This is our third visit to Meno A Kwena. The zebra migration has arrived early (due to the drought) and so all day long there were herds of zebra coming to drink, kicking up dust and hee-hawing and shrieking. It was the most incredible spectacle, and the lodge gives you the perfect viewpoint of over the herds. Every night we heard lion roaring and jackal calling. The staff were lovely and really looked after us – and Mpaphi was a fantastic guide. It was great to see at first hand the work that Natural Selection are doing with young people from the community with Wild Shots Outreach – they are really uplifting the community and walking the talk. Well done Natural Selection.

A delightful camp perched on a clifftop overlooking waterholes that attract zebra and elephants. The camp also has a hide down on the waterhole for excellent access to the visiting animals and great photo opportunities. We visited at a time when the camp also gave us the opportunity to meet visiting San People. The set up of the different communal tents in the sand, the views from the guest tents, the environment created by the constant fire and remarkable guides, cooks/chefs make this a unique experience.

I really struggled with what to rate this place. It was in a great location with wonderful views and vistas. The rooms were nice although a bit rustic. Each had a deck which overlooked the river. The activities are very limited compared to other camps. They have one safari available...

I really struggled with what to rate this place. It was in a great location with wonderful views and vistas. The rooms were nice although a bit rustic. Each had a deck which overlooked the river. The activities are very limited compared to other camps. They have one safari available which is all day mainly because the camp is a distance from the park. Once there the zebra and elephant sightings are great. So why the mixed review? The service. This was the last of a number of places we had been to in Botswana and the service was just not up to par nor what we had previously experienced. An example: coming into the main area the first morning I asked about getting a coffee and was directed to the instant coffee packets. When I asked if there was anything else, I was directed to a French press, without being shown where the coffee was nor how to make it. Really? That was just an example. Of all the places we had been, this is the one I would not return to.

Meno-A-Kwena was the last of the camps we visited on our amazing trip to Botswana. The location is outstanding, high on a cliff, overlooking the Boteti River. Great food, excellent, personable staff and luxurious tent accommodations. Our tent was beautifully decorated and had both indoor and outdoor baths and showers....

Meno-A-Kwena was the last of the camps we visited on our amazing trip to Botswana. The location is outstanding, high on a cliff, overlooking the Boteti River. Great food, excellent, personable staff and luxurious tent accommodations. Our tent was beautifully decorated and had both indoor and outdoor baths and showers. The public areas consisted of five tents that included a bar area, dining and lounge areas. There was also an outdoor dining area and fire pit. Two of the lounging tents were positioned adjacent to the pool and overlooking the Boteti River. Our two guides TiTi and Kabelo were expert at their jobs and took great care to make sure we had an outstanding experience. One of the memorable experiences was watching the migration of thousands of Zebra and Wildebeast to the River. The guide set up lunch overlooking the river so that we could observe this wonderful sight! We truly loved our stay at Meno-A-Kwena!
