For our first trip to Grand Cayman, I made a relatively last-minute booking (about 6 weeks out) through the IHG website and got a room, for my husband and me, that looked exactly like the picture on the website, a king suite with a partial ocean view. The room was about $1800 a night plus taxes and fees, which was less than comparable rooms that were available, when I looked, at the Ritz and Palm Heights. Our booking was for five nights. We stayed 2/18-2/23, 2025. Besides availability and cost, I was swayed to this resort by Reddit posts that bragged about the high quality of the service. In recent years we've been to Aruba and various resorts in Cabo, including Nobu, Grand Velas, and the Waldorf, among others, so any comparisons that I make would be based on that. The room that we had, 307, was a little worn, especially the furniture, which had nicks in the wood and sagging cushions. The light switches were confusing, and the USB plug on one side of the bed didn't work. The air conditioning was set to not go below 68°F, which might not be a problem for some people, but as a menopausal woman, left me uncomfortable in the middle of the night. I like how the bathroom was arranged, with a large separate water closet that had a fan. It was also very nice that you could shut off the bathroom fully from the bedroom with sliding doors. The room also had a very large closet, which was excellent for getting dressed. The small mostly open shower had two heads, a rain shower and a handheld. Someone needs to take a bottle of Clorox Clean-Up to the handheld, because there was black mold on the bottom spouts that made me not want to use it. There was also a bit of black mold between some of the shower tiles, but otherwise the bathroom was quite clean. There was always an ample supply of personal care products available in the room, not only body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion, but also razors, toothbrushes, etc., which was very convenient. Housekeeping came to the room early every morning, before 8 o'clock, which felt a little excessive given that we were on vacation and did not have young children. Then they knocked on the door every 15 minutes unless I got up to press the do not disturb button. They then spent most of the morning hovering outside the door waiting to pounce. One morning I had a stomachache so I came back to the room to use the restroom, and rather than leave, the worker remained in my room, cleaning, which I found kind of uncomfortable. Maybe it was a language or cultural barrier thing, but weird nonetheless. I tried in-room dining twice and it was fine, but not exceptional. The service was relatively quick and the food was close to the quality in the restaurants, at least for breakfast and a snack that I ordered. Food-wise, our very best meal was the chef's table experience at Avecita. Nico was our server/sommelier, and he was outstanding. The chefs were also outstanding, and I'm sad and embarrassed that I don't remember their names, because they are profoundly talented and kind. My very favorite dish was the mushroom course, which could be my favorite thing I've ever eaten. I am not a fan of octopus, and that course was also just delicious. I would highly recommend this special experience to anyone visiting the resort or just this restaurant, because it was worth every penny. Coccolobo, the bar/restaurant by the ocean, was good. The three times we were there we sat at the bar, and the drinks were very good and the bartender service was exceptional. It was also a great place to watch the sunset. I would highly recommend spending time there if you're on Seven Mile Beach, whether or not you stay at the resort. We did not do any excursions, but we did rent a cabana by the pool for a day. That was OK, but I would not do it again. It included a small split of champagne, chips and salsa, and a cooler full of nonalcoholic beverages. Our cabana got very little sun in the afternoon, even in the chairs that were out in the sun, which was a disappointment. I would prefer for the chairs sitting in the sun, to get sun, and the chairs under the cabana to be shaded. Without the rental, on the busiest days, my husband came down no earlier than 7 AM and was able to get pretty much the best chairs by the pool. He would just sit there and drink his coffee and read a magazine in the quiet until I arrived. I felt like the service at the pool was generally lackluster, like the servers there were just not very excited about their jobs. The people who moved things around for you and brought you towels were better than the food/drink servers. I'm sure this is a resort choice, but having stayed at a number of resorts in the Caribbean, all my other experiences included carafes of cold water bought to your seat at the pool as a part of the experience, which would make the situation at this resort much better. I constantly felt dehydrated here, and if you're on vacation, you shouldn't have to worry about that... that should be a part of the service. I had a couple of issues with the pool itself, which again is a resort choice. First, the adult pool is the size of a postage stamp, which is probably fine if it's not super crowded with families in the regular pool, but this week happened to be quite crowded. Secondly, the depth of the adult pool is 5 feet. I'm pretty sure about half of the population visiting the resort is women, and based on a Google search, the average height of the global population of adult women is about 5'3" to 5'4" tall. That means most women in this pool can't even keep their nose above the water. As a human female spending hard earned money for a luxury vacation, not being able to stand in the pool while breathing seems like a pretty big oversight. I had a small pedicure service at the spa, and that was outstanding. Ms. Brown was kind and professional and did a great job, and I would recommend her to anyone. One place where the service specific to this resort did shine was in the valet/baggage area. Employees there were friendly and so helpful. I feel bad that I don't remember any names, but every single person we interacted with down there was fantastic. I can't speak to what the resort is like for families with children, in terms of either quality or value, but there were lots and lots of children and they seemed very busy and for the most part, pretty happy. I would stress though that, from my perspective as a patron, it is definitely a family resort. If you are a part of a couple, with no children along for the trip, I would think twice before booking here. It was not a bad trip, by any means, but there is not much here that is geared for only adults, and for the cost, your money is probably better spent somewhere else, without children, if you can find it. In terms of service, I think most of the best things about this resort can be accessed by anyone, not just people staying at the resort.

Would not stay again. Let's see where to begin... the room was not available until 4:30. We had to consistently check on readiness since front desk never called. Lighting and decor in room looks like a bipolar pop star decorated. Except for the hot pink accent walls ,it is so dark and hard to get ready for a meeting or event and the tiny makeup mirror in the bath does not help. There are no rugs on floor, so make sure and wear the slippers because my feet were black with dirt from the vinyl flooring.. There is not ample closet space for a 4 day stay with 2 adults. There is literally no hanging space for long dresses since the safe was awkwardly put down low on a closet ledge. Why did they cheap out on a tub /shower combo? Just put in a nice shower. Check upon arrival because many of the end rooms have a balcony thet open to a service road and the "highway" very noisy. Obviously very family oriented since there is a pool table in the entry lobby??? Pool and beach very crowded with what seems to be 100's of chairs ( with no cushions) On a positive note, The Library bar and servers are lovely, although the Kimpton needs to up the offerings on Rose and champagne-

Great property by the beach, well staffed and clean! We did have to relive the Seinfeld car reservation episode however. Unfortunately some staff need better training to learn how to keep reservation for clamshell cabana by the beach. We booked months in advance for Valentine’s Day with email confirmation but they gave to someone else!! What is so hard to manage a handful of clamshell cabana?? Amex platform prepaid booking is totally not worth it, over charged and over promised! “Suite” upgrade is a fairy tale not to be sold in the future. Whatever kimpton’s co maketing with Platinum Amex certainly didn’t not deliver this time. Certainly need to catch up with the service at the Riz, Kimpton!

This was a wonderful vacation from Feb 1 - Feb 6. It was so Beautiful. So relaxing. The entire Staff was friendly and helpful and welcoming. We were upgraded to the most beautiful room we ever had. I agree with all the compliments other reviewers wrote, so I won't repeat....

This was a wonderful vacation from Feb 1 - Feb 6. It was so Beautiful. So relaxing. The entire Staff was friendly and helpful and welcoming. We were upgraded to the most beautiful room we ever had. I agree with all the compliments other reviewers wrote, so I won't repeat. But the highlights for me were: The beautiful soft, sandy beach and the warm ocean water with no waves, so I was able to just walk right into the ocean (I don't like waves). No problem ever getting a chair or a blue mat floatie that I laid on for an hour each day in the ocean, gently floating, looking at the beautiful sunny sky. They also had 2 big floats in the water anchored down. 10-12 people could get on a float or stay in the water and hang onto the straps on the side. My husband preferred the pool, so I did spend time there, too, and that was also very nice. We ate at restaurants outside the hotel that were very good, however, my 2 favorite dinners were at the Kimpton Seafire. "Ave", our 1st night was absolutely incredible. The service (I'm sorry I forget the name of our wonderful waiter), and the food and the drinks were wonderful. It was a very special evening celebrating our 50th Anniversary. Oh! And there were fireworks after dinner that were incredible. It was a perfect, romantic evening. Our last night we ate at Avecita. Spanish cuisine from Spain. Again, we had an incredible waiter who made suggestions for us. The Pan con tomate, Berenjena Asada were incredible, as was the fish and dessert. Thanks to Mandy, the concierge who helped me plan our trip, dinners and activities by email 2 months ago. We did go to Stingray City, but mostly we just relaxed with a smile on our faces. We plan to return next year, same time, for a week. Thank you to the entire, exceptional staff.

Wrapping up a week at the Kimpton Seafire, and it’s a top flight place to stay. The rooms, bathrooms, restaurants, pool and beach all first class. The service levels, from the housekeepers to the bell staff to the pool attendants, could not be better. If your taste runs to the modern vs. Ritz-style ornate, the Seafire is highly recommended. That being said, a few caveats: 1. Be prepared for a lot of taxi rides to restaurants unless you rent a car (and enjoy left side driving). 2. There are three separate fees on top of the (high) room rates: The tourist tax, the resort fee, and an additional service fee. Your booking reflects this, but it adds up. 3. The fitness center (which reopened during our stay) is not especially large or well equipped for a hotel of this caliber. 4. A minor point, but the in-room TVs need an upgrade to add streaming or “casting” capability. It’s 2025!

This week was a bit unexpected because the resort is full of families and we expected most kids to be in school but the place was jam packed full of families from New York. We had a great time at the beach and the resort. The service is great and was well above expectations for a Caribbean destination. We rented a few different cabanas for the 4 days we were here and Kelsey from South Africa, and Richard from Kenya were absolutely wonderful and made our entire trip the best. If you come here be sure to find a cabana that allows you to interact with these two and you will have the best time, I can’t imagine our trip being close to the same without them. The diving at Marty’s Wall and aquarium north were great too.

The hotel lobby is modern and comfortable for just hanging, playing billiards or reading a book in the "library" which is also a bar. The rooms are clean and modern with beautiful balcony views. The staff is excellent! A week before our trip Beatha, the concierge called and emailed to discuss dinner reservations, outings etc... From the minute you pull up the bell staff, and front desk attendants are eager to please. When we had a request for a room change the front staff stayed in touch with us by text and phone showing that they really cared for our request and comfort, until our request was fulfilled. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and beautifully displayed and the waiter/waitresses are quick to fill any request and are very friendly. The beach restaurant offers local food specialties and drinks. All prepared to perfection. They are very conscious of food allergies and dietary requirements. In summary the staff are well trained to provide the perfect vacation. They think of everything- from serving complimentary coffee at 6:30 AM in the lobby, to passing out frozen ice pops, frozen grapes and iced tea on the beach. The beach and pool staff have plenty of sun screen, water and even baby "swimmy" pampers. The place is perfect for a a family vacation, a romantic weekend or just a recharge

Sunday brunch at the Kimpton Seafire is a must do. It's hard to describe the wide variety of seafood, chicken, beef, salads, sides and desserts this brunch offers. Brunch includes bottomless champagne and for an additional cost bottomless specialty cocktails. The service could not have been better and the staff is super nice, polite and friendly. Highlights were the conch chowder, seafood spicy spaghetti, salad bar with octopus and the seafood and sushi bar. Overall a wonderful experience (except for the family playing with their children walking on the furniture next to us)....

My wife and I did a 5 day getaway in December and had the absolute best experience with the Kimpton Seafire. Kimone was our concierge and even before we arrived she answered all our questions and was attentive to all our requests. Amazing. The hotel is on a beautiful section of 7 mile beach and is very clean! The resort staff was absolutely amazing; shout out to Jumbo for serving us on the beach and Kesley for making amazing restaurant recommendations. Both were wonderfully attentive. We will certainly be returning in the future, hopefully soon!
