Checked in for 2 nights as walk-ins. The hotel is one of the first hotels you will see when you drive into town. On-site parking and easy walk to downtown and train station. First impression is of a lovely space, even though the decor is a bit odd, with a mix or old and new. The hotel staff was very young and maybe very new (?)....took over 1/2 hour to check us in and then messed up our keys cards the next day (another 20 minutes to resolve which made us miss our train - we took the next one).
The rooms are very clean - albeit weirdly decorated - meaning the interior is not in harmony with the classic exterior. Odd pops of reds and Ikea like furniture. The mini fridge has complementary items and a carafe for fresh tap water.
The lobby offers apples and dessert throughout the day which is a nice touch.
We opted out of the breakfast due to the high cost.
Overall a good stay but the desk staff even though they were nice was not too knowledgeable about the area and got conflicting answer about trains and restaurants.

We had an absolutely outstanding stay here in early-mid December. Grindelwald was our first stop after arriving in Zurich on a flight from the US. When we arrived around noon our room wasn’t ready, but the hotel staff were kind to store our luggage and help us decide on an activity (going up to Grindelwald First) to kill some time until it was. A few weeks before our stay I had reached out to the hotel to arrange for a pick-up at the train station, which was complimentary, and very much appreciated. The hotel is super close to the train station when you’re walking (a slightly different way than when arriving by car) but with our big suitcases it was very nice to have the pick-up. By the time we got back to the hotel after our first outing, around 3:00, the room was ready. We booked an executive double with an Eiger view and wow - it was perfect! We were on the top floor (always my preference) and had a wrap-around balcony on the corner with windows on two sides looking over the Eiger, the lower town, and the Top of the Jungfrau cable car. The view was just incredible. I loved that being on the top floor gave us vaulted ceilings. The room itself was very large, plenty of closet space, a huge bathroom with bathtub, separate shower, WC, heated floors, and a vanity with soooooo much room to put our things. The hairdryer worked great (such an added plus). The bed was super comfortable. There was also a loveseat, chair, and coffee table and a desk area.
The hotel itself has wonderful amenities. We enjoyed the expansive breakfast every morning and were seated each day by the window, with that same stunning view of the Eiger. The restaurant staff were attentive and helpful. You must check out the butter machine! Mind blowing. We also enjoyed wine from the bar on a few evenings, including complimentary glasses on our first night, and it was lovely sitting in the lounge area. We spent time in the pool and spa area, as well, enjoying that amazing outdoor hot tub and the lovely sauna (sort of done up like a wooden hut - great atmosphere).
We were very pleased with the hotel location. As mentioned, it’s close to the train station. It’s a few minutes walk to the other side of town where there are more restaurants and shops, but it’s only 5-10 minutes (small town) and we enjoyed the walk. I think Grindelwald is an ideal location from which to explore the entire Jungfrau region.
We were sad to leave after three nights, but thankful again for the complimentary transfer back to the train station in the hotel’s Bentley vehicle. Again, the staff was exceptionally kind and helpful throughout our stay, including the drivers. I would not hesitate to return to the Hotel Belvedere and hope to have the opportunity to some time!

Wifely full service hotel
Wonderful hotel in Grindelwald. Excellent service and accommodations. Room and bath were large and had lots of storage. Very helpful staff. Ordered room service first night. Excellent hamburger. Great balcony for star gazing. Highly recommend.
Beautifull hotel, outstanding views, location is great and staff very friendly. Hotel is very clean. Breackfast was ok. We really enjoyed the indoor pool and the jacuzzi. The only issue was that at the time of our stay there was no wifi connection at the hotel due to renovating, .
Good hotel but customer service can be improved.
We book one of the double deluxe room this Oct. The room it self is nice, but the customer service is lacking. We asked for train pickup during our arrival. But there is no car. Other hotel's customers are getting their rides, but we are left there without any ride....

Other hotel's customers are getting their rides, but we are left there without any ride. We manage to reach the front desk, the agent there claimed that the car has been waiting there. Give us a half apology and that's all.

It's a great location to walk through town or to 15 minute walk to the funicular. The food in the restaurant was top notch! We ate breakfast and dinner there both nights and thoroughly enjoyed it plus there was musical entertainment during the meal that was very good. I would stay here again. Highly recommend.

First time in Grindelwald and the Hotel Belvedere was very good. Only reason for not excellent was there was no door service to get luggage or help. I'm thinking that is now the norm in Europe and maybe elsewhere, but I do miss that service as I'm a senior now. They did have luggage service to the room. :) Anyway other than that, everything was on point, from the welcoming drink to the afternoon events on most days. (wine tasting) Room was spacious (we had a suite). Bathroom very nice with bathtub and separate shower. We did eat at the restaurant both nights which were very good. The breakfast bar was one of the better ones we've experienced while traveling in Europe. Overall - great hotel and would recommend.

The best hotel we stayed at for our trip! The hotel has a great view of the mountains and valley below, especially on the patio-quintessential Switzerland. It is located in an excellent area close to all things Grindelwald. Our travel day to Switzerland was very long and tiring, compiled with delays and problems. We were completely exhausted and sweaty and just wanted to cool off, eat and take a shower. When we were almost to our train stop, I called the hotel to be sure our room was ready and temperature was cool. They were so nice and friendly and made sure everything was ready for us. When we checked in they provided a recommendation for a good restaurant for a quick eat as we did not want to eat at the hotel restaurant that night. This was an anniversary trip and our room had some sweet treats and a heart shape out of rose petals on the bed and a personal note. Every staff we interacted with was so friendly and helpful, no matter how many questions we asked. Breakfast was very good with a nice variety of foods. They had gluten free toast for me when I asked. By the 3rd morning, they recognized me and immediately asked if I wanted my toast that day. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. While many hotels have small rooms and bathrooms, this one was not. I appreciated the fresh water and apples at the front desk every day. They also had free cake treat in the lobby every day (although not Gluten Free but my husband said it was good). One evening we returned from a full day of activities and wanted to sit out on the patio. They had a free wine tasting happening and a very sweet and talented gentleman playing the accordion for our entertainment. Our stay here was fabulous and would definitely recommend it.

The setting for this hotel ever looking the value was beautiful. Breakfast was delicious - staff was friendly and helpful - and gave us great recommendations for hiking trails - room was clean and comfortable with a magnificent view. Their “fondue gondola” was fun and very creative.

They also added kind touches pre-stamped postcards, a parting Swiss chocolate bar, and complimentary drinks in your fridge.

We didn’t make it to the Belvedere as we had to cancel due to an inner ear problem that made it impossible for my wife to fly. As it was after the time where free cancellation is allowed, l said that l appreciated that we would have to pay for the accommodation. Within 24 hours, l had a reply which said that at the time of booking there were different cancellation regulations, so we wouldn’t need to pay anything, a quite remarkable example of honesty. I only hope we are both fit enough, we are not young, to go to the Belvedere next summer.

The spa really makes this place special, not just an Instagram photo spot with the outside hot tub but a genuinely relaxing environment with a gorgeous big swimming pool, indoor hot tub, sauna, and showers. A lovely relaxing afternoon spent here. We also had fondue in the gondola on the balcony one night which was ‘cheesy’ but a good experience.

Yet another wonderful stay at the welcoming Belvedere Hotel. As always. everything was perfect and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We've stayed here for 6 or more times and each time many of the staff greet us as friends. We had a ClassIc Eiger View room with a magnificent mountain vista. The hotel facilities are excellent with a beautiful lounge and a sun terrace which is even nice in winter. After a day on the mountain, it's lovely to relax beneath the stars in the hot tub.
We highly recommend the Belvedere and will return.
