Lovely hotel. Friendly and courteous staff. For the most part we enjoyed our stay very much. Unfortunately the first day the neglected to clean our room. As it was mid afternoon. When we returned the first full day and discovered it we went down to the front desk and asked if our room could be recreshed with at least fresh towels. They assured us it would’ve no problem but when we got back later that eve I g the room had been untouched.
The second day, they missed our room again! Again we reported it to the front desk. They said, someone would be right up. No one came.
The third day they came and our room was refreshed beautifully. For our last night.
A little disappointing.
We most likely would not stay here again, But it isa lovely boutique hotel.

Great location, fun decorating style, boutique hotel. Nice bar, fireplace area. Great coffee shop not related to hotel, but in same building. We were not happy with $75.00 per night parking fee however. That seems very steep on top of the nightly rate. Everything is "small" in this hotel including the elevator, but it is well appointed, good linens, clean and trendy feeling. Great location. Will stay here again but might try to park in another public parking garage for half the price.

My wife and I stayed here two nights while on a two week road trip of the west coast. I'll start by saying San Francisco is one of the most expensive places in the country and compared to other hotels in the area, this was a great value. However, it wasn't quite 5 stars as it was missing a few things that could have made it so. I'll list the key points:
Temp control in room did not work. Could not get temp below 70 degrees at any time during stay
No room fridge
Very cool decor
Spacious and clean room
$75 per night valet charge
No vent in bathroom but a window can be opened
No food available but there is a bar
Good shower pressure
Each side of bed had nightstand with AC and USB charging ports
Staff was friendly and tried to be helpful but they were not very knowledgeable
Payment system wasn't working properly at check out
Excellent location - we were able to walk everywhere including to the Pier 39 area.
Close to trolley line and Chinatown
I really liked this hotel but felt there were a few small details that were the difference between 5 stars and 4 stars. Nonetheless, I highly recommend it.

Room could have done its another lamp or two as we found it a bit dark.

Perfect location close to many restaurants. If we ever come back to San Francisco we will definitely stay again.

This is a very nice hotel, with a great situation near Union Square and the cable cars on Powell street, and quite close to Market street. The rooms are a good size and nicely furnished, equipped with coffee machine and a safe.
The hotel has an arrangement where you can borrow all kinds of extra furnishings; for example, the room did not have a refrigerator, but they brought one to our room when we asked for it.
There is a very nice cafe attached to the hotel where they make very nice breakfast sandwiches and great coffee.
We had a real problem when we arrived at the hotel: We had prepaid the room through an online booking service - but the service had cancelled our reservation without telling us and without refunding us. The hotel could not do anything to recover the money we had lost, but they were very helpful and did all they could to support us - and fortunately we could get a room there to an absolutely reasonable price even without a reservation.
Just for info, we have now reported the booking service to the police for fraud.

Fabulous hotel with a real sense of personality
Fabulous hotel with wonderful staff who will do anything to make sure you have a memorable stay. This isn’t a faceless corporate hotel, but one with an individual personality it celebrates. Delicious restaurants nearby, felt very safe to us (couple) to walk back in the evening. Nearby to pick up cable car and waymo was super run to try out also. Impeccably clean!

We stayed here for the first leg of our honeymoon trip along the West Coast of the USA. Overall, the hotel was modern, clean, and very comfortable. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, and we especially loved the coffee from the café attached to the hotel — it was some of the best we had on our trip!
That said, there are two reasons why I’m giving this hotel 4 stars instead of 5. First, although the pastries and coffee at the café were excellent, the oven was out of order for our entire stay. This meant we couldn’t get any hot breakfast items and had to find alternatives each morning — a bit inconvenient. Second, the billing process could have been more transparent. At check-in, we were told about a $120 "resort fee" which we paid, only to be asked for the same amount again at check-out. It turned out the initial $120 was actually a security deposit, but this wasn’t explained clearly at the time. We only understood what had happened after contacting our travel provider.
With a bit more clarity on fees and better communication, our experience could have been perfect. Still, we really enjoyed our stay and would consider returning!
