We have been guests at the One and Only Royal Mirage for decades. This year we decided to join a Ramadan Suhour 2025 at the Arabian Court Oriental Garden Majlis, since it wasn’t there last year. And we did a huge mistake! The venue has been completely changed. Needless to say about the service, ambience, interior design, and overall. The staff was totally lost and completely incompetent. Every item in the menu was new to their ears. They had to go back every time to ask for each item in order to explain it to is. We couldn’t order unless they would go and ask. Which of course waisted our time and patience. The food came late. The hot dishes came cold. We were last ones to leave because of the delays. The bill came overcharged 4 times because of the staff’s mistakes. It was the worst experience ever! We weren’t expecting that from Royal Mirage, never! We hope Management of the hotel will take a note of it and do something about it. We still hope this exclusive, wonderful, unique property in Dubai will regain its elegance, exclusivity, uniqueness, and attentiveness!

We have stayed here half a dozen times before but not since Covid...
Some things remain the same but others have changed.
Good or excellent - the wonderful rooms; the whole place oozing luxury without being ostentatious, the tennis and swimming options; the friendly staff.
But there were negatives. We would not book half board again. The Rotisserie restaurant is fine as a base level self service restaurant but you want to explore other on-site options as well. But all the ones we tried had a very basic/limited half board menu (you weren't even allowed to see the a la carte option) which made you feel very second class. And choosing a very modest bottle of wine and a bottle of water set you back £100 each meal. Beach Bar & Grill was the worst where, as a steak restaurant, you could not have a steak on half board without paying extra!
We would still recommend this hotel and would return ourselves - but would explore room only or bed & breakfast options. You can then nip out in a cab and go down to, say, Dubai Marina to eat and not feel ripped off.
Other disturbing thing this time was a small pop up tour operator selling tours located inside the hotel. We enquired, thought it sounded expensive, worked out who the operator was, and booked direct at half the price. Nothing officially to do with the hotel but many guests would not realise that as the person who ran the tour operator would stop guests as they walked past his office and wander round the pool area touting for business. We reported this to the hotel as inappropriate so maybe not happening any more - but be warned!

I had the most incredible experience with Rami getting a cut and colour. I am always a little concerned when I find a new hairdresser but I immediately trusted Rami. He knew exactly what I wanted without my needing to explain and gave the warmest most beautiful blondes I was hoping for. He made me feel so at ease and looked after and was so nice to speak to. He did also a fabulous cut which framed my face and all together it really flattered me and bought out all of my features. The only issue is now I need to come back to Dubai every time I need my hair done!!
Thank you so much Rami and the team you went above and beyond in all ways and I couldn’t be happier. Rami is exceptionally talented and a totally different level to most hairdressers, a hair magician!
Thank you
Victoria

The residence cannot be compared to the Palace or Arabian Court. It’s on a different level! It’s quiet and much more luxurious, rooms have had an upgrade, beautiful creams &whites just so restful. As usual the staff are second to none nothing being too much trouble. The noise from the building works cannot be blamed on the hotel nor can the base of music from across the water. The sunbeds also have much thicker mattresses and there’s certainly no running down ar ridiculous hours to nab a bed either on the beach or around the pool. Best of all, you can eat in any of the restaurants but only guests of the residence can eat there.

The Staff were extremely friendly and the food at this hotel is exceptionally good. As a couple One and Only is a great choice, however with young children it's worth considering other Hotels like Jumeriah Dar Al Masyaf, Jumeriah Al Naseem or Atlantis. During our visit the views were obstructed by construction sites hopefully this will resolve over time. Check in and Check out was an extremely smooth process, rooms are very clean and comfortable.
