Exceptional vacation here @ Island Vista. We stayed Feb 21 to Mar 01, and had outstanding room, service, and accommodations. From our initial interaction with Pauline at the front desk, she went out of her way to make our vacation memorable and as enjoyable as possible. Cannot thank her enough, worthy of special recognition for going above and beyond for us! Our room overlooking the beach was spectacular, the grounds were clean and safe, and the beach was just incredible. We will return to Island Vista, it was a great experience and compared very favorably to the other resorts we've utilized. A+, thank you!

I really want to give a huge thank you to Island Vista for the kindness they extended us. We were really looking forward to our stay at Island Vista. Unfortunately, the day before we were to check in, I got sick and was hospitalized in Hilton Head. I usually purchase travel insurance, but we planned this so last minute, I was thinking cancellation not illness! Well, I emailed Island Vista my sad story and they refunded our deposit and didn’t charge us. I will tell everyone I know how kind they were!

Overall we had a nice stay. There were a few minor shortcomings (i.e., not great lighting in the bedroom; tub/shower that had a slight tilt) but nothing that detracted from our vacation. My only real complaint is that the pillows were not that comfortable (in PH9); a few were lumpy...

Overall we had a nice stay. There were a few minor shortcomings (i.e., not great lighting in the bedroom; tub/shower that had a slight tilt) but nothing that detracted from our vacation. My only real complaint is that the pillows were not that comfortable (in PH9); a few were lumpy and all were about half the size of an average pillow. We've been here before this is the first time we had bad pillows so maybe it's just the suite we were in. Aside from this, everything was fine. Restaurant and bar are very nice too. Having an entertainer at dinnertime was a nice touch. Food notes: At the bar, the Tortillas with Salsa and Fried Oysters were very good! The Caprese (mozzarella and tomatoes with balsamic) however, was bland - no seasoning and the balsamic wasn't the right kind; also the mozzarella balls seemed dried out. Don't know if it's normally so bad but it was the other night. At the restaurant, the Stuffed Pork Chops and Chicken Francese were delicious. So were the roasted carrots and brussel sprouts. My husband also liked his Calamari appetizer. People: Most of the staff, especially Steve, the Manager, were very nice. I won't say anything negative about anyone in particular but one or two employees should remember they are in the hospitality business, and wouldn't have a job there if it wasn't for the guests. All in all we enjoyed our short time at the Island Vista and will definitely come again.

This was our second time staying at the Island Vista Oceanfront Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC. We were traveling with a group from Dunlap Travel. We found our room very well appointed with beautiful views of the ocean with breathtaking sunrises. The Housekeeping Staff did an excellent job making sure we had clean towels each day. What a pleasure to return to the room and have the beds made and everything tidy. Pauline, at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we requested. The service and food in the restaurant was outstanding. Anthony, our server, was a pleasure. He was very efficient and had a witty personality (which we enjoyed). Oh! and the Christmas decorations were so beautiful. Look forward to our next stay.

I always read the reviews before checking things out. A few years ago we had a terrible incident at another hotel so we were trying to find a very good place to stay. The one thing I see a lot of in MB is that a lot of hotels the rooms are privately owned, so it is a gamble on what your room would look like. Everything looks so wonderful here. I will say it does look a little outdated and not as crisp as a lot of places are leaning for these days. The beds are comfy. The furniture is okay. The kitchen is small, but it gives you that home away from home feel. I would live here. That's how satisfied I am of this place. It's clean. It's functional. It's perfect. 🖤

This is my go to spot whenever I feel the need to escape the hustle and bustle of day to day life. My husband and I have been coming here off and on for over 10 years. My place of peace, relaxation, inspiration, and restoration. It’s where I finished my dissertation, grieve for my parents, shopped, experienced new restaurants, and enjoyed the sweet potato pancakes for breakfast. Staff is professional and friendly.
