What a beautiful setting. This place is a bit out of the center of town but just a short and cheap tuk-tuk ride into town. The grounds and the pool were some of the best of the eight luxury properties we stayed at on our tour of SE Asia.
The staff was super friendly and the service top notch. So why not a 5 star rating? Our room was just OK- perhaps the result of being with a tour group (this hotel appeared to cater to many land and cruise tour groups). It faced the back of the property not the lovely inner courtyard. The view was of nice foliage and a waterway but there was a road right behind that so not great. The pool with a swim up bar was great though the prices not as inexpensive as at similar properties in Vietnam.
The breakfast buffet was very good and one night we had the dinner buffet which was decent, but a buffet.
Overall a good place to relax and take a break after touring the nearby Angkor Wat.

A hotel worthy of the title “outstanding”.

Words fail us! Our entire hotel experience at the Sofitel Phokeethra,is one of the most memorable stays we have had in all our travels. This has been a truly five star experience in every sense of the word.
We arrived at the international airport at Siem Reap at 8:30 pm and were welcomed by Mr Sothy who drove us the one hour to the Sofitel. This was such an easy way for us to get to the hotel after a long flight from Melbourne.
Unsure as to how we might be welcomed , we were overwhelmed n the kindness and generosity of Mr RET Saran, the Hotel Duty Manager who with his team provided us with a welcome drink and information as to what benefits we were entitled as Diamond members of ACCOR.
Our room 417 was amazing !from the beautiful welcome of flower petals on our bed with thoughtful welcome gifts we could not have wished for more! A truly overwhelming experience and one we had never expected. A truly memorable welcome to Siem Reap, Cambodia.
There are so many ‘ambassadors’ as the staff are known as who made our five days such a beautiful experience. From the wonderful house keeping staff who kept our room so pristine. We have yet to experience a more comfortable bed as we had here.
To Miss Sreynoch and Miss Ly Ly at the reservations desk who so kindly secured our reservation when the ACCOR app showed the hotel had no vacancies at the time we wished to stay. To all the staff who looked after us throughout our stay, we cannot thank you enough.
Finally to Mr RET Saran. The Duty Manager who made sure we were looked after so wonderfully during our stay, what a Magnificent example and what a high standard you have set for any hotel we now plan to stay in the future.

We stayed for 6 nights in a Suite with Club Lounge Access. This hotel is exceptional, we travel extensively and this is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. Our room was spacious, the club lounge is well worth the extra cost and the staff in all areas are very attentive and welcoming. The gardens are kept beautifully as is the pool area. The concierge arrange our trip to Siem Reap with guide, our golf, and recommended restaurants. A special mention to Khemara who could not have been more helpful. We would not hesitate to go back and would highly recommend this hotel.

From the moment we arrived to a music and dance greeting as we crossed the threshold that set the bar high. Every single member of the team spoke and smiled every time you met them and provided exceptional service. I asked for a change to my arrival meal when our tour had arranged a specific meal. Not only was my variation arranged without question but was checked and double checked before the order was sent to the kitchen. When delivered again the restaurant manager checked again. The gardens are delightful. Pool area and pool bar service rate 10/10 too. Any return to Siem Reap this would be my first choice

Excellent - highly recommended. This has to be one of the best hotels in Siem Reap. From the moment you enter, you are made to feel 'special' The Staff are very Professional; Courteous; and will respond to pretty much any request. The Location is excellent, being close (but not in) the township per se, so it is still accessible to all of the 'go to' tourist sites, without the 'chaos' of the city area. Rooms are very comfortable; breakfast was great; and the overall resort was amazing. Really there was nothing to complain about. Highly recommended.

My husband and I spent 3 nights here as part of a tour group and really enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is located in a very good location in being close to Angkor Wat. The resort is huge and beautiful with plenty of places to enjoy, relax and eat without having to leave the property!
Our room was spacious and comfortable, on par with the Sofitel brand. If you need to do laundry, I recommend doing it here as they offered a decent price to launder as much clothes that can fit in their laundry bag for $49 USD.
We ate several times (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at their buffet restaurant and found the food to be very good. There were a wide assortment of hot and cold Western and Asian dishes to satisfy everyone. Additionally, the concierge was very helpful in recommending restaurants outside of the resort, including organizing transportation and reservations.
We also did spa treatments at their spa and highly recommend it. The therapists were excellent and the price was very reasonable in comparison to prices in the US. I think it was about $80 USD for a 90 minutes massage.
The only downside of the resort is that majority of the restaurants are not walking distance, but about 5 minutes tuktuk drive away. Fortunately, there are plenty of tuktuk drivers lurking around and we never had to wait more than a few minutes to catch a Grab back to the hotel.
Otherwise, it was a very comfortable stay and I would recommend staying here.

We stayed here for three nights after a Mekong cruise.
Lovely staff, beautiful lobby, nice breakfast. Superb pool.
Golf course 30 minutes away. Downtown a 10 minute tuk tuk ride away.
Room was a bit tired - old style furniture. No charging cable points - needed adaptor. Two double beds together made for a super huge king size bed but with quilt/doona/duvet that barely reached the sides. Every time I rolled over my partner had no cover and vice versa. Bathroom a bit old fashioned with chipped tiles and missing grout.
Very pleasant stay but can’t rate it as 5 star based on our room.

Where to begin? This is easily the best and highest quality spa/resort experience I’ve ever had. The staff is incredibly kind, attentive and professional, the accommodations are top-notch, the entire experience is one of luxury, pampering, and relaxation. To be honest, I feel a little guilty and embarrassed to be enjoying myself so much in these incredible surroundings with these incredible people And at the same time this place employees hundreds of Cambodians. I did not expect to fall in love with Cambodia, but to my surprise I am and I have. An amazing culture and an amazing hotel. It is by far a top notch, five star experience.

Wow - The staff and service are what makes this place incredible. We think possibly the best customer service experience we've had in a hotel.
Whilst checking in we were officially welcomed by 3 different staff including Ken Keun (Front Office Manager).
We received an Upgrade from Luxury Room, Terrace to Junior Suite.
Our welcome gift was a bouquet of flowers, a bowl of fruit and then a few days later we received 2 Cambodian scarves.
Throughout our stay we were often greeted as Mr & Mrs Brown and usually didn’t have to mention our room number as the staff remembered us. Of notable mention were Sokhurn and Run Heang (makes an awesome Margarita 🍸) from Club Millesime and Sokha from the Citadel. Sokha has been at the hotel since it opened in 2000 & Run Heang has been there for 18 years. This to me shows it’s a great place to work, where staff are valued and this is clearly evident in the wonderful customer service experience.
AccorPlus discount is available at Citadel however no discount at Mouhot's Dream Restaurant, Explorer's Tales - Champagne Bar or the pool bar (which I think pool is pretty standard). Welcome drinks were in the Explorer's Tales - Champagne Bar and included a range of classic and specialty cocktails.
We enjoyed the evening cocktails and canapes in the Club Millésime where there was a great variety of hot and cold canapes.
Complimentary buffet breakfast was served in Citadel and was a range of Western & Asian dishes plus pastries.
The pool is huge and has ample sun lounges and umbrellas. Staff often deliver food and drinks via bicycle.
This hotel has a high level of detail to ensure the gardens and surrounds are beautiful and well maintained.
Throughout our stay there was a large conference with attendees staying in house, plus on two days there was a 300+ group for lunch however neither of these had a major impact on us. A portion of the pool area was set up for outdoor dining for the conference on two nights, we were advised of this prior, given the size of the pool it really did not impact our stay as there is ample room.
The hotel is only a short ride into Pub Street and the old quarter. It was an ideal location for us to be away from the noise and relax on our last few days of holidays.
Late check out received - 2:30pm
I would certainly recommend this hotel to family and friends and hope to visit again in the future.

I have mixed feelings about this place. The place is very nice. But, I think we witnessed some human trafficking going on. There was a young girl (maybe 12 or 13 years old) in the pool the other day with her "papa" who didn't look anything like her. She was dark skinned like the locals and he was white. They looked seductively into each other's eyes while she adorned him with flower petals on his face. She was initiating the play and telling "papa" what to do. There was another woman with her that looked to be her "madam". They played with a boat - passing it back and forth between each other. She touch papa's neck several times. He kissed her on the forehead several times. It was all very suspicious. They left the pool area and returned around 45 minutes later. We didn't see them again after that. We were with group of Americans- we all had the same sick feeling. There was also a group of women the evening before at the pool that we all thought were "working girls". We will most likely try to avoid this hotel chain in the future. We don't want to support any business that allows this on their premises.

We stayed two nights in room 104.
This is a stunning property, spread out, with lots of trees and plants and a large pool with swim-up bar.
Check in was simple, and we received a glass of lemongrass tea.
The room was spacious with a king size bed. The closet had plenty of space and robes, slippers, and nice, thick towels were provided. The bathroom was very nice with a tub and a shower. There were large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. They also provided hard bars of soap that were nice. Bottled water and WiFi were included in the price of the room. The bed was comfortable. At night we found a small towel by each side of the bed with additional slippers. It was a nice touch but seemed like overkill.
The dinner buffet was incredible with many very tasty options, and the breakfast buffet was also nice.
Our visit was very quiet, relaxing, and peaceful.
The only thing I'd suggest is that management take steps to address the slippery tiles entering the pool. Until they do so, be very careful when getting into or out of the pool and hold on to the handrail.
We found the location convenient for our needs.
