Situated on the edge of Split’s old town, we found this lovely hotel to be the perfect combination of location and fine accommodations. Unlike some hotels inside the “walls” of the old palace, the Piazza Heritage had an elevator to take heavy bags to the upper floor rooms. The view overlooking the large square was fantastic. In a warm week in Split, we found it wonderful to be able to escape the heat at times to our lovely hotel room, then head back out to enjoy the splendors of the city. The staff was tremendous, including helping us find a great hotel when our flight home was delayed a day and they had no vacancies. Thank you, Piazza Heritage! We’ll recommend you to our friends!

As other reviews have noted, it’s a lovely, historic property and the breakfast was wonderful. My only warning is there is a restaurant behind the hotel that has live music some nights – they played until 11:30PM one night - which is not a reasonable quitting time and it was so loud that I could not sleep even with earplugs. This is the same restaurant that serves breakfast so the hotel does have an arrangement with them and could request that they end earlier.

Stayed at the hotel twice during our time in Croatia and highly recommend the hotel. The staff could not have been more kind and helpful and made our stay stress free. The front desk staff were excellent and helped organize our transfers and more. Thank you again!

The Piazza Heritage Hotel is slap bang in the middle of Split, in the main square, a few steps from the Roman palace, from the sea, and from dozens of restaurants - and ice cream parlours. It is a beautiful building dating from 1906, built in the Viennese Art Nouveau style, and is a UNESCO protected cultural monument.
Our room was well-appointed, with a comfortable bed, lots of light, and a good bathroom with a superb shower. We looked out only over back streets, but the more expensive rooms had balconies and a view of the square.
The hotel dining arrangements are in the next door restaurant, where we had a first class breakfast every morning (their "everything in" omelettes set us up for the day) plus a couple of evening dinners.
The staff were amazing. When we arrived we discovered a problem, of our own making, which could have spoiled the holiday. But the hotel went to enormous trouble to sort it out, far beyond the kind of service a guest might expect.
Split itself is an ancient city, full of interest, with boats to the nearby islands, and a number of excellent beaches, some sandy and some very stony and not too pleasant to walk on barefoot. There are many restaurants, mostly quite expensive. We were a bit frustrated to find that menus were quite similar everywhere, mostly Italian cuisine plus of course the inevitable hamburger, pizza and pasta places. And an annoying characteristic of many of them was their refusal to serve tap water, even when we had already ordered a "proper" drink.
Another small annoyance was that Croatia seems not to have fully come to terms with credit cards. A great many shops and eating establishments were cash only.
However, we had a great holiday, with much sunshine, wandering around, swimming, boat rides, and lots of eating and drinking. Highly recommended.

I think this hotel has one of the prettiest exteriors , inside is also very nice and very clean after recent refurbished. Lovely black and white photographs of spilt add to the decor. The hotel is centrally located and close to all the main attractions of Split, ideal for walking around and exploring the city! When we visited there was a stage set up right in front of the hotel and we managed to see some great classical concerts. A little noisy at night as we were on the front but it didin't disturb us.
The room was lovely, great view over the square, not as big as I expected from the photographs on the website but nicely presented.
All the staff on reception were very helpful and friendly .
Breakfast is around the corner in the small restaurant , nice selection but I found it didn't get refilled very quickly after guests had filled their plates, also missing bowls & cutlery , which we had to keep asking for , a little disappointing for a hotel of this standard and price point.
Split is very pretty , lots to do but a lot of tourists !
However, I would recommend this as a great place to stay and explore Split!

We ended up coming to Split last minute before traveling to Hvar and booked this hotel for two nights and I'm so glad we did! Not only is the location outstanding and the breakfast delicious, but it's the staff that goes above and beyond! I cannot thank Josephine and the rest of the staff enough. The airline lost our suitcase and they took care of calling the lost baggage department at the Split airport. I know now that losing bags is common and the airport and European airlines are indifferent. Once the bag arrived at the airport a day after we landed, the baggage office didn't want to deliver it until the next day, which would be way too late! It was Josephine and the other staff working their connections which got me my suitcase. When we left, a hotel associate took us to the ferry with our bags via their golf cart, which we appreciate it because rolling bags over cobblestones is not fun and it was hot. Those are just two of the examples of their exemplary customer service! We can't wait to return.

We honestly could not have made a better choice in picking this hotel. Its location is right on the main square in Split, just steps away from the major sites. The room was incredibly spacious and comfortable. There are no real amenities at the hotel beyond the room but they were completely unnecessary as anything we might need was just outside the door. And when we did need assistance from the desk staff, they were very nice and helpful.

Spectacular Hotel
My husband and I stayed at the Piazza Heritage Hotel and it was one of the best boutique hotel stays we’ve had in all of our travels. Nika ( hopefully I got the spelling correctly ) who was manning the reception when we came in late at night ensured that our check in was hassle free and in our five night stay she made sure to be very helpful and always pleasant. Vilma, the chef at Kitchen 5 was also exceptional. She makes the best made to order omelets.
The location of the Heritage is right smack in the main square which made it very convenient. It’s less than 5 minutes from all of the major sites to see within Diocletian’s Palace.
We booked a king size studio room and it was very comfortable and was equipped with a dining table, a microwave and a stove. So nice when all we want to do after a tiring day was to just nuke our food and to not bother to dine out. To have almost a full working kitchen was just divine.

Wonderfully quaint hotel in the heart of Old Town Split
Great location, updated rooms, exceptional service. The noise was not an issue despite the room set up. Small but quaint hotel. Not alot if on-site amenities but the plus is everything is in walking distance. Worth the price for the experience.
Overwhelmed by split. Loved the room.

Our room was amazing. The staff could not have been nicer. If you come by car, good luck we pulled over somewhere and called the hotel. The nicest man came and found us and grabbed our bags for us. Warning. There is no driving anywhere near downtown. They take your car and park it offsite. Also there is no pool but the beach is not far away. Split is a very very crowed city. It was a bit overwhelming so we retreated to or room often. Room 203.
