We had a warm and friendly welcome from Nayeli for our five nights at this small and beautifully situated hotel on the beach. It is a peaceful haven surrounded by the noisy bustle of the hotel zone. All the rooms have good sea views but we were fortunate to have Room 4 on the first floor with two balconies overlooking the sea and beach. The rooms are tastefully decorated with handicrafts from different areas of southern Mexico. The beach was clean with no weed and the waves easily negociable by the average swimmer. Unfortunately our peace was disturbed on Saturday night by the loud music from the adjacent disco (only a couple of metres from Room 4) but thankfully it stopped at 11 pm.
The food in the restaurant at all meals, including breakfast, was delicious from a highly imaginative menu. The prices were higher than most restaurants we had visited in other parts of Mexico but that is only to be expected on the beach. A 15% propina (tip) is automatically added to the bill. Martin was always extremely attentive and helpful and Nayeli’s advice on activities was much appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would strongly recommend Piedra Escondida. Muchas gracias a todos.

Great - small and very cozy place with a nice beach and great restaurant
We stayed here for four nights in December and could have been here much longer. If you are looking for a small but very cozy stay in Tulum with beachview from every room, very friendly and helpful stuff, free parking and an excellent restaurant, this is our place!

The hotel is well-maintained, clean, and comfortable, offering a peaceful retreat. Its location, just a short drive from town with a shared private beach, provided convenience without sacrificing tranquility. Waking up to the ocean view from our room was a treat.
Surrounded by nearby restaurants and shops, the hotel felt connected yet secluded enough for a relaxing stay. We had such a lovely time here and would gladly return in the future.

All of the hotel staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. Manager Nayeli and Martín were always able to provide good advice for our excursions. We would come back to the Piedra Escondida any time with great pleasure!!

Great location, food was amazing and great staff! Only downside was the sargassum but it was everywhere in tulum. Nyeli and Martin were excellent hosts. The food was great we ate there almost every dinner. Breakfast was included. Fresh everyday. There was a 7-11 close by for snack and drinks....

This little hotel is a real gem. We loved our stay there - it felt secluded and private, even though the street outside was busy and hectic. We stayed in an upstairs room and loved sitting on the balcony overlooking the sea. All the rooms have sea views with hammocks and chairs for lounging. Each room is literally a few steps to the water, such a joy to come back to after long days out and about and also, a joy just to hang out there on our balcony, on the beach, in the loungers and in the private little sea cove.
The restaurant on site is really delicious - and we are particular about our food. Once we tasted the breakfast (included) the first morning we were hooked and looked forward to waking up to the sunrise and then an amazing regional breakfast every morning. Fruit plate, pancakes / crepes, omelettes, eggs Veracruz, Mayan style eggs even enchiladas. We got in the habit of walking barefoot from our room, across the sand and into the restaurant. Loved it so much we ate several dinners there.
From the minute we arrived and throughout the entire stay, the staff went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed. Martin, Nayeli and Juanita were amazing, cheery, helpful and fun to chat with. They suggested a fantastic tour to Chichén Itzá, made recommendations for restaurants in the area and helped create a lovely atmosphere.
The only downside was that the bed was very hard, I got a crick in my neck from sleeping on it. Nothing a massage on the beach can't fix!!!
Highly recommend, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
PS>
In March, the sargassum seaweed already arrived but they had several guys removing the seaweed each morning. We went in the water anyway

This is one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Let’s start with the staff. Nayeli the manager gave us all kinds of helpful tips and suggestions from the cheapest atms to the best way to see all Tulum has to offer to booking a private massage on our balcony with the sound of the waves in the background. It was my birthday and Martin surprised me at our room with a dessert. Jesus mixed awesome cocktails and Juanita served us breakfast everyday with a smile and attentiveness. Our shuttle left early and they even left lunch for us to take.
The grounds are awesome. There are plenty of loungers hammocks etc. right on the beach. We had a room with a balcony-perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The room was pristine, comfortable and beautifully decorated.
The location is ideal. It’s technically the hotel zone but was quiet even during the weekend. So you can walk to everything and come back to tranquility.
I cannot recommend this place enough!

My partner and I were visiting Tulum and I decided to surprise her with one night here. I was also popping the big question this day and had been emailing the staff long before our arrival to make sure the day went as perfect as possible.
They were absolutely amazing in every way I could ask for, I can’t thank them enough for making our experience so wonderful and inviting. The lovely host made us feel so comfortable from the second we arrived, she instantly knew who I was and kept my secret safe until after the proposal. Our room was lovely, had a view of the private beach and was close to fun shops and restaurants. And the AC worked great.
We wanted to eat lunch in their restaurant since the reviews were amazing. There was a private function being held inside but that didn’t stop this amazing staff from setting us on right on the beach and delivering amazing table service to us anyways.
The breakfast they offer was amazing, the setting and location is absolutely beautiful and the staff is incredible. Again, I cannot say enough how special and enjoyable our stay was here at Piedra Escondita. If you have the chance to visit Tulum, make sure you visit this amazing place. Weather it’s for lunch, breakfast or an overnight stay you will be welcomed and well taken care of.
Thank you for having us we can’t wait to come back!
