We stayed Monday 2/24-Friday 2/28 in a king balcony room facing Dauphine Street. The hotel has a great location on the corner of Toulouse and Dauphine: close to Bourbon Street and other French Quarter attractions but just far enough away from the mayhem for a quiet reprieve. The room was a good size, comfortable bed and the balcony was a nice spot to relax, although the floor paint is peeling. My only suggestion for the room would be to replace the area rug- it's a bit worn and faded. Otherwise, it was very good with a fridge and good- sized bathroom.
Everyone there was in a great mood, it's Mardi Gras in New Orleans! The staff and other guests were all very friendly, I got beads from one set of guests when they were checking out and paid if forward by gifting our beads to another guest when we left. We ate at both the cafe and the hotel bar a few times. The coffee in the cafe was good, and my husband enjoyed his breakfast sandwiches. I got a fresh fruit as well as an almond croissant- very decadent and buttery- and a scone another time. but if you want beignets you'll need to go someplace else. We also grabbed a quick lunch from there once. I got a salad with chicken salad and it was huge- the chicken salad was loaded and even had hard boiled eggs- it must be a southern thing, they seem to like to add eggs to salads. We had a great time at the bar- chatting with the bartenders and locals and enjoying happy hour and beyond. I would stay there again.

How does one express AMAZING without sounding typical. From the minute you walk in the door you are home. The hospitality the southern charm from each and every person. Housekeeping everyday the liked the room stocked up. Surprising to us. The bar and the cafe in the lobby was quick reasonable prices and convenient. Food was really good. Small coffee bar with a fridge and a kuroeg coffee maker. We went to the store to get cream and milk they offer powder creamer. We had them book us a car back to the airport really early and it was on time. I will be back and I recommend this to everyone. It was 1 block from Bourbon st and everything was with in a 10 min walk.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at hotel St Marie. The location is great. Although you are just off Bourbon Street you are not affected by the noise. We had a street facing balcony room which was lovely. Very spacious and comfortable. Beds very comfy too. Fridge and safe in room are also really useful. The staff at the hotel are really friendly and warm. Courtyard and pool really pretty. Cafe on site opens at 7am which is great for a breakfast coffee and lovely warm blueberry muffin. Bar also serves lovely food and is very friendly.
The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is because there was very little wardrobe storage and only a few hangers. Also the curtains in our room were hanging off the rails or attached to the rail with safety pins which looked scruffy and also made them difficult to open and close. Seems a shame as is something that could be fixed relatively easily and cheaply and would make such a difference,
Having said that, neither of these things would prevent us from staying here again! Thank you Hotel St Marie!

This was our second stay, having been here during Mardi Gras in 2023. The rooms are large with comfortable, clean bedding. As a plus, unlike in many hotels, the structure of the rooms provide quiet. Noise from the outside and hallways is minimal even if you have a room facing the street. The shower had plenty of hot water with great shower head pressure.
On this trip, we were here during the record NOLA snowfall. We had to endure 6 flight cancellations and ending up “stranded” an extra 4 nights. Stress can bring out the best or worst in people. Many of the hotel workers were stranded as well or were struggling to get back and forth from work to home. Despite the tough weather conditions and super long shifts, the entire staff was always cheerful, welcoming and helpful. Keisha, a front desk manager, really impressed us. She always greeted us with a smile and we never felt we were imposing. She has a real gift for customer service. But, more than that, we saw staff interacting daily with her and with each other. The respect and friendliness they show to guests is also evident in their interactions with each other. The restaurant and coffee bar are very good.
We will be back!

We visited for 6 days for our 50th Anniversary. Had a great experience at this boutique hotel. Loved our covered wrought iron balcony. Half block off Bourbon. We're in our mid 70s but we're able to walk to all the sites, Jackson Square, French Market, Lafittes Blacksmith Shop and dinners at Court of Two Sisters, Antoines, Sunday brunch at Brennans. Had to cab it to Commanders Palace and the World War II Museum. Really enjoyed Hotel Saint Marie. Attractions were closer than expected and staff were friendly. Went the extra mile to put a freezer pack in the staff refrigerator so that we could keep my husband's insulin cold on the flight home.

The location is excellent. 1/2 block from Bourbon St and close to everywhere you want to be within walking distance . We arrived the day of the terrorist incident so we couldn’t access the hotel when we arrived around noon due to the barricades which was disappointing but understandable. They offered us a sister property to store our luggage while we await access. This was obviously very helpful considering the situation.
Once we finally gained access it was especially quaint exactly what you would expect for New Orleans. There was a beautiful courtyard which was also the room we requested and grateful for it. Although the hotel is close to the action the courtyard serves as a great barrier to the noise which I also chose as our room and was given at check in.
The room itself is spacious considering it’s in the French Quarter and comes with cramped space to be expected. The bed is not the worst but also not the greatest so take that for what it’s worth. The toilet being in with shower does not lend to privacy. It would be nice to also have a “do not disturb “ sign for the room. We noticed this did not exist for any of the rooms and it may have been a protocol put into place due to the incident we arrived to which is completely reasonable however we typically don’t ask for turn down service or any service during our vacation to save the staff on resources.
We were celebrating my hubs bday and the bellhop surprised us with a bottle of Champagne which we enjoyed on our private balcony.
The pool although refreshing looking, is not heated. However the courtyard was very quaint.
We did not dine at the attached restaurant or bar due to capacity and wait times. Can only assume from staff suggestions and the crowds it was good.

We had a warm welcome party waiting for us, a lovely balcony from our room, and used the café and bar on the ground floor. Some decor was a bit tired, which is the only reason this wasn't a 5 star review. We'd definitely stay again.

Great location, fantastic staff, cute little dining and bar. My husband and I spent a short two night stay here and we enjoyed every minute of it. The room (two queen balcony street view) was roomy and pleasant. Although the bathroom was small, the little hallway closet and bar area was perfect for our needs. The bed was comfy and the view out the balcony was spectacular (4th floor one block from Bourbon street). This was our second visit to this hotel and it will not be our last.

We absolutely loved the Hotel St. Marie. As a first time visit to New Orleans we wanted something French Quarter with character. We emailed with a couple questions and they were very quick to reply. The location is superb, less than a block up from Bourbon Street (we quickly learned - we are too old for the nightime version, it is loud). Our room was second floor facing the courtyard for a little more quiet at night. It was spacious with basic amenities and the beds were really comfortable. We enjoyed going to the courtyard for an after-supper cigar and glass of port. A couple more pounds (or beignets) and I may not have fit out that patio door. The restaurant on site was fantastic as well as the cafe for breakfast. If you walk out the cafe and across the street there is a little convenience store to stock up on some beverages and snacks. The best part of the Hotel St. Marie is the staff - so friendly and simply top notch - the same goes for the staff at onsite restaurant, like the rest of New Orleans - everyone just seemed so genuinely friendly.

Great little surprise. The service was like a 5 star hotel. The courtyard was private and beautiful yet hotel is right next to Bourbon Street action. They gave me a tour of the hotel right after I registered at the desk. Rooms are small but quaint and well decorated

Last year we stayed here for five nights on our honeymoon and this year we’re back for a one-night stay during a three-week road trip! We thought about trying out a different hotel, but we are so glad that we stuck with this one.
In my previous review I have already mentioned all the positives which have remained the same: friendly staff; spacious, clean and comfortable rooms; lovely balcony; perfection location.
This year we made sure we that tried out the well-maintained hotel pool, it was a great way to end our evening in New Orleans!
Thank you again Hotel St Marie for making our stay a pleasant one!

Do NOT stay in a street side room. We were here Friday though Sunday. The noise from the street was awful at night. It's not from Bourbon Street. It's the cars going past playing music. Incredibly loud until early morning. Sunday was a little better. We brought it to the attention of the front desk, who acknowledged the issue, but offered no reprieve.
