Mi Amor Hotel was the perfect place for us to stay in Tulum. Being inside the national park, it allowed us to escape the hustle and bustle of the more touristy area of Tulum and be more secluded in the natural beauty of the coastline. It was also nice to have their sister hotel, Mezzanine, just a super short walk down the road so we could experience the beach and restaurant there as well (also incredible!). The small size of the resort made it feel so quiet and intimate. The views from the rooms and property were beyond compare. Our room was always clean and comfortable and smelled so nice.
The staff went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. Everyone from the front desk (Tania & Natyeri were the two we interacted with the most, both so amazing and helpful!) to housekeeping, maintenance and restaurant staff (Shoutout to Edwin, Aurelio & Herman who were all very kind and attentive servers) remembered us each day, greeted us warmly, helped us with anything we needed (recommendations, directions, hotel info and even loaning us a pair of sunglasses when we realized my husband forgot his!) and were genuinely kind and wonderful to interact with each day.
We booked 'The Perfect Date' package through the hotel and were so happy with that experience as well. The spa treatments were incredible and relaxing (some of the best massages we've had!) and the spa staff were so sweet and fantastic at what they do. When a last minute issue came up and we had to cancel part of the experience, Natyeri went out of her way to help us reschedule it without us even asking (because we knew we had canceled past the deadline and told them we didn't expect any refund or reschedule). I'm so glad we didn't end up missing that experience at the Tulum ruins, because both our driver Leo and our guide Joel were amazing, friendly and we learned so much from both of them about the area and its history. It felt like we got to spend the afternoon just chatting with friends.
When I think back on our time here, I instantly feel happy and relaxed, because that is how we felt during our entire stay thanks to everything Mi Amor Hotel had to offer. 12/10 would recommend and would absolutely stay here again if we were in Tulum.

Stunning boutique hotel with gorgeous design and views! This is a lowkey, couple-centric hotel. We stayed in room 11 on the ground level with a small plunge pool & everything was perfect. The Infiniti pool is lovely and ocean views from the cabanas are stunning and so so relaxing. The staff are phenomenal & the restaurant is delicious. Campeche Shrimp and Oysters for dinner are out of this world! Also loved the fruit bowls (green life and Tulum sunset) and tropical sunrise smoothie for breakfast. Limited beach access at the hotel but it’s just a short walk down to the sandy beach and Mezzanine hotel, which has a great 2-for-1 margarita happy hour. Honestly, I appreciate staying in a quieter zone with limited access—made for a more relaxing experience without people walking by. Will absolutely be back!!

Location: 5/5. Hotel is located inside the National Park, so it’s definitely quieter and more secluded than the dense cluster of hotels in the central hotel zone. We wanted quiet and don’t need access to bars and clubs late at night so this was ideal for us.
Beach: 4/5. Hotel does not have direct beach access, which we knew about in advance. There are large boulders abutting the beach with little cabanas that are a really nice compromise. The closest accessible beach is a 5 minute walk away inside the national park. We did go to that beach for an afternoon and it was spectacular. Super fine powdery white sand, no trash, crystal clear blue water, no rocks, entirely uncrowded in the late afternoon,
Rooms: 4/5. Pool view room on the second floor was very nice. The balcony was very nice and you got a view of the pool and the ocean with a nice breeze. Would have preferred the oceanfront room but it wasn’t available. Only complaints were the room needed some overhead lighting. There seemed to only be mood lighting, which is fine but not great when you’re trying to unpack or find something. Also, there was noise from the road behind the far wall, which we noticed early in the morning. I doubt the ocean view room would have had this issue since it’s significantly further away from the road.
Restaurant: 4/5. Food was really great and high quality, surpassing our expectations. The only possible downside is that the service was slow at times. This could be subjective and maybe others weren’t really in a hurry.
Spa: 5/5. We got a 90 minute relaxing massage and found the service quality very professional and relaxing.

We had an amazing 6-day stay at Mi Amor. I'll give you the scoop as of February 2025.
We stayed in a partial ocean-view plunge pool suite, and I'm telling you, it's the right choice. The ocean view suites have an incredible view (but no plunge pool/hot tub), and the suites near the waterfront didn't have as much privacy because people are walking by to the waterfront cabanas (also amazing). You want the plunge pool and you want some privacy. The plunge pool and patio are perfect for lounging all day. They'll heat your pool to kind of lukewarm bath temp whenever you want, which is really perfect for a 75* night.
We loved our accommodations. Comfortable everything. Customer service was always courteous and basically immediate. I believe the resort only has 17-18 rooms, and they respond quickly to everything--room needs, extra filtered water, service needs, room service, turning on the plunge pool heater...
The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. I didn't realize what it would mean to stay at a resort that's literally IN a federal nature preserve. There is SO much lush greenery everywhere. If you love soaking up tree energy, this area is definitely for you.
You can't get down into the water on the resort's waterfront. It's too rocky. But it's gorgeous and the cabanas are super comfy. And the beach everyone goes to is about a 5-10 minute walk away and it's gorgeous. The resort out in front of that beach is the Mezzanine, and it's connected to Mi Amor, so it's easy to go have dinner or lunch or get a drink there also, and then head down to the beach. You can rent bikes from the hotel 2 minutes away for $350 mx (17 bucks) for the whole day, and just bike everywhere up and down the preserve road. We had such a blast doing it. There's also a free shuttle that will take you all the way up and down the preserve road to other beaches, resorts, the ruins, etc.
Mi Amor's (and Mezzanine's) food was a really unexpected surprise. They were both incredibly delicious. My wife and I weren't expecting that quality of food at all, based on some previous experiences vacationing in Mexico. We loved everything we ordered, and I think we had 4 meals and several room service visits. Their burger and fries were ridiculous. Literally top 5 burger I've ever had anywhere.
You'll need to take a taxi into town to go to any of the really tourist-y spots in Tulum. We went one night and had dinner at Bak. But you can take a bike down to the Ruins, or down the other direction into the edge of town where there's a little shopping, convenience stores, coffee spots, etc.
I can't think of any good critiques of Mi Amor... I guess I wish their little pool by the restaurant was heated? That's all I can think of. This place was terrific. It was the first resort we've been to in Mexico that made us say, "Maybe we should just come here every year now..."

This might be my favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed at. We had the partial sea view room with plunge pool which offered plenty of privacy and the “partial” sea view undersells the lush landscape and sea beyond. The plunge pool was perfect for morning dips and can be heated at night. Food is best in any Mexican resorts I’ve been to. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is gourmet and reasonably priced and the staff including German, Alberto, Aurelio are great. Everyone at the front desk was incredibly helpful as well. Check out their sister hotels Mezzanine, Zebra and Lula which offer free daybeds and great food. 10/10 would love to return.

This is the best hotel in the area. We stayed for a week and would come again. The vibe is chill. I did not feel at all like I was in the "tulum" that people hate on reddit. Instead it was very relaxed, quiet, and beautiful. I recommend this place if you want a quiet, beautiful honeymoon or holiday.
The cabanas are great, usually you can get the one you want. The room coffee is good, the bar makes good americanos also.
We enjoyed chilling by the pool and going in often.
We didn't mind that the beach was not right in front - it made it so the property felt even more private. Besides, the best part of the beach is only a 5 minute walk away.
We had a jungle room with plunge pool. I recommend this as it adds to the experience a lot.
If I had the cash I would have gone for the oceanview on the far south of the property (more private, plunge pool, ocean view) but we were very stoked on our room.
The attention to detail is strong. They clean your room 1-2x a day, fresh sheets, fresh towels, turndown service, and a nice honeymoon gift halfway through (baller cheese plate).
The front desk staff are very kind, welcoming, attentive and do their best to accommodate requests.
The restaurant staff are also funny if you talk to them in Spanish. Aurelio was a standout. They seem a bit overstaffed and a bit bored, but they probably like it that way.
The restaurant food is good for breakfast and lunch, but the dinner menu is kind of awkward, so we never ate there for dinner. We went to Cinco, Casa Maria and Mezzanine instead (Mezzanine 3x, very good). All of the above are good for dinner though.
Our theory was that since Mezzanine and Mi Amor are in the same company, and Mi Amor has clearly the more private and tranquil vibe, they put the better restaurant at Mezzanine. It's kind of nice, because the Mi Amor resto was never that busy, and so hanging by the pool was always relaxing.
One con is the bed - very soft with overmassive pillows. We had upper back pain by the time we left. Definitely all beds should be changed.
I only saw one bug in my whole time there - a tiny cute dead cockroach of some kind in the bathroom. It really wasn't a problem.
We never felt unsafe. The park gives another layer of insulation against the madness of tulum. We actually never went outside of the park the whole 7 days. We just lazed around, ate great food, played in the waves, and relaxed. If that's what you want to do, I recommend this place.

The staff here was awesome, from the front desk to dining to housekeeping. Miriam was who we regularly were acquainted with and she took care of us amazingly. The room was nice, the ocean view is spectacular, and the vibe of place is also very nice!
Beautiful hotel and very accomodating staff. Food was excellent and the hotel had great views with ocean side cabanas. Many beaches near by. Transportation may be needed to get around south Tulum if you desire. The hotel front desk was very helpful scheduling taxis when needed.

We stayed for 5 days in the hotel and had an incredible 10/10 experience. The location itself is very beautiful and feels cozy and private, sea views are breathtaking, especially if you are enjoying them from one of the cabanas by the sea cliff. But what makes this place special is definitely their staff. Our room was always clean and well organized, no matter how messy we left it 😅 small touches like complimentary welcome drink, mezcal bottle in the room and tasty tea served every evening with some chocolate were very thoughtful. In the room we had a couple of beach towels in a beach bag, portable speaker and an umbrella for rainy weather. The staff was extremely friendly and nice, also great at handling incidents (at the park entrance one time the security required us to purchase an extra bracelet for entry, we reached out to the hotel staff and they reimbursed the cost, since we were not notified about it). We also had a romantic 4 course dinner experience in one of the cabanas and it was worth every penny. Special shout out to German who ho served us that night, he is awesome! Food in the restaurant was very delicious both breakfast and dinner. Overall great experience and we would definitely come stay here again when we go back to Tulum. Thank you MiAmor for this beautiful stay.

My partner and I really had a great experience! The food is really tasty and the vibes were very chill. The Team have included plenty of extra little touches, like the daily turn down service with a thermos of warm tea, the free welcome drinks, and the mini speaker to use during your stay.
Mi Amor has a romantic vibe, but would also be a good spot to travel with a bestie.

Beautiful boutique hotel on the ocean with views and vibes to die for.
Great boutique hotel with incredible ocean views and vibes. The food, drinks and service from all the staff was simply outstanding. Stayed at the property for 2 nights with mi amor and would 100 percent go back, and in fact will be going back in January 2026.
A beautiful escape. Very friendly and helpful staff. Private and secluded, but near enough to tulum and akumal for some activities. Plunge pool overrated, a bit dated and light switches inside rooms a bit difficult to locate, but those are only criticisms. I definitely recommend and would return.

The national park makes you feel safe and comfortable to walk around this area, and getting a taxi is very easy to go into town. We visited Tulum from March 5th thru March 12th. We booked lodging at another resort, and I was not happy with our accommodations but was going to stick it out through the week. We decided to have lunch at Mi Amor because it was close to our resort, and I fell in love with the quaint hotel. I loved it so much that we booked our last 2 nights in Tulum at Mi Amor.
1st. The staff are very friendly and are always happy to help. The concierge service was the best concierge service I ever experienced. While we were waiting for our lunch to be prepared, I went to ask the concierge at the front desk if they had any availability and literally from there, the concierge took care of all the rest. They came to our table and requested all the information they needed, and we were all set to check in the next day.
2. Upon check in the concierge gave us a tour of the property and walked us to our room. Inside the room there was an expresso machine (with ground), a small bottle of complimentary mezcal, drinking water, and a refreshment bar with drinks and snacks (small fee). There was even a JBL BT speaker for your use.
3. The smaller detail- cotton balls, Q-tips, great lotion, glasses, sanitized drinking water for brushing your teeth, and nightly turn down service including tea.
During our 2 and half day stay we interacted with all the concierge so a special thank you to all of you ladies that made our stay so pleasant- Miriam, Tania, Nat, and Nahama! The note you left for us celebrating our honeymoon is in our photo album.
