Grand Cayman Marriott Resort

Our family of five stayed at the Grand Cayman Marriott Resort during the week of Thanksgiving 2025 (2 adults, 3 kids ages 12,10,8). Admittedly, we were a little nervous after understanding that the beach was nearly nonexistent, and some mixed reviews, but we took our chances. The resort exceeded our expectations in every way. We had some issues after requesting adjoining rooms, but that was quickly resolved, and things were seamless from that point on. POOL: The pool area isn’t huge, but at this time of year we never had trouble finding space together and the attendants were always quick to set up chairs, towels, and move umbrellas. When the ocean was calm you can easily walk or swim out to floating platforms, and there was some sand at low tide for the kids to play. ROOMS: The rooms were spacious and comfortable and super clean. There are filtered water stations on each floor where we refilled our water bottles every day. FOOD: We were pleasantly surprised by the food, which our kids LOVED. The breakfast buffet was large and so good, and we loved that there were different dinner options every night. There is a coffee bar with pastries for on the go. Food and drinks ordered at the pool were great and came really fast. The hotel also had a special Thanksgiving dinner at the restaurant next to the pool that was SO good and the kids loved. SERVICE: What truly makes the stay special is the service. Every staff member went out of their way for us, with special shout-outs to Siva at Anchor and Den (our waiter for several nights who was super patient and kind to our kids), Emira (Summer House, she ran the poolside kids’ activities and was the absolute best and creative), Jerome, and Murine. *One last note - our son suffered a leg injury on our first day that had him in crutches for our entire vacation. The staff at the Marriott went out of their way to help him and make sure he was comfortable and able to have fun despite the injury. We were truly thankful to them.

The Grand Cayman Marriott far exceeded my expectations for our week long family vacation with 2 toddlers! We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of beach that had returned to the area and took full advantage. We had intended to do several day trips around the island, but instead chose to stay back at the resort because of the convenience and comfort it provided. Highlights include: dreamy sunsets from the beach, paddleboard and pool deck yoga, and the children’s activities put on by Minu and Junita. These women were fabulous, always remembering names and creating special moments. We look forward to returning one day!

What a great property! We absolutely loved everything about it. The pool sits right on the water so the ocean views and sunset are amazing! Great artificial reef to snorkel and tons of water activities. The staff is wonderful and a special shout out to Jerome at the pool and Milan for the morning coffee and snacks. We will definitely return

I cannot say better things about our stay. I read before we booked that the staff was incredibly friendly, but frankly my experience far surpassed my expectations from day one. Minu & Junita (who run 2-3 small children’s events on site daily that range from bracelet making to cotton candy being made by the pool— they’re all laid out with times and locations in a brochure which is super helpful) seemingly learned every child’s name at first meet and flipped my opinion from “family friendly” to “family welcome”. Our son loved his bracelet so much that it broke on our last day and the ladies made a point to borrow it, fix it, and return it as if it was no hassle at all— which turned a potential meltdown into a proud souvenir he has been showing all of his friends. The pool was functional (more usable than just being a photo op), clean, and felt included in the environment of the hotel so it felt like everyone could find their place (if you didn’t want to be near kids vs if you were trying to keep tiny humans alive— there was a place for everyone). We weren’t expecting any beach at all, but there was some very usable sand/beach space during our stay. All of the water sports are usable, clean, and accessible without hassle. The life vests are also readily available and easy to check out. The sunscreen, aloe, and towels were tended to frequently. There was a full treasure chest full of beach toys that were left by previous visitors so unless you’re looking for brand new / perfect toys most kids can find something fun to play with if you didn’t have room to pack toys. We ALL had a great vacation and I couldn’t recommend it more.

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Cayman Marriott Resort. The staff were incredible—some of the nicest and most polite people we’ve ever met. We stayed with our 1-year-old daughter, and the team was extremely accommodating with anything we needed, which made traveling with a young child much easier. The beach has also returned, so you don’t need to leave the resort to enjoy the sand and ocean. There are plenty of great restaurants and shops just outside the hotel within easy walking distance, which was another big plus. We highly recommend staying here and would absolutely return

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. A special thank you to the reception team most especially to AINA for her outstanding hospitality. They were incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay. Their warm welcome and willingness to assist with anything we needed made a big difference and truly enhanced our overall experience. The property is beautiful, and the beach (YES there is a BEACH!) is absolutely stunning with soft sand and clear water—perfect for relaxing, swimming, or simply enjoying the view. The pool area is equally impressive, daily free entertainment and snacks. It is very clean and well maintained, with plenty of comfortable seating and a great atmosphere throughout the day. BIG SHOUT TO JEROME - Fantastic Service every day! What really made the experience special was how relaxing everything felt. The beach and pool areas were spacious and never felt overcrowded, making it easy to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the overall environment was welcoming and well organized. We had a wonderful dining experience. The service was excellent—attentive, friendly, and very professional. Every morning breakfast was Welcome by MILD , she was very helpful to make sure our whole family is taken cared of. BELLE at Anchor and Den , Kristine and Sharlene in Veranda made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and were always available without being intrusive. It truly enhanced our overall dining experience. Great food and exceptional service. This was a wonderful place for our family getaway, we are family of 9 with 2 todlers and 1 infant and we truly enjoyed every moment of our stay. We would definitely return and highly recommend this Marriott property to anyone looking for a beautiful Cayman experience and a great family vacation experience.

This is a lovely hotel; expensive but then many hotels in Cayman seem to be. The rooms are a good size, the beds very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant but the food the hotel provided for the conference I attended was excellent. The hotel is well located too: on 7 mile beach and only a few minutes from the airport.

Where do we start??! The service at this resort is top notch - and I’m fussy- lol! The staff is experienced and made us feel special all week long. Next the food! Every time we left the resort to eat elsewhere we’d decide that Anchor & Den or Veranda was better. We ended up eating in house more than any other trip we’ve taken. Take advantage of happy hour! We also participated in the cooking and mixology classes - so fun and we learned a ton! Do not hesitate to stay at this beautiful, accommodating resort. Grand Cayman AND the Marriot both exceeded our expectations!

We stayed at the Marriott Grand Cayman from 2/27-3/6. We came to celebrated my 50th birthday. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and courteous. The views from our room were to die for. We had Kathleen as our housekeeper and we couldn’t have asked for a better one. She was attentive and helpful we any need we had. We will be coming back.

The pool staff is nothing short of excellent. Jerome, AZ(lash) Trey, Vicent, O’Brien and Maurine (OurQUEEN) They have become like my brothers and sisters. The service and friendship over many years coming here twice a year is like no other place on earth. And I mean that. I’m a lifetime to titanium Marriott member. I’ve seen plenty of properties. I just hope Marriott appreciates their special people and retains them. They know exactly what you want but more important is the sincerity and kindness they provide. You won’t find this anywhere but here, with this specific team! Only bad thing to report is pins colda now made on blender. Tastes like another place. Before they were homemade and it separated the bar from others. Now it’s just a very average drink. I stopped ordering. Also jet ski noise is ridiculous. It’s like a chainsaw out front in busy days. But that’s not fault of pool staff. I suggest Marriott should move red sail down the beach! It makes too much waves for snorkeling and swimming. But I truly love it here!

We had a wonderful stay here. The room was great, with excellent service and friendly staff members. We especially appreciated the kindness and accommodation we received from housekeeping staff member Delsi. Free parking on-site was convenient, as was the Red Sail Sports office and free rental of snorkeling equipment. Definitely recommend trying the pina colada at the pool bar as well!

Everyone on the staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. Delci, the 5th floor service staff person was AMAZING. Incredibly helpful, cheerful, and accommodating for any special requests. She deserves special recognition Note that, since the hurricanes, the hotel can have limited or no beach frontage. Which has impacted Marriott’s investment in the physical facility and grounds. That said, it was competitively priced and the food and service was terrific.

The afternoon tea experience was absolutely fabulous from start to finish. Everything was beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere felt calm and inviting, and the staff were genuinely friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They made us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout. Nancy and Belle our gems!!! It was such a lovely way to spend the afternoon, highly recommended!

Here less than 24 hours, but so far the hotel is lovely. Sharing all the little info I was looking for to help anyone currently planning. The staff has been friendly and kind. Special thanks to Trey for locating my daughter’s lost sneakers! Dorene, our breakfast server was attentive and kind. We are Marriott Platinum and, on asking, we were upgraded from a courtyard view (2 queen balcony) to a partial ocean view . You can’t see a lot of ocean, but it’s nice to be on the 5th floor with a little ocean and the gesture was appreciated. The room was ready shortly before 4:00 and the front desk called to inform us it was ready. At the time of this writing, Platinum Elite and higher status receive 2 continental breakfast certificates per day (OR miles/other F&B amenity). This may be used for the cold continental breakfast. Or as $15 (Cayman) towards buffet or à la carte. Hot buffet is $35KY (so $20 KY with certificate). The continental is quite nice and a bit upscale with chia pudding, musli, fruit, and an assortment of breads, pastries, cheeses and deli meats. The pool has limited seating, but the kind staff will work with you to find or set up a chair or umbrella if space permits and all are taken. There is complimentary SPF 30 and 50 as well as aloe at the pool. There is also infused and regular water poolside. There are a wide variety of resort activities included in the resort fee. We had no problem walking up and securing 3 SUP boards. However, I recommend requesting a list of activities a week in advance of your trip and contacting the hotel to sign up in advance (if possible) as all morning yoga and other similar activities were already full for the week on our arrival. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. They are artificial down and nice and squishy. Lobby and rooms are fairly updated, hallways are a little tired. Crowded pool deck and lack of beach front are a bummer but the ocean is nice and reef just off shore provide snorkeling. Consider beach excursions to the public beach for beach time. Overall very nice. Food overall (including pool food) exceeds expectations. And staff are very accommodating and will help with off menu food ordering or other special needs.

The hotel was very clean, comfortable and the food was great! The pool area is very nice too even though we didn’t have a chance to use the pool! Everyone who works here are very friendly and can’t do enough for you as a guest! It was always a pleasure to come back to our hotel room because Osiris had it immaculate and filled with all the towels we needed! Would definitely stay here again! Thank you Marriott!!!

To save you time, maybe money (since here they add 18% gratuity) & less missed opportunities, hopefully long review w/ pertinent details helpful since we were there over 8 days & experienced a LOT! (Mentioned several extras since some business not on Tripadvisor & copy/pasted half my review from Google too). An overall rating for this location is bit tough & probably between 3.5-4 star since some services, etc were amazing & others were poor. Imo, this resort is cost-heavy for the value & gratuity rate higher than necessary. Ambience/Remodel: Beautiful, soothing, warm & comfortable decor. Front Desk Staff: Initial welcome good after long check in wait. Always polite, friendly & happy to give recommendations. Shuttle: to/from airport good, didnt use for beaches since rented car (highly recommend). Door clerks: Great, welcoming, friendly & often had smiles. Live music in lobby always had a pleasant sound! For trip planning, if little/no info on website (or for nearby spots), glad called ahead for Concierge. They have no specific service for this & it rings to front desk, which gets busy. This could use improvement as before & during trip, if they didn't know, they'd have to check w/ others & get back to me (usually promptly). Aina was terrific, knowledgeable & readily gave customized answers w/ suggestions (wanted to have as many conch fritters on vaca as possible & we did actually go to both she recommended- Heritage Kitchen - mini fritters good, fried snapper overcooked & Rackam's were great). Housekeeping: Delci was our primary room attendant & FABULOUS! Always polite, friendly, accommodating if needed more or a specific request, courteous of our time & acknowledged well wishes towardsa no-worries/enjoyable vacation. Our room was kept tidy, clean & well stocked. I appreciated her making us & our time feel valued. Cooking class: PHENOMENAL! Chef from Peru taught our group how to make Peruvian snapper ceviche. Was such a perfect blend of history, education & delicious ingredients that it was a big highlight here! We didn't know to reserve in advance but they accommodated us. Highly recommend. Wish they offered more than 1 class/wk. Mixology class: Also great. She was a patient & knowledgeable bartender that provided a fun & educational experience too. I assumed it would be featuring a rum drink but it was 2 others. My husband esp enjoyed since he's a G & T fan! Spa: had an awesome deep massage by Rene on my bday. She was fabulous! They provided tea before & after in what I called the serenity room which was quiet & peaceful. Large variety of nice but pricey products available in their shop. Giftshop also with wide variety of nice but pricey items. Do believe heard somewhere IF Marriott member can get shop discounts but pls verify this. Fitness Center: entered once & had a strong mildew odor. Could not have used. Beach: essentially a small strip during low tide due to erosion. Can only walk short distance before coming to concrete structures in front of Hampton & we never could go beyond edge of property to the longer beach in front of Regal Beach Club & others. Accessing water no problem since there's stairs & nearby public walk-in access just next to them but if strolling/combing the beach routinely is a huge priority, no-very minimal sand/beach would be a big consideration. I did not book our trip here, so this was a disappointment to me. Unfortunately, no chairs are available to use during low tide & loungers def aren't taken down the stairs. Loungers: 100% agree w/ other reviews- some are hard, uncomfortable plastic & need upgrading. There isn't much space for unobstructed, ocean-facing loungers & they're quickly reserved. Since only 2 of us, we were able to get them together several times. Hot tub: very nice & hot, not really tolerable for most kids. Once, went to get in & cool so since was rainy & windy, unable really use that day. Notified front desk & issue was fixed & able use next day. Water fun: Free use of kayaks, paddle boards & trampolines: Nice to have available & did chill on trampoline once. These weren't always usable due to wind & rough waters. GoPros: glad they offered use of them (but with windy rainy weather first several days, snorkeling was limited). Used twice & first time barely used

This hotel gets a lot of flack about not having a pristine beach (although they are getting more and more beachfront back), but the service and extra features they have more than make up for that. Upon checking in, the front desk agent noticed that I had two separate reservations for my stay and she immediately linked them together and assured me that I would't have to switch rooms. It was nice to not even have to ask for that hospitality. Throughout our week long stay, we were taken care of at the pool by Sheryl and Sid. They were wonderful! Sid was such a hard worker that he seemed to appear out of no where whenever he sensed we needed something. From food and drinks to an extra napkin, nothing we asked for was out of reach and he truly made it feel like a relaxing vacation. The other great thing about our stay were all of the extra activities that occurred daily around the resort grounds. In our week, we made friendship bracelets, keychains, lip scrubs, etc at the pool. We also had s'mores and snow cones as snacks. These activities were nice breaks from swimming and lounging and the trinkets were fun souvenirs to take home! Having been to the island several other times and stayed at other resorts, I will say that the Marriott is top on my list. The people made us feel like we were wanted and welcomed there and that feeling stands out about everything else!

I loved that the resort isn't huge. Very manageable. Almost everything is located on the lobby level, except concierge desk, found on 3rd floor. It would be great if there was better signage saying it's on the 3rd fl. Every employee that I encountered was wonderful. Shout out to Illy, from Morocco, working at Veranda restaurant which is located outside. Excellent, professional service. The room is a good size and has a small balcony to enjoy. For those who don't rent a car, there are taxis in the parking lot. There are stairs that go right to the sea and a decent size pool. If you don't feel like eating out, there are several restaurant options. I was very happy with my stay and would definitely return. My first time in Grand Cayman Jan 19th. It was raining when I arrived and it's been very windy and cloudy. I think February might be a better time. Also. It was crowded yet. I never needed reservations.
