Positives: The hotel had a nice ambiance and we enjoyed the calme. Great restaurant with a great ocean view- some of the best food we had during our 2 weeks in various places in Mexico (the cheese cake is world class). There is also a couple of other good restaurants close to the hotel. The hotel is for relaxation. Not much to do a part from swimming in the ocean or take a dip in the (very) small pool. Small negatives: Suggest that the hotel send some staff members to the beach every day to remove plastic and garbage. Good to see that one of the days the seaweed was removed from the beach. We suggest to add parasols as sun beds with no shadow is too tough for the skin. And why not also add some sun beds and parasols on the beach?

The ocean views are so pretty and the beach area vast but uncrowded .The ocean water was so warm and a blast riding the big waves. We enjoyed our beach walks everyday to the Ruins. Dining was fabulous. Whether it was breakfast , lunch or dinner the food, the presentation .....wonderful. The happy hour drinks tasty. Our absolute favorite was the Tamarindo Tiger!Thank you to the concierge staff for their hospitality during our stay. We look forward to a return trip to the Mezzanine! :/)

We stayed at the Mezzanine for 5 nights, and we couldn’t imagine a better place to have stayed in Tulum! The hotel is separated from other hotels on the strip. For that reason, the strip of beach is nice and quiet, which we loved! The staff were all incredibly attentive and friendly. They were even patient enough to let us practice our Spanish. Jacqueline at the reception was a standout. She was incredibly helpful and always brought a smile to our faces! We look very forward to staying at The Mezzanine when we come back!

We had such an amazing time at Mezzanine! The hotel is small and beautiful. The views are stunning. The food was some of the best I ever had. Avocado tacos for lunch and Pad Thai at night!!! Yum. We had the room with no view. We were very impressed. The room is small but the details are amazing. Here are the things you need to know: They don't have a beach. It is a public beach and no place to sit. However... the view from the hotel is a 10 and you can walk all the way down the beach to the ruins and there are tons of beach clubs along the way OR you can go to Diamonte K in the other direction and go to their beach club. I loved it there too and their restaurant Casa Maria. I would stay there but the rooms are very cabin like and no AC. They have a beach club and beach service. View is beautiful. Go at sunset. The area felt very safe. The hotel is in the preserve and closes at 5 for people who aren't staying in that area. You can walk up and down the road at night with lighted sidewalks, During the day we rented a bike and road the well paved street to the ruins. Takes about 10 minutes from Mezzanine on bike. 30+ walk on the beach. We spent 2 nights here then headed to south beach and stayed at Radoo.

Amazing location. Staff were so pleasant and helpful with all our needs. The rooms were nicely styled. Staying within the park made us feel safe and secure. Also the beach itself was kept so clean every morning there was a team out to remove any weeds.
Disappointing Stay: Noise, Broken Amenities, and Uncomfortable Conditions

This comment was sent to Mezzanine 2 days ago and we didn’t hear back: I’m writing to express my disappointment with several aspects of our recent stay at Mezzanine, which did not meet the standards we have come to expect from SHL properties, particularly considering the night rate we paid. First, I would like to address the noise issues we encountered. Every night, we were disturbed by the noises of the generator, the air conditionning, the back and forth of cars, the restaurant, the music, which made it difficult for us to get a proper night’s rest. The expectation of calm was the main reason why we Choose Mezzanine rather thank a other SHL. The noise continued into the early morning hours (and not only this morning at 7AM), affecting the overall quality of our stay. Additionally, we were disappointed to find that the jacuzzi, a key amenity we were looking forward to, was not functioning properly. Neither the jets nor the lighting were working, which was a letdown given the premium we paid for the room. We also experienced an issue with the bathroom window, which would not close properly. Although a technician came to fix it during our stay, this initial inconvenience was quite frustrating. Let me add to the list: a swimsuit that is now green thanks to the jacuzzi, can not be worn again and will need to be put in the bin. Finally, the water temperature in the shower was inconsistent, with cold water being the norm, making it difficult to enjoy a comfortable shower experience. Given the high price point of the stay and the expectations we have based on previous experiences with SHL hotels, we were very disappointed with the overall experience.

Beautiful hotel on the beach with a friendly and professional staff. We appreciated being in the more quiet national park. The bar and restaurant were also excellent. Our room had an ocean view and private deck. Don’t feed the iguanas! Jk Lol

This very small hotel is on the beach at the southern end of a small national park, Parque Nacional Tulum. The staff are wonderful. The location is very quiet and peaceful. Our second room had a beautiful view of the beach. In front of the hotel, the beach was almost always empty. It felt very private. The outdoor restaurant was lovely. Breakfast was great, as were the drinks. For dinner, the restaurant served Thai food, which was quite good. It is an easy walk to the Tulum ruins to the north, which are also within the park. From what we saw, this is the most private and quiet of the resorts or hotels in the park. We hope to return.

Beautiful location, right next to amazing beach, and in the middle of a natural park. Restaurant at the place is nice, but overpriced. We went by car and they had limited parking but we let them know in advance and worked. I would say the major drawback, ironically -because the park is beautiful- is location. You have to go through a security check which isnt scary at all but takes, depending the time of the day, a long time. We were charged like 80usd to get in the park, which is expensive. They deducted it from our restaurant bill but still. I think I wouldnt visit again just because of the hassle.

Beautiful hotel and extremely friendly and kind staff. Food was good and coffee at our door each morning was a delight. Loved the hammocks, swings, private pool on our deck, and, the restaurant. Had to get adjusted to the Tulum plumbing situation and placing the toilet paper in a basket. Was wondering if it was that area only but had to do it at the airport, too, so it must be all of that area. Definitely something unexpected. All in all, our stay was nice and enjoyable.
