We upgraded to a plunge pool room. It’s like a mini infinity pool. Not just a small tub like pool. The main infinity pool and the lower deck ocean pools are wonderful too. The restaurant is excellent for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can just hideaway your whole stay. However, walking the beach of Playa La Ropa is worth the walk. Walking into town via the malecon should not be missed.
If you want a vacation that you return home completely relaxed please stay here.
We will be back sooner than 5 years!!!!

Our stay at Casa was beyond our expectations. Casa a romantic. elegant, outstanding designed & decorated Resort hotel with very nice accommodations, ambiance, staff, and location. Views from our room of the bay & city were beyond belief one of the main reasons we stayed here.
Having traveled throughout the world Casa is probably our choice of our best experience in any l Hotel or Resort. We had a magnificent room (21)
with pool & outdoor lounge area.
Additionally, the two pool areas were very nice with bay views, and not crowded.
Staff from arrival throughout our stay were also exceptional.
The only negative was the Restaurant food, where a lot of improvement is needed. However, there are several good restaurants nearby, so this wouldn't deter our future stays at Casa.
We are already planning our next stay.

La Casa is truly something special. We spent a few weeks there at the end of January and early February, and we’re already heading back in March. It’s just that good. We’ve stayed here many times, and during this visit, we ran into several familiar faces—other repeat guests who clearly can’t get enough of this place either. There were also some younger couples discovering this hidden gem for the first time.
We keep coming back year after year because of the beauty of La Casa and the incredible staff. The property is stunning, and our room, with its view of the bay and those gorgeous sunsets, was perfect—just like always. But what makes La Casa so special is the people. Many of the same wonderful staff who welcomed us on our very first visit (25 years ago!) were still there to greet us like family.
It all starts with Isabel at the airport, who fills you in on what’s new and exciting at the property. Then there’s Teresa, who greets you with that warm smile and makes you feel like you’ve come “home.” She checked in with us often to make sure everything was just right. Laura was equally wonderful—so kind and helpful, offering tips on where to go (and where to avoid) and even helping us figure out a delivery to the hotel.
The restaurant? Always excellent. The fish dishes were fresh and delicious every time. Pavel ensured we were well cared for at dinner and went out of his way to accommodate our dietary requests. Tony, Jared, and Valentino were friendly and attentive throughout our stay—such a great team.
For breakfast and lunch, Irving was our go-to. He’s amazing—friendly, thoughtful, and full of great recommendations, especially when it came to dinner options and local fish preparations. Eloin, Nicholas, and Fredi, who helped out at breakfast and lunch, were equally wonderful—earnest, friendly, and always happy to help.
La Casa is a truly special place, and the people there make it feel like a second home. We can’t wait to be back.

I would like to thank Laura at reception for being so helpful and kind. We had a problem connecting to an airline's website and completing the transaction to buy our airline tickets. I asked Laura for her help and she spent 30 minutes on the phone with the airline getting it all sorted out. If not for her kind and professional help we would not have been able to get our tickets. Laura is a huge asset to this hotel. Thank you Laura, we appreciate all that you do!

After traveling throughout Mexico and staying at a lot of different hotels... I can easily say that this was one of my favorite experiences at a hotel that I've had. My husband and I visited La Casa Que Canta for my birthday and truly had a wonderfully relaxing time. Everything from the comfort of the room to the kindness of the staff was exceptional. It's an incredibly beautiful hotel which made getting lost and exploring the grounds a lot of fun.
We spent the majority of our time at the hotel but we did venture into the city center and Playa La Ropa multiple times. The walk to Playa La Rosa is especially easy because there is direct access to a path that leads you down to the beach. To get to the city center, you do have to walk along the road for a short amount of time. We enjoyed the walks but there are large hills on the walk back from both, just as a heads up.
We stayed in one of the private pool suites (Mariquita Linda) in the Luna tower and can't recommend it enough. The views and the pool were incredible. Thankfully, the room was also perfectly air conditioned.
Lastly, traveling as a gay couple it's not always easy to predict how welcomed you will be while traveling. However, we were incredibly relieved to discover how warm and welcoming everyone was towards us at not only the hotel but in all of Zihua.
Will return 100%.

What a lovely experience. For us it began months ahead of the trip with the extremely patient & through guidance re: suite types with Adilene in reservations. What a gem! She set the perfect tone for service + kindness even before we arrived.
The arrival was perfect and on point - more kindness from Theresa and Laura - so memorable in the genuine nature of the welcome.
Our chosen suite (Besame Mucho) was ready but again they went above & beyond by patiently showing us other options should we feel more inclined towards another choice (for us - Besamue Mucho was PERFECT). Having seen so many of the suites now, I can honestly write that all of them are special in one way or another and it truly comes down to very personal preferences. Let the team know what those are and you will be beautifully guided towards your perfect suite.
We had a number of spa treatments and all were fantastic and on par with the quality one would expect in a small and luxurious hotel.
The food and dining service was consistently EXCELLENT. The flexibility of the servers and Chef with accommodating our specific tastes was so thoughtful and again absolutely KIND. Nothing was a problem, ever - just incredible.
The fitness center was appreciated and had plenty of equipment that we put to good use, including long elliptical sessions while gazing out at the beautiful Pacific.
We utilized both pools and enjoyed our time at each. What a joy not having to battle for space or loungers, as there are so many area's + hidden niches to set yourself up for the day.
The experience was magical and lovely with the added bonus of genuine kindness from the entire team for every moment of our stay. AMAZING.
The entire experience felt like a big comforting "hug" and we cannot wait to return .
Muchas Gracias Theresa , Laura + team!

We've been to LCQC more than 12 times, and have enjoyed each visit! The rooms are very good and their staff is excellent (especially Teresa).
The views and two pools are probably the best Zihuatanejo has to offer.
The food is excellent; the wine is a little pricey.

All ingredients are so fresh, obviously the fish is brought in every day. Drinks are excellent. Prices are reasonable.
Rooms are nice; all different. The room pools are a bit chilly but nice.
The property is immaculate. The salt water pool terrace is divine.
Theresa the GM is phenomenal.
Only areas of improvement are the welcome. No one to greet you at the door. Not in line with the small luxury hotel label. Welcome drink could be better but you get tequila in your room.
It’s a no tipping policy hotel, inc at the restaurant. They’ll add 10% at the end. But be kind and bring cash with you and tip throughout. They’ll refuse but do insist. They do a phenomenal job and deserve cash tips throughout, especially the servers and all service staff.
The bath products are okay, so bring your own except for their awesome soaps. They have slippers made of yute.
You truly relax here so 4 nights felt short.
Tentaciones restaurant was worth it. Otherwise, you are in the best restaurant in town. And breakfast is served until noon - amazing!!
And area is safe, so nothing to worry about!

Second trip for my wife and I to actually stay at La Casa Que Canta and this time on our 20th Anniversary. We were engaged 21 years ago at Villa Del Sol on La Ropa (Now the Thompson) and married the next year at Las Palmas (now the Condos at Las Palmas) on Playa Blanca. We also spent our 1st Anniversary at what now is the Hilton Grand Vacation spot on La Ropa. The last two visits, last year and this year, were at LCQC and both visits were fantastic.
This year’s stay we splurged for our 20th and stayed in the owners suite at the tippy top of the main building. Glorious views and very private. The only drawback to this particular room is that at times during the day and/or evening it can get really windy on the beautiful outside terrace and of course the stairs. If you are young and spry and want a good workout, this is the room for you. If not…not so much. We were fine with it although it did get a bit tiresome after a long day doing nothing (lol) and marching the 180+ steps from the saltwater pool area at very the bottom of the hotel grounds to our room at the top. 😜😂🤷🏻♂️ Legs are feeling great though after 7 days of continuous stairs exercises. 😁 The room was very comfortable and housekeeping did a great job making sure the room was spotless and prepped and fresh and ready for the day/night. Turn down service was glorious.
The staff were all very friendly, attentive and went out of their way to accommodate whatever we wanted/needed including making a couple of special orders of “Pappas Frittas” (comforts of home lol) and also a “Queso Fundido” that were not on the regular menu. Special shout out to Laura, Semey, Dina, Teresa, Irving, Elion, Augustin for going out their way to make sure we stayed smiling during our stay.
We rarely left the property except for a few trips to walk La Ropa beach down below (which is decent walk as well) and stop at our old engagement spot for some drinks, laughs and fond memories. We had every intention to go exploring a day here or there however La Casa Que Canta is a paradise unto its own and really gives you every reason to NOT leave the property. Food was great, decently priced (we ate and drank like queens and kings lol) and available most of the waking hours into the late evening. This is for sure a spot for couples to relax and enjoy. Quiet, Romantic, Beautiful, Relaxing…La Casa Que Canta is hard to beat for Zihuatanejo. Or anywhere else in the world for that matter.
We are already thinking about our next visit to La Casa Que Canta.

Such a gem of a spot with outstanding people, food, views and options. Don't hesitate to go!! The hotel is perfectly placed on an ocean rock cliff between La Ropa and Madera Beach so you have a very tough choice to make in the morning overlooking this magnificent old fishing village! Or.....take a boat over to turquoise watered Las Gatas! which happens to have a cool surf spot, breaking INSIDE the bay so it looks like the wave is coming from the cliff from the other side of the Bay!!! I surf 4 times a week now living in San Clemente CA so this part is really cool to me anyway. Triconnes (sp) is 40 min a way and is also a great wave. Another reason to go back to Zihua. My wife literally wants to by a condo there now. Oh my gosh ;-o
Shout out to Laura in reception and Nicholas from the Restaurant service....Tony too!
Also, the room service peeps are amazing (there's so many good folks they have there that really do care; HR prolly needs a pat on the back as well for their hiring practices but almost everyone we came across in Zihua was kind and smiling). We would ask for something and it would be there fast! All the rooms have great views so don't worry, be happy!

Twenty years ago we were married and went to Zihuatenejo for our honeymoon. We stayed at a hotel above Playa La Ropa that was clean and a great view but definitely basic since fit within our tight budget at the time. We mentioned we wanted to come back and stay at the Casa Que Canta once we were able to do so. And we did!
At times when revisiting an idea from the past the reality does not quite live up to a memory. However in this case it exceeded expectations! From the beautiful accommodations, artful grounds, wonderful pools, excellent restaurant, and incredibly kind and helpful staff this was one of the best places we have had the privilege of staying at! Highly recommended!

We just returned from our 10th visit to this very special resort which we first visited in 2000. When we left that time, there were 2 things we knew. One was that we would definitely return and the other was it would always be longer than a week.
Beautiful vistas, amazing landscape, magnificent sunrises and sunsets and a clear blue-green Pacific Ocean are hallmarks of this serene place that is served by "family" like folks who are dedicated to making our stay as comfortable and easy as possible.
Each of the 25 suites have their own charm and personality. Some have pools and there are 2 pools on the premises, one bing a salt water pool and the other an infinity pool.
Nearby white sand Playa La Ropa beach is easily accessed within 5 minutes and a perfect place for morning walks and daytime snorkeling, boating and other water sports, all in clam waters. One new feature that is almost finished is a Beach Club that will be an extension of the resort at the beginning of the beach. This will be a real convenience for those who want to stash their belongings while going for a walk or jumping in to the ocean.
They have a daily breakfast/ lunch facility and an al fresco dinner area that have amazing views and feature a wide variety of excellent food choices. We are so satisfied with their dining options and service, we ate all but one meal while being there for 10 nights and 11 days.
Zihuatanejo is not only a quaint old fishing village town, not to be confused with nearby Ixtapa, but it is safe and the airport is an easy 10 minute cab ride.
La Casa Que Canta means The House that Sings. The song is one of magnificence, serenely and beauty.

You know those places and times in your life, you’ll never forget, like yesterday or even 31 years ago. Fast forward to this last week to a place my sweetheart has been wanting to take me to, she’d been to thirty-one years ago, a place called, La Casa Que Canta in Zihuatanejo, Mexico.
As it turns out it's only a : 50-minute flight from our new home in San Miguel de Allende. It has been a nonstop four months since our move from the US and we were in need of some chill time by the ocean, so it was a quick few days Z~wat~away. Well, from the moment we checked in, the views were stunning. I mean you could have as easily been high up in Ez in a Bougainville-laden Villa in the South of France or Positano on the Amalfi coast. But here we were on the Mexican Rivera of the sleepy fishing village of Zihuatanejo. We were to be spoiled by service at every turn, “Buenos Dias, Mr. & Mrs. Woollett is there anything you need?” The room was perfectly appointed, with thoughtfully placed artifacts, saltillo tile and marble perfectly laid and French toiletries were of course provided by Clarins. There was your choice of a saltwater pool nestled in a small cove with Balinese sun beds, where you would watch the gentle swells of the blue Pacific gently crash against the black rocks leaving a brilliant white lace-like foam. Or the turquoise infinity pool handy to the little bar and restaurant, Mar y Cielo. This property is perfectly designed with only twenty-five rooms leaving her guests feeling as if they were in their own private villa. Save to say, the food was sublime, with far too many options to mention here, ultimately leaving you wanting for nothing. Luckily we were able to share an evening with dear friends for one of those magical, memorable dinners under the stars overlooking the Bay and the twinkling lights of the hills above. This is a place you remember, no matter last week or thirty-some years ago, with staff who remember your name and genuinely welcome you home. A place we will certainly return to, sooner as opposed to later. The PG will humbly add to the impressive list of awards that precedes these Five Silver Spoons 🥄🥄🥄🥄🥄 in the way of the many Diamond accolades and the most prestigious of all, the highly coveted, ‘Small Luxury Hotels of the World’ designation. La Casa Que Canta is indeed, the house that sings quietly by the ocean in Zihautnerjo, Mexico.😎

The staff go out of their way to be helpful. Very service oriented! The only thing is that the ocean water pool was closed due to renovations.
I am excited that they are building a beach club, right below the hotel, which will be finished by the end of the year. This will make the hotel even better!
By the way, the food, mostly seafood, but not exclusively, is fantastic!

I'd not been in over 10 years - we were hoping for a quiet warm and relaxing vacation. It was a splurge for sure but so worth every penny. The suite - awesome, very curated with art and lovely touches, privacy, outside space and for 5 nights it was a delight. Housekeeping is amazing. Dining all day and night is excellent. I have to say the daytime menus are so well priced - why even go out? Th pools, always their relaxed but attentive service, the 2 pools and the very chill feel - even though they were sold out - was just what the doctor ordered. Treat yourself, it’s one of my all time favorites!

My husband and I needed a break and booked this trip two days before we left. This hotel did not disappointment. It hasn’t even been a full 24 hours and we were already feeling decompressed and fantastic. The staff are all very kind. Special thanks to Teresa for coordinating the special seafood pozole. There were only two rooms left when I booked and I selected an ocean suite and it was on a high floor with a fantastic view. The room was spacious, AC worked great, large bathroom/shower and a great sitting area. The hotel is very close to playa de ropa which is perfect. It is also close to the main town.
I really cannot recommend this hotel enough.
