Reviews of Homewood Suites
Great location! The staff was very friendly and helpful! The pool and Rooftop Bar are very nice. The breakfast had a lot of options. The concierge was very knowledgeable. The reason for the low review is parking. The only option is valet parking at $42 a day. Too expensive.

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at Homewood Suites. The river view suite was spacious and clean. The water pressure was awesome! A/C cooled the suite perfectly and worked very well: to 68 degrees at night! The fan over the bed was great. Breakfast was very appetizing and offered a variety. The 4 staff members keeping up with breakfast everyday do an awesome job: diligent, helpful, friendly, and out to please their customers. The Wednesday social saved us a dinner price for two; very nice addition. We had gumbo, salad, bread sticks, cheese & crackers, wine ... so very nice. TJ at the front desk went out of his way to help us during our stay. Thank you! The valet parking needs improvement, but Hilton already knows that. We were one of 8 cars sitting in line in the street waiting to enter the driveway, just to get our car valet-parked. (Parking is valet only for $50 a night.) There were already four cars inside the circular entrance. Two of them were left abandoned as guests signed in and went to their rooms to unload. HELLO!! For 30 minutes nothing moved due to the plugged-up cars. The valets are pretty helpless when drivers just leave their cars sitting idle. When they do take your vehicle, the valet must travel across the HIlton property, cross the street, enter the parking garage and run to the third or fourth floor. It is not instantaneous! The parking garage has just opened (Hilton called it "ours"), so we asked the attendant there the price for overnight parking (without the HIlton valet) and we were told $60 per night. I would much rather self-park, take care of my own vehicle and have my hotel bill inclusive to cover it all. The parking price is ridiculous.

Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Tashell Yarlin, Steve Spring. Visiting Savannah Georgia with my wife and it was helpful to start the day with access to an easy breakfast prior to walking around the downtown and river area. It would have been inconvenient to find a got spot nearby.
Can't beat the location. If you can get a river view. It's fun to see the boats go by. Lots of restaurants in walking distance but make reservations when you can. The hotel itself is great with friendly staff. Breakfast buffet staff was particularly helpful and so cheerful, especially Spring!...

The hotel itself is great with friendly staff. Breakfast buffet staff was particularly helpful and so cheerful, especially Spring! Room was comfortable and clean. The only ding I have is the valet parking. Hubby doesn't like to have his car touched. Thankfully they have self parking up the street for cheaper. Definitely would stay here again when in the area.

The breakfast was delicious and Spring was a breath of fresh air. She was so kind, upbeat, johnny on the spot with anything you needed. She kept the dining area very clean. She kindly spoke to everyone that came into eat breakfast. A very kind soul. Always smiling. The food was refreshed often as well as the coffee and hot water. I had waffles both days and they were delicious with so many choices to complement them. I would also like to thank Yarlin, Amy, Steve, and Shahada for making our breakfast a wonderful treat. The staff at the front desk were kind and competent. I didn’t have time to use the workout room but it looked great. The lobby was very clean and inviting with the fireplace and the seating around it. The little snack area was there if needed. We had an excellent stay all around. It’s nice to hear the positive. Your excellent work through the hotel did not go unnoticed. Have a blest day and we would love to come back some day.

Our group of 10 stayed here in January 2025 and we had a wonderful experience. We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating including the breakfast and concierge staff. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. We all had different views from our rooms. Some had river views, some had partial views and some had views of the construction next door. The view or lack of views from the rooms didn’t affect our stay since we didn’t spend a lot of time in our rooms. The majority of the time we were out exploring the area or socializing on the fabulous rooftop bar at the hotel. We found that the hotel location was ideal for us. We flew into Savannah, got an Uber to the hotel, and then explored the city by foot, boat and Trolley. The majority of the area's top restaurants, shopping venues and attractions are within walking distance from this hotel.

2. This is less desirable area of Savannah. Construction, new boxy hotels and a good walk to the center.
3. In our situation this hotel charged us for parking 2 cars instead of one. And I had to pend time proving it. Nobody apologized. They weren't happy that I noticed this "mistake"
4. Our reservation clearly says what price we should pay ( the cost of the room and the taxes) but the hotel charged us $100 more.

Just got back from a five night stay. From the minute we walked in until we left, we were very satisfied with the hotel, location and staff. The people at the front desk that we interacted with were all very friendly and helpful. Danielle checked us in and followed up by text to make sure we were satisfied with our room. The room was a king suite with a river view on the 6th floor. It was so clean, well laid out and quiet. It also had a full kitchen, which I was not expecting. The shower had the best pressure ... I'm going to miss it. The breakfast buffet and dining room was excellent. It had something for everyone. I have gluten intolerance, but there was food for me too. Spring was outstanding. She's so friendly and welcoming. Amy, Maddie, Tashem, George and Steve work tirelessly making sure everything is fresh, delicious and clean. We had to stay an extra day due to a flight cancellation, and Shannon helped me get a room for the extra night and even remembered my name the next morning when we were leaving at 4 am. We had to change rooms, and TJ made that as seamless as possible. I also want to shout out to Jasmine who saw me on the day of my flight cancellation, and remembered the next morning when she saw me that not only was my flight changed, but that I was missing my cat and couldn't wait to get home to her. The location was at the end of River Street, but the shops, restaurants and activities on River Street are a 5-10 minute walk (depending on how fast you walk). As for as improvements, they may want to get some new pillows (they aren't bad, but could get flat quickly), and to leave the ice water out in the lobby all day.

Stayed there for 3 nights last month. I was kind of disappointed in a Homewood suites hotel, they're usually better. The first thing is the whole area in front of hotel is under construction so river walk was unaccessible. Paid extra for a river front room and got a room that you had to look around a wall to see river. We ran out of towels and asked for more towels and change of linen at 9am. When we returned at 3pm no towels no change of linen. What ever you do don't get valet parking, they screw you with a $50 nightly fee when there is a public garage 100 feet away for $10 night. Food was good and cafe personnel were great. Also Sheila D. the concierge was wonderful. All in all I'd say find somewhere else.

Wonderful 3-day stay! My husband and I made the perfect choice by staying here with our dog. The room, kitchenette, and bathroom were immaculate. The location is ideal, walking distance to all the Savannah action, parks, restaurants, and shops. Finally, we were mostly impressed by the hotel breakfast and the staff. The food was fresh and appealing and all the attendants were friendly and attentive. They always greeted us and provided a welcoming atmosphere. Thank you Ms. Spring, Yarlin, Steve, Amy, and Tashell! We will return on our next visit to Savannah.

On the river hotel experience, great stay will be back!

The hotel has kept the original building appearance upon arrival impressive. There was construction next door to hotel, so parking was a little crazy to get to valet. Once there went smooth, there is a hefty fee for parking just like other hotels in vicinity. This is a handy location to the riverfront, restaurants, and easy walking EVEN better once the construction is over.
Our room had a view of the river, comfy beds, and sofa. The first container ship that went by was a surprise! To see up close the number of containers and length of the ship was awesome. We stood by the windows checking it out. Wish the windows were bigger to sit and watch the river, but keeping the integrity of the original building is understandable.
The rooftop pool, bar, and view of the city is incredible. Be sure to stop up at night and take a look. The bar has specials and serves some food. There is seating there and around the pool area.
The staff is very pleasant especially the check in answering our questions. Breakfast was good. Overall, a great stay, handy location, nice hotel, and rooftop view with a pool a big plus.

My husband and I stayed here two nights while visiting Savannah. TJ at the front desk is extremely helpful. There was a warm hospitality with all of the employees. We had a nice, comfortable, clean King room overlooking the river. The hotel was quiet, and breakfast is provided. One can either self park or use valet parking. The hotel is in a great location on the Riverfront, and it's within walking distance to some of Savannah's most well-known streets. It is convenient to Vic's on the Riverfront, a favorite restaurant.

This morning we went to enjoy your breakfast buffet and your staff especially Spring is a true shining star! She makes everyone feel important and embodies kindness❤️. Steve, Harol and Yarlin were also friendly and welcoming!
When I checked in table was dirty and bathroom tube appeared dirty. I immediately requested my room be changed. Next room better but the vinyl on chair at desk peeling. The saving grace was the amazing staff. Everyone nice. Special shout out to Spring she greets all customers at breakfast...

Worst hotel stay of my life
Run away from this property. Stay literally anywhere else. Our first room reeked of marijuana smoke. In our second room, shower water from the room above poured into our bathroom. The river view we paid for was actually a view of a construction crane. Many advertised amenities either didn't work...
Run away from this property. Stay literally anywhere else. Our first room reeked of marijuana smoke. In our second room, shower water from the room above poured into our bathroom. The river view we paid for was actually a view of a construction crane. Many advertised amenities either didn't work or simply didn't exist. The staff refused to address any of our issues, and tried to charge us for our entire stay - despite us leaving after 16 hours without so much as getting to take a shower. Just a horrific place.

As a Lifetime Diamond Member I have stayed at too many Hilton Properties to mention. That being said there are some employees that shined at this hotel making our stay extra special. In the Breakfast area I would like to recognize Spring, Amy, George, Tashell and Harol. Their attentiveness to customer service and satisfaction was Second to None.
The last employee and one of the "Absolute Best" that I have ever dealt with in all of my stays was Amanda at the Front Desk. Due to a Logistical Issue during our stay and me being a retired Quality Manager, I reported my issue to Amanda who was working at the front desk. I did not have to ask for any problem resolution as her dedication to customer service, satisfaction and her personalty instantly "kicked in" to resolve the issue immediately. Amanda is a credit to this Homewood Suites property and to the Hilton chain. Thank You for a Fantastic Stay and the next time we are visiting Savannah, the Homewood Suites Riverfront will be our hotel of choice.

The Great Reviews are Misleading — this Hotel Was a Disaster
We booked this hotel because it had great reviews and a Peloton in the gym. We’re not people who usually write negative reviews or nitpick small issues, but our experience here was so consistently bad—and so poorly handled by the front desk staff—that it needs to be shared. The front...
We booked this hotel because it had great reviews and a Peloton in the gym. We’re not people who usually write negative reviews or nitpick small issues, but our experience here was so consistently bad—and so poorly handled by the front desk staff—that it needs to be shared.
The front desk staff did not appear to care at all. Every time we raised an issue, they told us to speak with a manager—but also told us no manager was on site. When I called to report that water was leaking into our bathroom, the response was a flat: “ok.” No apology, no urgency, no effort to make it right.
Here’s what went wrong in less than 24 hours:
* Peloton broken (one of the main reasons we booked): first the screen, then the seat, then the resistance knob—it never worked.
* Water leaking from the bathroom above into our bathroom, making our shower unusable because someone else’s dirty water was dripping directly into it.
* Fridge door wouldn’t close, repeatedly swinging open and triggering a loud alarm.
* First assigned room smelled strongly of weed, as did the hallway—this is supposedly a non-smoking hotel. So we had to pack up and switch rooms.
*we paid for a "river view" room. Yes we could see the river, but there was also an active, large construction site in between our room and the river. Not a nice view, and it is misleading for the hotel to be upcharging for these rooms.
To make matters worse, the hotel refused to take responsibility when it came to our booking. We had booked through Expedia on what was labeled a “non-refundable” rate. Given the circumstances, we expected flexibility. The hotel denied a refund for the first night since we stayed, and then refused to even respond to Expedia about the second and third nights, claiming no manager was available to approve it. They kept deferring and avoiding. In the end, Expedia did the right thing and refunded us out of their own pocket—this refund came from Expedia, not from the hotel.
Between the broken amenities, the unusable bathroom, the smell, and front desk staff who acted like none of it mattered, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. We travel often and rarely complain; this time, the problems—and the hotel’s refusal to address them—left us no choice.
Savannah has plenty of excellent hotels: charming historic inns, boutique hotels with genuine service, and well-run chains that actually care about their guests. There is simply no reason to waste your money or your vacation here. With so many better options, booking this hotel is a mistake you don’t have to make.
