After arriving at the port of Santorini, we looked for our transportation arranged by the hotel. This was not easy because of the many taxi drivers present. Also, the name of the hotel was incorrect.
As soon as we arrived, we were offered a welcome cocktail and were also informed about the room upgrade. After the first routine explanations about the services, we were asked if we were interested in dining at the hotel restaurant, a dinner we had already booked and which they apparently did not remember.
The trip to the room is made by electric caddies, it really is a journey as the route is quite long.
Our room is not very large, being a Junior Suite, we would have expected a larger room. The room is standard, composed with the shower and toilet side by side. There is no real division between the bathroom and the room.
If you are interested in more details about the room and the hotel in general, check our video review on YouTube @travelwithpassionandstyle
There are no pillows that we requested during the reservation. We wrote to the front desk and even phoned, but despite the promise to bring them to us “immediately,” we had to wait until the next day and write a second time to get them.
After a short swim in the pool, we got ready for dinner. The hotel restaurant convinced us, to be fair, we must say that we were the only customers in the restaurant, and this helped the service. In any case, both the waiter and the sommelier were impeccable. The food and wine pairings were also excellent. We opted for the tasting menu since we always like to explore new combinations and were very happy with it.
If you are interested in more details about the dinner and the hotel in general, check our video review on YouTube @travelwithpassionandstyle
The next day, we can evaluate the breakfast. The drink service is not very fast, but on the other hand, the buffet is very interesting and includes a good choice of sweet and savory.
The hotel has two shared swimming pools, but we personally enjoyed the gym much more, different from many others. This one, in fact, is outdoors and provides a nice view of the sea. During our stay, one treadmill was not working.
WiFi coverage is guaranteed everywhere; we had no problems during our stay.
At night, we had to unplug the phone next to the bed. The reason is the display, it remains on and the light is quite annoying.
With the phone off... we notice that the room is still lit up, this time by the emergency exit sign.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but we honestly do not think we would want to return to this hotel in the future. Service plays a very important role for us, excluding the restaurant and bar, the concierge did not convince us at all.
We are talking about a 5-star hotel, the simple request for two pillows, made three weeks before arrival and redone again on the first day, must be fulfilled immediately.

We had a lovely time at Santo Mine celebrating our 35th Wedding Anniversary. The location is breathtaking with the best views of the sunset that you could wish for. Everything looks brand new, and the bar, dinning and pool area is beautifully designed. We had a sunset suite with pool. The room itself is quite small, but it’s all you need, and the outside sitting area and pool give the privacy you need for a floating breakfast or afternoon read in the sun. We did a wine tasting which is very worthwhile. Who knew that Greek wines are so good? The assistant F and B Manager did the tasting (sorry, I didn’t get her name) but she was very good and informative. In fact, all of the staff were outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. A special mention to Yanis and Katriona (there were 2!) at the pool. It is worth following the path up past the outdoor gym to the newly build church to get great views of Oia too.
The hotel is only 5 minutes or so from Oia by a path just opposite reception. There are many excellent restaurants, and we got recommendations from the Concierge and they were all excellent. It is worth getting them to book as we always got the best seats in the house. The hotel really is an oasis and it’s nice to return after the hustle and bustle of the town.
I’m giving it 5 stars for the overall experience. But it’s not 5 stars in the way The Oriental or Gleneagles is. But I would recommend it as a top-quality place to stay on Santorini.

I stayed at Santo Mine as a getaway after my wedding, had a stunning honeymoon suite. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout our stay and couldn’t be more helpful. With just the right balance of consideration and privacy.
The team in front of house where attentive and knowledgeable with any requests. George and the golf cart team were always on hand if needed to get around the resort.
We had a wonderful spa experience at Aegeo and the team where fantastic , eri and Maria looked after all our needs throughout the treatments. The hamman spa was top class.
The restaurant experience at Alme was exceptional, we booked the private 7 course dinning and we were not disappointed, the restaurant catered for our every need including providing a substitute 7 course vegetarian meal. The chefs even came out and greeted us after the meal.
Overall, we would highly recommend the hotel to any couples visiting Santorini. This perfect oasis in the Greek city of Oia is a gem of a hotel.

We recently stayed at Santo Mine Oia Suites and were thoroughly impressed by our experience. From the moment we arrived, it became clear that we had made the right choice for our vacation. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the Sunset and Sea View Jacuzzi room, which provided an incredible view of the famous Santorini sunset. The private jacuzzi was the perfect way to wind down after a day of exploring, especially on the slightly colder evenings. It added a touch of luxury and comfort, and we couldn’t imagine our stay without it.
Santo Mine Oia Suites is a relatively new resort, and it certainly lives up to its expectations in terms of the rooms and amenities. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get. The design is fresh and modern, with an attention to detail that made the entire suite feel special. The spaciousness of the room was just right. We received a complementary beach bag, daily water cartons and sometimes our towels were replaced twice a day. The resort’s newness, however, does come with a small downside. Because it's still relatively undiscovered, there were moments when we felt a little lost, particularly upon arrival. We were dropped off directly at Santo Mine and had no idea where the reception was. It turns out, the reception is shared with Santo Pure, a sister property just five minutes away on foot. However, exursion transfers tended to pick/drop off at Santo Pure. A heads-up about this from the resort would have been appreciated.
Another thing to note is that Santo Mine's location means there is quite a bit of walking involved, which may not suit everyone. The scenic walks to the town center and Ammoudi Bay are about 10 minutes each, but they are uphill and downhill, so be prepared for some exertion. Alternatively, you can take a cab, but it will cost you around 30 euros for a relatively short distance. If you’re ready to explore on foot, though, the walks are beautiful and worth the effort, offering stunning views along the way.
On the dining side, breakfast at Santo Mine was pleasant but repetitive. We were there for several days and noticed that the menu didn’t change much, expect for one or two items. The standard offerings like scrambled eggs and bacon were consistently available, but the lack of an omelette station was surprising for a resort of this caliber. A bit more variety would go a long way in elevating the overall breakfast experience.
There were a couple of other small drawbacks as well. The pool, while gorgeous, was not heated, which made it less inviting on cooler days. While this wasn’t a major issue as we had the jacuzzi, having the option for a heated pool would have been a nice touch. Additionally, we requested a late checkout of just 30 minutes but were declined due to the resort being busy, which was a little disappointing.
That said, the staff were friendly, warm, and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. We were welcomed with complimentary wine and fruit platter in our room to celebrate our anniversary, along with thoughtful messages that added a personal touch. Overall, Santo Mine Oia Suites truly delivered, and we would happily stay here again. The views, the rooms, and the overall experience made it a standout choice for our Santorini vacation.

Resort is new. Has great location, friendly staff. Breakfast was great and you will see stunning view of sunsets from here. Housekeeping staff, golf cart drivers were all friendly. There is a shortcut walkway to go to Oia town near reception and that is very good. The flaw is the management and some services. We booked directly which included transfers, welcome bottle of wine and % off of food. We expected that after booking, in a week or two, they would ask for our flight details but they did not. I had to write to them that transfers are included and here are flight details. I also mentioned that we have big bags and send proper vehicles. But the vehicle for return transfer was small and we had to cram in our bags, where as the transfer to the hotel was unpleasant. The driver was rude. It was super hot and we saw that all other drivers were handing over chilled water bottles to their passengers. Our driver pulled out bottle and started drinking. We had to ask him to give us water.
Then we had plans to sip welcome wine and watch sunset from our terrace but the welcome bottle was not delivered. We had to ask for it. The food we ordered was supposed to be discounted per package by 15 to 25% (I don't remember what the percentage was) but they didn't give that discount and we forgot to ask. It is not a sign of a classy hotel and they should improve. Finally, we requested to give us an extra hour for checkout. They 'granted' 45 minutes. I believe it was not a good gesture. Other hotels give even 2 extra hours as a goodwill gesture if we ask for an hour. People ask extension for a reason and not for fun. Hope the management improves to make the stay pleasant.

I spent five nights at this spectacular property and highly recommend Santo Mine. Everything about this hotel was wonderful, from the rooms, to the property, to the daily breakfast we had added to our room rate -- and the friendly, communicative, and ever helpful staff. Many people flock to Oia for the sunsets, and once you see one you can understand why. I would argue that Santo Mine and Santo Pure are one of the best views you will get of this beautiful nightly occurrence. And I loved the convenience of the property's footpath to Oia's shops and restaurants!
Our room was comfortable and beautiful, it was well taken care of by the housekeeping team throughout the course of our stay, and the concierge team was so helpful in arranging transfers to beach clubs and whatever else we requested information on or needed. Everything was explained with detail, kindness, and care. The team at breakfast each day was also fantastic and accommodating, as well as the hotel bar team. Five stars all around. You can stay at many beautiful hotels, but the team at a hotel will always take a luxury property from great to excellent, and that is certainly the case here.

Sensational new hotel. Great rooms, lovely caring service. Everyone took huge pride in delivering world class courtesy in a very special location.
Our suite (817) was spotless, perfect layout, great facilities and close to the pool, spa and restaurants. It’s a village for guests and quite well spread out if, like us you want to explore the whole resort which is life-affirming.
Even the garden and room service staff are keen to help with a genuine care for comfort. Plenty of effort has gone in to getting it right for the Santo Mine even though they’ve only just launched this spring.
Reception staff are terribly accommodating too, buggies are at hand all areas to deliver wherever you choose and the drivers are full of local recommendations to make the most of the island. There’s self-evidently a huge pride in Santorini as a destination and quite rightly so. Losing oneself in the local town of Oia is totally worth it.
Ask Hector at the pool for a double espresso for me and soak up the tranquility, the atmosphere and the sophisticated chic. We already can’t wait to return.

Pros - Beautiful Hotel with Great Views
Cons - Hidden Fees (lots of them)
- Hotel is affiliated with non-ethical business for tourist activities. Example, Buggy rental service delivered buggy on 1/4 tank. We filled up before returning. Company and hotel refused to refund or credit. Also, employee of buggy company tried to up charge by 80 Euro, said it was extra service and the government said it was needed. We declined.
— Ordered manicure for Wife for 75 Euro. Nail specialist came to room and my wife and I had to rearrange the room ourselves and move a table from the outside into the room so she could work. Cost ended up being 85 Euro.
- Do not use the golf carts for rides, the employees ask for Tips and will also tell you sad stories about how they make no money. One even held out his hand after.

Santo Mine raises in a higher level the luxurius spirit already known from Santo Pure (ex Santo Maris), in which we had spent a few days of relaxation twice in the past. This brand new complex of Suites is located in perhaps the most magnificent area in Santorini with limitless view of the Aegean sea. The Suites are very comfortable with an architecture and colours that match ideally to the surrounding environment. The terrace of the restaurant and the pool give the impression that are built above the Aegean sea!!! There is even an outdoors (!) gym beside the pool. The personnel was very friendly and polite and always in alert to satisfy all our wishes and needs! All public areas are very quiet, especially the pools' areas, so the ideal place to leave all thoughts behind, relax and refuel body and mind with energy. The variety of plates at the breakfast was amazing including many local recipies and fresh Santorinian and Cretan products. The restaurant has a brief but very delicious list of main dishes and perhaps the best deserts I have ever tasted for long time. Oia, the most romantic village in Santorini, is a few steps away from the facility using a stone path that the owners have created. Time passed so quickly feeling that we wanted to stay more. As the taxi was moving away, I was thinking that this is a place that 5 seems not enough to express the level of satisfaction...

Santo Mine Hotel's location is simply unparalleled. Built on the remnants of a stone mine, it carries an ancient energy while offering the best view of the caldera and the endless blue of the Aegean Sea. Just take a 3-minute-walk through the stone path that leads to the most central point of Oia to explore the amazing views of the village, its vibrant stone paths and the artistic shops and restaurants.
Our suite was perfectly decorated; a balanced mix of traditional Cycladic architecture and contemporary luxury. The room featured a spacious layout, a plush king-sized bed with an utterly comfortable mattress, some beautiful artifacts and a tasteful open plan bathroom but the crown's jewel was the private balcony with the most incredible view of the sunset and a perfect-for-two infinity pool.
The amenities at Santo Mine Hotel are designed to provide the utmost in comfort and luxury. The infinity pool was a standout feature, offering a serene spot to relax and take in the stunning views. The hotel’s spa services were exceptional, with a range of treatments that left us feeling really rejuvenated and for that we want to thank all the spa team members for the services they provided. We also enjoyed the outdoor fitness center that sits perfect under the rocky cliffs of Oia offering a spectacular view of the sea: a truly unique experience working out in the morning with this kind of view .
The breakfast was a delightful experience, a wide range of dishes made of local high quality ingredients, perfectly cooked and presented, served with a perfectly tasting coffee but dining at the ālme restaurant was the real deal. A fine dining experience offering nothing less than a Michelin star restaurant. We were served a 7-course degustation menu that focused on seafood, intricately prepared, with a particular emphasis on textures and balances, while the chef seems to revolve his preparations around long fermentation processes as well as dry-aged fish techniques. I can't really pick a favourite dish but the sea bass carpaccio with sour cherries, cilantro, citrus, and bukovo was one of the most - if not the most - amazing dishes I have ever tasted while the tuna wellington is a category of its own: a redefinement of a classic.
The staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive to ensure our stay was perfect and the concierge team provided us with excellent recommendations for local attractions and arranged every aspect of our trip, including transportation and reservations for us.
Last but not least, attention was paid to the details:
-The black stones, the marbles, the rusty looking metallic constructions along the clean lines that define the buildings mark this hotel as an architectural testament.
-The herbs planted in the yard lying in front of the private pools filled the air with an amazing smell, a journey to my childhood memories in my village, providing a truly authentic experience of the greek summer
-The clothes that the staff wore radiated serenity and well being.
-Even though the days were hot, there was a breeze during the night and while we were dining at the ālme restaurant, my wife was asked if she felt cold and she was offered a blanket .

We chose this place for our short mini moon for 5 nights and we were very glad it was a short trip as we were supremely disappointed. There is a lot of good to be said about this place so I am actually going to start there….the breakfast is great, lots of choice and the service is good. The general staff are very friendly and helpful. The style in general has that ‘Greek Chic” thing going on which is nice. Now for the bad…I book rooms within a hotel based on our specific requirements which, for us, usually means paying more but getting what we want out of our experience. I booked a Majestic Suite with Private pool and Jacuzzi because it said it was private, peaceful with sunset views. It had a private pool, a jacuzzi and a sunset view but it was a very long way from being private and peaceful! We were in 801 and it has a lovely view over the ocean but the problem is the very busy road that runs directly in front of it. We couldn’t have a normal conversation as we had to keep stopping until the noisy coach or car went past and you are completely overlooked which is awful and uncomfortable. Some people don’t mind this in which case the room was nice enough although the cleaning leaves a lot to be desired as does the mini bar service and the turn down guy left our front door open which we were horrified by when we got back from dinner, luckily all was fine but a very silly error that could’ve ended very badly. We ate at the hotel complex one night at the Alios Ilios restaurant which is part of Santo Pure but they take you in a gold cart. Lovely views if you’re lucky enough to get a table on the front edge but a lot of things were off the menu and the lamb dish we had was very fatty and gristly, very unpleasant. We did point it out to the waiter as we had left most of it but nothing was said. This place is not cheap and simply does not deliver at the level it charges for even with the discount it gives. BE HONEST!!!! If your rooms are not private and peaceful DO NOT advertise them as such!! We never would have booked this place if they had been honest about what we were actually booking and this was our honeymoon which makes it even more upsetting. To be fair to the staff they did try to move us and showed us a few options but none of the rooms offered to us were what we needed as those rooms were already taken and what was left was not suitable. There was no discount offered or a free week at a quiet time which would not have made our honeymoon any better but it would have made me feel like they valued us as clients and cared that they had misled us. POOR.

The staff helpfully heated our pool to our desired temperature, and supported any requests we required. A must stay in Santorini.
