Virgie at the reception desk was very helpful when we checked in. We were there for my husband’s birthday and she put us in a fantastic suite (437). It exceeded our expectations! We enjoyed our stay despite the rain and we will be back on our next visit!

The check in statt was friendly, but had to ask how to get breakfast benefit we paid for. Room was nice, but the pillows were flat tires...all 4 of them. The hotel room was nice with a very small balcony. Only one real restaurant on property and 2 snack bars to choose from. Nothing is really close by within walking distance, especially for a person with mobility problems. Hotel should have wheelchairs or mobility scooters available, or even a golfcart available to get around to nearby restrauants and shopping. The bicycles were a nice touch if you can ride one. If your older and have trouble getting around, stay somewhere else.

As I pulled into the parking lot, I realized that I had stayed at this location when it was a Marriott Courtyard. During checkin, I confirmed that it had been a Marriott Courtyard. I felt a little disappointed, I was hoping for something a little bit nicer.
After a few days, the hotel began to grow on me. I still think it is a bit of a stretch to refer to it as a resort but the hotel has a lot going for it. The pool area is nice and the property sits right on the beach. The location isn't far from the airport and it is central to the Island and it is close to Kapa'a.
The downside of the property was the sleep quality. The A/C in our room was extremely loud when it cycled on (other reviewers have mentioned as well). I treid various things including getting the room cool and then turning off, only to wake up feeling too hot. Ulitmately, you want to feel like you get a good night's sleep.

The Sheraton was supposed to be the icing on the cake of our 3 island trip; a bit of luxury and pampering before flying back to a cold grey Wales. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to our expectations.
We’d booked a deluxe ocean front king (thankfully it wasn’t in the block adjacent to the very large, very noisy plant) but whilst the view was lovely, the room itself was very tired with lifting flooring, scratched and chipped furniture, bed sheets too small for the bed and the most ineffective shower I have experienced. There were connecting doors either side and neither were sound-proofed - the neighbours on one side were party animals returning somewhat inebriated in the early hours, the others started the day with -ahem- vigorous activity. The balcony was marginally larger than standard rooms but still barely had room for a couple of (very uncomfortable) chairs and small table.
Unless you need the space for a rollaway bed, I really wouldn’t waste the extra money on this type of room - sea view absolutely, deluxe ocean front not.
Buffet breakfast was included in our rate; we never did find out whether you could choose anything off the a la carte menu because the hostess couldn’t bring herself to say “good morning” never mind explain what the options were. Apart from the egg station, the buffet was barely better, at nominally $35 a head, than the freebie at a HIE or Hilton.
Dinner at MoaMoa was equally unimpressive; to the extent that we didn’t dine in the hotel again.
Overall a disappointingly poor experience that I wouldn’t have expected at a Sheraton.

Just returned from a wonderful trip to Kauai, my first time visiting HI. We enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton Coconut Beach Resort. The layout of the hotel was excellent. It's big enough, but not overwhelming. The pool/hot tub, game room, fitness center, restaurants, etc.. were all close together and easy to get to. That's part of the reason why I wanted to stay at this hotel. I don't enjoy staying at places that are so big, that you get lost trying to find your way around. The Sheraton Coconut Beach was not like that at all. I also loved that it is directly adjacent to the beach. They have a lawn area right next to the sand with chairs and loungers so that you can sit and relax and watch the waves and even see whales farther out in the ocean. We would spend a good amount of time each day, sitting on the chairs, relaxing, talking, and watching the water.
The rooms were very spacious and clean. We lucked out and had a great ocean view location. There was a tiny balcony off the room, where I liked to spend time. The housekeeping staff was very nice and when we had service, left the room sparkling clean.
There a few dining options at the resort, which we ended up eating at most of our stay. We had the morning breakfast buffet, which was good, but the best was The Crooked Surf. We ate there for most of our meals. The food was delicious and my husband said that the specialty cocktails were really good. Also, bonus points for the location. There is a Longs right across the street and you are within walking distance to a mini-mall with a Safeway, other restaurants nearby, and a cute mall with shops and restaurants. I would definitely stay at this resort again.

The first thing I want to comment on is the amazing customer service! Issues we had were promptly addressed and wait staff was extremely friendly. This hotel is very nice from an amenity, food, pool, and beach access standpoint. Its also a perfect midway point for those that want to explore a lot of the island. HOWEVER- I had to give 4/5 vs 5/5 because we had paid extra for an ocean front beach room and were put right next to a huge exhaust/utility room. We couldn't even hear the ocean that was 100 feet away from our patio. It ran all night and we could also hear it through our room walls. We did request to move rooms after the first night and the front desk staff were extremely accommodating. We had to move to a double queen when we had a king, but it was still an ocean front room and we were willing to do so due to how bad the noise was.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel but do not pay extra for the ocean front rooms. Honestly the way the hotel is laid out, the ocean view rooms give you just as nice a view for less cost and definitely less noise! I would encourage hotel management to make a note of the fan noise for the room we were in when booking and provide a discounted price instead of charging the same price as the rooms on the other side of the building that don't have this issue.

This was our 1st stop upon check-in and a perfect way to kick off our vacation after traveling. Local, relaxing live music right there by the pool and beach. Kyle and Janice were our bartenders. It was Janice’s first day and we got a couple of good laughs as she worked through it. I think her professional but down to earth personality will fit well with this team. Her drink recommendations were on point. Always drink local, fresh drinks. They were delicious. We love to know where the locals go to eat, drink, and spend time. Kyle gave us a phenomenal list of locally owned options for each thing we asked, all over the island. We let people sitting next to us take pics of the list because it was so awesome. Perfect start to our stay! Thank you.

We chose the Sheraton Coconut Beach because of the hotel being on the beach and centrally located on Kauai.
We had thought of staying near Poipu Beach but decided to be on the middle of the island so we could drive south one day and north the other. We enjoyed the activities including the yoga, biking and walking next to the beach. I wish they had Pickleball, but otherwise there was a lot to do including pool tables and a fitness center.
We enjoyed the breakfasts and sat in the hammocks and enjoyed the pool and hot tub.
We would return to the Sheraton Coconut Beach.

The coffee bar was rather pricey, once we figured out going to the market down the street was much cheaper, we did that every morning.
Biggest upset is that we were told we had to put a card down for $300 for room damages. I felt like that was a lot but I've had to put cards down before and then once the room was cleared, I have been refunded. The charge was never dropped so we called and were told that it was for resort fees. There was a miscommunication there as we thought we'd already paid for the room and that charge would be refunded.
Overall, good experience.

Overall, the room was large, nicely appointed, with a beautiful view of the ocean and sunrise.
The hall of our building, especially outside the ice machine/ laundry area, the elevator, and the entry smelled awful. It smelled like a garbage bin that had been out in the heat for a while. Every time we entered the building, the smell took our breath away.
The elevator and hall were very dirty and someone spilled granola or something right outside the entry to the elevator and it never got vacuumed anytime over our last 3 days. It was still on the floor when we checked out and it was obvious so the housekeeping staff could not have missed seeing it.
The food that we had at the tiki hut by the pool ( nachos and chicken fingers were below average but the poke bowl had good tuna but was mostly plain white rice with no soy or seasoning.
We would not stay at this Sheraton location again for all the reasons mentioned.

We stayed here as part of our Delta Vacation getaway. I was a bit nervous because of mixed reviews, but I came to the conclusion that every review of Hawaii hotels is mixed. I suspect people expect more for the price. I like to use pros and cons in reviews but this is more suited to just staying factual.
The price is comparable to other mid-range resorts in the area.
The amenities are nice but not fancy. Good pool and hot tub that were often busy but not crowded. Same with the restaurants. There are three listed, but really only two. The Moa Moa is the nice one and serves breakfast, too, including a pricey but very good breakfast buffet. The other two, the Crooked Surf and Fire Hen are really the same, the first is the poolside bar and the second the "indoor" game room bar. It has pool tables, arcade games and an oversized, multi player foosball table. You get menus for both in those areas. Solid food for those wanting a break from the town. There is not much indoor space for rainy days, but there are daily activities such as lei-making and shave ice by the pool.
The resort fee does include use of the bikes, so take advantage of the beautiful bike path behind the hotel. Go north (left as you look at the ocean).
The rooms are newly renovated and very clean. We had a king, poolside on the third floor. Walk in shower. Fairly small room, with just enough space for two chairs and a small desk and chair.
The lenai was very small. Two chairs, and a small round stand, but a bit of a Tetris game getting two people with two drinks on it. It looked like the ocean-view rooms might be bigger.
There is great access to the beach, including lounge chairs, Adirondacks, and umbrellas, but the east side surf is pretty rough so use caution.
This is definitely geared toward families. Lots of kids. They didn't enforce the pool hours, so most days there were loud kids in the pool by 7 a.m., sometimes as early as 6.
The island pretty much shuts down at 9, and the resort bar closes at 10, so if you are the type who'd rather be drinking cocktails at midnight instead of listening to everyone getting up at 6, beware.
Overall a good place to stay, particularly if you have kids.

Spent 4 nights here in March 2025 in an ocean view room. The room was a pretty typical Sheraton room - nothing distinguishing. The bathroom, while clean, was clearly in need of some updating.
Staff was mostly friendly, although many just walked by without any acknowledgment.
Breakfast buffet was also pretty typical but more than adequate, although the service was slow for coffee, getting the check, etc.
Grounds are lovely. Very nice pool area, plenty of chairs/umbrellas during the time we visited but could see there being a shortage of chairs during busy times. Small, clean beach but not swimmable due to the all the rocks.
While quite some distance from the major tourist area, the location was convenient to the airport and lots of shops and restaurants were very close.
Wifi, which is covered by the $50 daily resort fee, was a joke. It's 2025, how a hotel can't have adequate Wifi is beyond me.
If you're a Bonvoy elite member, don't expect any recognition or benefits (I'm platinum, which was never acknowledged). Room upgrade: sorry, we don't do that. Enhanced Wifi (sorry, we don't offer that). Late check out: Sorry, we don't offer that.
Overall, I'd say this is a typical Sheraton, just in a nicer location. Until recently, it was. Courtyard by Marriott.
I'm sure I'll get the canned management response: Thanks for your comments, we'll share them with our team, etc. But the team knows! From my perspective, they just don't care!

My husband and I wrapped up an amazing 5-day birthday group trip in Honolulu and headed to Kauai for some much-needed rest and relaxation—and this hotel was just the vibe we needed! It’s small, super cozy, and literally right on the beach—perfect for kicking back and taking in the beauty of Kauai.
Most of the staff were warm, welcoming, and went out of their way to make us feel at home—except the front desk team, who unfortunately gave off some chilly vibes (lots of frowns, not much aloha spirit). But shoutout to Karen at the concierge desk—she was an absolute gem! She worked her magic and got us booked on a last-minute hiking tour that ended up being one of the highlights of our trip.
Now about the room—let’s just say the hotel has definitely seen better days. While the room was super spacious (huge win!), it could use a little love and updating. The balcony was teeny (barely fit a chair), and the bathroom needed a solid deep clean. Also, only one tiny elevator was working, so we got plenty of steps in using the stairs!
BUT—if you stay here, please do yourself a favor and hop on the free bikes! We did the 10-mile beach ride, and it was one of the most intense, breathtaking experiences we've ever had. We even used the bikes to grab groceries and head to breakfast—such a fun way to explore.
And I have to give a special shoutout to Kyle, the bartender—he was the true MVP of our stay! His energy was absolutely infectious, and he had the best recommendations. I showed him a random waterfall photo on my phone and—no joke—he knew exactly where it was. He made our nights at the bar feel like hanging out with an old friend.
All in all, the hotel isn’t perfect, but it had just the right amount of charm for a relaxing, memorable escape.

We recently stayed at the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach, and overall, it was a pleasant experience with a few important caveats. The hotel is located in Kapaa, a charming small town with an inviting town center full of amazing food trucks, local shops, and a laid-back vibe. It’s also fairly central if you’re looking to explore different parts of the island and is close to the airport, which is convenient.
The hotel itself is somewhat small but enjoyable. It has a cool setup with board games, lawn games, a beachside location, and a nice pool and bar area that add to the relaxed vibe. The rooms seem newly renovated and clean, which we appreciated.
One plus is they host luau nights about three times a week, which is super convenient if you plan to attend one—just walk out from your room and you’re there. However, this creates a huge parking problem for actual hotel guests. Between 5–9 PM on luau nights, the lot fills up quickly, and many guests (like myself) are left without nearby parking. On one of these nights, I had to park in the furthest lot from my room. The parking spaces are extremely compact, and despite parking properly in my assigned spot, the person next to me apparently had trouble getting in their car and decided to key my rental, damaging the door and side panel.
To make things worse, I overheard hotel security the night before talking about a car break-in, including a smashed window. The hotel unfortunately does not have any outdoor security cameras, so there was no footage to review. They did fill out a report for their insurance, but not much else could be done, which was disappointing.
That said, the staff was kind, helpful, and attentive, and aside from the security/parking situation, the hotel itself provided a solid stay. If you’re looking for a centrally located hotel with great access to the beach and town life, this could be a great option.
However, if parking availability, car safety, and general area security are a priority for you, I would consider other areas like Princeville or Poipu, which felt a bit more secure and less congested.

The staff was friendly upon check in. The POG welcome juice was refreshing and a nice touch. Dawn at the concierge desk was super sweet when handing us the leis.
The room wasn’t ready yet when we arrived so we decided to chill by at the hotel bar and met the true gem of the hotel-Jeff.
Jeff was super friendly and could tell my husband and I were a little freaked about the cloudy weather. Jeff was super awesome and told us about all the cool local spots to check out. Jeff has great recommendations for local restaurants and things to go around the island.
Thanks for everything Jeff!
The hotel is central to everything, making it a quick drive to either either side of the island.
Overall really great experience!

We used Costco travel to book our trip to Kauai this spring. We got a good deal on 5 nights at the Sheraton in Kapa’a. The staff was very friendly. Our room was clean and we liked the wave graphic on the wall. We did the resort’s sunrise yoga which was so great on resort grounds in the grass by the ocean. We did lei making at the resort which was so fun to learn how to do. The hot tub jets were strong. There were tons of games to play on the lawn and a nice walking path. The lobby’s big aloha sign is a cool photo opportunity. The Moa Moa restaurant at the resort was PHENOMENAL.
