Emergency accommodation after Storm Eowyn left us without light or heat for several days but our stay at the Savoy was the silver lining to a very dark cloud. The staff went out of their way to be more than helpful with any request so much so that it began to feel like home after only a couple of days . We had our dog with us and she even had her own water bowl place setting beside our table for breakfast. The food was lovely and varied and I'd say very reasonably priced for the standard and first class presentation . We stayed in the Clarinda room which was very comfortable with views over the garden and a huge en-suite bathroom. All in all I'd recommend this boutique but very traditional hotel to anyone visiting Ayr

I can't believe how much I enjoyed the visit after the initial negative welcome.
Arrived early, welcome a bit iffy, came back later the experience was totally different.
Sarah was so engaging and welcoming.
The food is tasty and outstanding,
Rooms are quaint and homely and just the ticket.
Thank you, brilliant staff..
My husband and I really enjoy the food at the Savoy Park. The festive menu is also excellent with us both having turkey which was a big portion, really tasty and piping hot. The atmosphere is also very cosy and festive. If you want lovely food at a reasonable price...

Cleanliness was not great. The stairs were not vaccumed while we were there. The bathrooms were not sparkling. The radiator was luke warm and the electric heater provided was dirty with what looked like blood stains on it.
We rejected one room as it was not clean. The receptionist was very brusque and unapologetic and got quite aggressive. She offered another room at extra cost.
Breakfast was ok but the dining room was cold. The decor in the dining room was traditional Scottish and suited the age and style of the building.
It is a shame that what was a stylish hotel is clearly struggling.

Only a two night break. The building itself looks very nice from the outside and to the inside a nice cosy bar area. Drinks at the bar were quite expensive and choice wasn’t brilliant. Breakfast was below average having full English with nearly raw fried eggs. We stayed in a cosy double room which was clean and nice and a good shower. We had a nice garden view too. There are interconnected doors to the next room which I wasn’t keen with as privacy was non existent. We could hear telephone conversations and coughing and sneezing whilst we were trying to sleep. I’d only recommend this hotel for a short stay and for a basic room with no frills. I give 3 stars but was close to giving only 2.

I needed a quiet convenient base following eye surgery and the Savoy Park proved the perfect choice.
I booked a twin room which I was immediately warned on booking was up two flights of stairs, the second one quite steep. There is no lift but we don’t have mobility issues and managed with no problem. The room was “Cosy” as advertised but had everything we needed, really clean and comfortable beds and bedding, toiletries and hospitality tray.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay and would happily return. Access to green space beside the sea 5 minutes walk away and a short stroll to the town centre, dog friendly, great staff - what more do you need?

My husband and I were fortunate to stay at this hotel for the air show weekend. The hotel is very impressive with plenty of parking and beautiful grounds at the rear. Our room (cosy twin) was comfortable, very clean and provided everything we needed with the bonus of overlooking the stunning gardens. We slept very well and woke up to a superb breakfast. We also had dinner which was fantastic. All the staff worked extremely hard over this busy weekend and went out of their way to provide a high standard of service. We thank you for the most enjoyable stay and memorable weekend. We will most certainly be back.

Desperate for Sunday lunch. Popped in with 2 dogs and wearing shorts. Most welcoming with open arms. We were shown to the lounge area which resembled a gentleman's club. Staff very friendly and welcoming to the dogs. Food good but maybe a bit pricey for beef.

My husband & I booked a last minute 2 night stay at the Savoy House hotel.
First impressions:- Hotel built in the 1800 stunning looking building, interior kept its stunning olde world look.. met with a cheery receptionist who was gracious in changing our 2 night deal with dinner and breakfast to have our dinner the second night as we had arrived later than expected. Our room was on the second floor, up two flights wouldn’t be good for those with mobility issues but perfect for us. The room was clean double bed with towels on the bed, freeview tv and antique looking furniture in keeping with the traditional style hotel.
Dinner in the restaurant, was beautiful food was very Scottish with many courses to select I had haggis to start and salmon for main course, really lovely.
All in all I’d definitely recommend this Hotel. The staff couldn’t do enough for you., the lovely Sarah in reception with Vivian & Lauren serving us delicious food for dinner and full Scottish breakfast with many more vegetarian & vegan options.. Just to add that this hotel is pet friendly. Not that you can tell as it’s super clean.. thanks to all the staff who made our stay.. 5 ⭐️..
