stay there and the hotel never disappoints. They presently are in the process of renovation and I very much look forward to returning when done. I can't begin to praise the staff enough....everyone working in the grill, Louise, Keith, Joanna...each and everyone of them always giving the best service you could ever imagine to get. And then, Gill Honey, Front Office Manager, simply the very best. He went far beyond the call of duty to help me in my dire need. Sunshine Suites...not fancy but my home away from home.

We chose this accommodation as we didn’t want a big resort but we wanted access to the water. The resort didn’t disappoint. It is big enough to not feel like an awkward spot tucked away. But it is tucked away and quiet. The pool is fine, we only sat near the pool for meals and didn’t use it for swimming. Others did but there were often seats available. Having access to their sister property The Westin was fantastic. Much more lively at The Westin. Which can be good and bad. The room was good, well kept but nothing special. Price was great.

Our second time here. Mixed review. Prepare if you choose Sunshine Suites.
You can’t beat the easy walk to the beach at the Westin, and use of their chairs, towels, pools, beach chairs & food/drinks which can be billed to S.Suites. However, there are preparations to consider & the staff is not overly helpful. To prepare (we did this both times here),...
You can’t beat the easy walk to the beach at the Westin, and use of their chairs, towels, pools, beach chairs & food/drinks which can be billed to S.Suites.
However, there are preparations to consider & the staff is not overly helpful. To prepare (we did this both times here), I would *suggest* the following: bring a bar of soap from home for the shower. We have used the same, tiny bar of hand soap which was never replaced even after 5 days. Bring a small dehumidifier: doors go directly outside but the ceiling fan + AC just don’t remove the moisture. It’s an older property which hasn’t been updated in 30 years. Bring a drying rack: there is no balcony, outdoor seating, etc to dry bathing suits & swim shirts. Bring your own hangers. You get 4-5. Only 1 side of the bed has a nightstand, so the other person must prepare for charging their devices at night by bringing a power strip of some kind. They’ll end up setting devices on the floor, on the AC unit (yuck) or the windowsill (icky). Bring earplugs if you are bothered by roosters crowing at 6 am until 10-11 am every day. Not hating, just saying. It’s the culture and that’s fine, but I thought you should know to prepare.
We always tip the cleaning people at least $5-7 dollars per day, in cash, on the bed. The last time, they replenished 2 16-oz water bottles each day, which was lovely & unexpected. Not so this time. Today, we didn’t even receive clean hand towels: just 3 washcloths hanging where the hand towels had been. When I called the front desk, they said we could stop down & pick some up. My wife & I didn’t come here to do someone’s job; we both already have jobs. Just be prepared for what you get. There are LOTS of rentals on the island, near the beach. We will consider other places next time & may or may not return.

Resort really? What a dump from the rooms to the deep pot holes all over the parking lot never mind all the hidden fees that they don't tell you about until you check in. This is anything but a bargain. Looks like they are refacing the outside of the one building but that will be just lipstick on a pig as the rooms look like they are right out of the 80's mold and all. The staff were clearly turned off likely from the barrage of complaints they must get from horrified guests at the conditions that they have no control to fix. Obviously the owners have a "profit at all cost/ get their money once" motto because certainly if you have stayed here you are never coming back.

My wife and I returned last week from enjoying our 6th stay in the past many years and once again I'll repeat what I wrote previously....this property remains exactly as the numerous reviews on TripAdvisor have suggested over the years....easily the best value on Seven Mile Beach.
Rooms, while in need of renovation which is coming in the months ahead, are spacious, clean and comfortable. As always, we appreciated having the kitchenette which we used daily to enjoy coffee, tea, boiled eggs and toasted bagels. The restaurant is inexpensive for Grand Cayman and excellent (we ate dinner on multiple days at the Sunshine Grill) and the staff couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating and the WiFi is excellent from the rooms to the public areas.
Guests of the Sunshine Suites may readily use the beach chaise lounge chairs, towels, gym, spa, WiFi, etc. at the Westin Grand Cayman Resort (100 yards or 3 minute walk) and also charge any food/drinks from the beach to the restaurants/bars to their room at the Sunshine Suites. We took advantage of the Westin's amenities every day and they are a big part of the great value that is the Sunshine Suites.
7 Mile Beach continues to be one of the gems of the Caribbean. It remains one of the most beautiful in the world to enjoy walking, swimming (often with fish around you), snorkeling and, as I did every evening, standing in the water with a CayBrew Ironshore Bock beer in my hand watching the beautiful sunsets.
To Jessica Kozaily, the GM, and her whole team, thanks again for delivering an excellent experience. And, needless to say, we hope to return sooner than later.

This property is a great spot to make your base while on 7 Mile Beach. While the property is not on the beach, you have full access to The Westin Resort right across the street. Short walk to get there. The Sunshine Suites have restaurant on site that had some of the best tacos we’ve ever had. Pool space is nice. Room could use a little updating but all and all would recommend.
