Hotel Renew has been our "Go To" Hotel since 2011.
We always book a night or two at Hotel Renew when we travel between our Molokai home and the mainland.
This time, Mokulele Airlines cancelled all flights to Molokai on short notice.
The whole Hotel Renew Team, Lance, Jazeri, Eddie, Erica, Join, Pia and Laurence went above and beyond to find rooms for us at the hotel for our unscheduled extended stay.
An aura of Aloha and Pono permeates the hotel property as soon as one walks through the door.
The location is great, everything is within easy walking distance.
Beach gear is available at no extra charge. The beds are comfortable, the linen crisp and I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Renew to anyone visiting Hawaii in general and Waikiki in particular.

Very glad we changed our reservations from a large hotel to Hotel Renew. We were greeted at the door by friendly staff. Easy check-in. Room was simple and clean with a great view of the blue ocean. Bed and pillows provided a good night sleep. Each time we asked for tips on area they were spot on with suggestions. Short walk to beach and great they provided chairs and towels and cold water. We appreciated the small hotel feel and the care they took to property and guests. Would be glad to stay here again.

This hotel is a hidden gem amidst the giant towers of Waikiki. It's an older hotel that has been redone, a block from the beach, shops and restaurants. The staff was incredible friendly and very helpful. We heartily recommend this hotel for your stay in Honolulu.
A must stay for a quiet, wonderful service, clean hotel and comfy beds!

I recently stayed at Hotel Renew in Waikiki and had a wonderful experience. This boutique hotel is just a block from the beach, making it a perfect location for anyone looking to enjoy the sun and surf. The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable, with cozy beds and great amenities like a Keurig coffee maker and a mini-fridge. While the rooms are on the smaller side, they are well-designed, and some offer ocean views.

The location is fantastic, the room was comfortable, and the staff was wonderful. The hotel provides lots of beach gear, but note that there is no pool or restaurant at this property. But restaurants and the beach are right outside the door! We’d be happy to return.

Our stay at Hotel Renew in Waikiki was fantastic from start to finish! The hotel is beautifully maintained, the rooms are spotless, and the location is perfect for exploring the area. What really made our experience stand out, though, was the exceptional service – especially from Anne at the front desk. She greeted us with genuine warmth, offered great local tips, and made us feel so welcome. Thank you, Anne, for being so wonderful! We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Waikiki.

The absolute service and friendlies staff I have encountered! I have travel for 60+ years and never had such GREAT SERVICE! Mary and the rest of the staff are THE BEST!!!
The staff ran to the door each time you were arriving or departing to hold the door open for you. They would also carry any and all your packages you had. Each time you saw one of them they would speak to you and call you by name. I received a call every morning and evening to ask if there was anything I wanted or needed. They were so friendly.
The accommodations were spotless and very up to date. Each morning there was hot fresh coffee and cold water available all day. They also provided beach towels; beach chairs and other things needed for a day at the beach. Less that 75 yards from the front steps of Hotel Renew to the clear waters of Waikiki Beach. There plenty of food choices from food trucks, mom and pop restaurants to 5-star restaurants with in a 3-minute walk of the front door.
Mary and the rest of the staff made our stay phenomenal and our honeymoon the greatest!!
I will be going back!!!

No coffee machine in room anymore. Bath tub was dirty. No valet parking available it was full. No fitted bed sheet had to request it. Bed sheets had black stains, mold, and burnt hole on them. Beach towels had mold on them. On second day of stay the body wash bottle was empty and never was refilled after housekeeping cleaned the room. The bath tub also had stains. Mentioned the issue to staff and they only waived the first night of resort fee. Not a good value for what you get. Hotel had a great location and I’ve stayed here few times but it seems like it’s a totally different hotel now and I won’t select this hotel anymore.

I recently stayed at this hotel. My boyfriend and I booked a room at a hostel but he mixed up the dates and didn’t have a place to stay for the night. We were lucky enough to get a room here. I believe her name was Vimoa that helped us during this stressful night. She was the front desk agent that made our reservation and was so welcoming- to go above and beyond to check if a room was ready for us to check in. The next day the front desk also helped us to make sure we had a place to stay before we checked into our hostel. It was also so affordable even though it was a last minute booking. Thank you! We will stay again soon!

Where do I even start? The bed mattress moves up and down because it rests on a slippery wooden surface, so you have to push it back in place a bunch of times a day, which is super annoying.
The bathroom was dirty, and dust was everywhere, especially in the air conditioning unit where we were sleeping and breathing it in for two whole days before we even noticed it. When they finally cleaned it, it was because someone had to check the unit because the air conditioning was blowing warm air.
There is no microwave in the room, and no coffee machine unless you asked for one. The only microwave is in the lobby, and you can’t even use it yourself; you have to get the staff to heat up things for you.
The housekeeping staff cleaned vert little. I had scheduled a full cleaning, but when the housekeeper came, she only did my bed. She didn’t vacuum or clean the restroom. I was so fed up that I decided to clean the toilet and sink myself.
To make matters worse, you had to reset your key card ALL THE TIME, even if you kept it away from other cards because the magnetic strip would mess it up.
The elevator was disgusting, full of dog urine. The towels and bed sheet were moldy. The room had a smart TV, but you couldn’t use any of the smart features.
We were also put in a room that led to the valet parking side, so we could hear all the cars coming up and down or any alarms. My car NEVER had roaches, and after staying here, I saw like 2 and one day when they gave us our car when we were heading out, we noticed it smelled like fast food! Valet staff definitely eat in your cars.
Im missing a necklace! it better be inside a suitcase or something cause that would be the cherry on top of the cake. Let’s see what else I’m missing when we unpack.
They need extra staff, especially housekeeping, because it was always the same woman, and she always said she was super busy, which makes sense why rooms were never cleaned properly. Poor woman was so tired.
I’m not usually one to write reviews, but I believe there are several areas where this hotel could improve, especially considering the price they charge for their accommodations.
On a positive note, most staff members were friendly and tried their best with the resources they had.
