We enjoyed our stay at Headwaters Lodge. Wishing to visit Yellowstone Park, even booking a year ahead I found that suitable accommodation within the park was either already taken or too expensive. Although Headwaters Lodge is not cheap we thought our premium cabin was well positioned, quiet, and reasonably equipped. It was warm and comfortable as the cold autumn nights arrived. The accommadation is as described on the website. The coffeemaker was adequately supplied with pods. The service staff were all helpful.
The Lodge position is very close to the South entrance to Yellowstone and it is an easy drive to visit Old Faithfull one day and Canyon another.
The grocery store is limited, pricey and more expensive than the better store at Coulter Bay.
Travelling up from Salt Lake City we were glad we called in at Walmart in Logan to stock up with a few supplies.
The restaurant is inadequate as it cannot cope with the numbers who wish to dine. They do have a no booking/ walk up policy, and noone will go hungry but waiting times for seating are 45 minutes to an hour. And you can't always wait with a drink in the bar because that's full too. This needs rectifying and will require a physical expansion to the lodge and the hiring of more staff. When we did get to eat there the food was not bad and not as expensive as others have suggested considering the remote location of the lodge.

The room was full of mosquitoes when we arrived. We probably killed about 50 before we went to dinner. It was also very hot and stuffy. There was no air conditioning and the room faced west, close to the river, with no trees to provide shade so it was even hotter than a cabin would normally be. You couldn’t open the windows or the patio door because of the swarms of mosquitoes. A fan was provided but even that wasn’t sufficient because the amount of air it could circulate was weak. All in all for a room in excess of $400 dollars per night if I could give it a -10 I would. We didn’t bother saying anything because we looked at the cancellation policy and we would have forfeited nearly a $1000 to leave. The right thing to do would be to refund our money.

While I appreciate the ranch-style hotel's location, I am dismayed and appalled by the poor value for money, especially since we paid over $400 for one night. We stayed for one night while traveling from the Roosevelt Arch to Mount Teton and arrived late due to a 1.5-hour traffic delay in West Yellowstone. There are no dining options between West Yellowstone and the ranch after 8 PM, which we expected, but the traffic issue was frustrating and we missed restuarant close times. Upon arrival at 11 PM, it was completely dark. Our room was situated at the very back of the property, requiring a lengthy walk from the parking area in the pitch dark, although thankfully, a security guard accompanied us. This was the only plus point. To add to our discomfort, we found a spider on the curtain. The first disappointment was the condition of the room: the bed sheets were wrinkled and had holes, and the bathroom was filthy. When I reported these issues to the front desk the next day, they dismissed my concerns, stating that since we booked through Hotels.com, they could not assist us. It was shocking to see that their willingness to help was seemingly conditional on how we booked our stay.

Don’t hesitate to stay here

Super convenient location between parks. What’s not to like other than having to caffeinate with diet soda from the car.

Headwaters WAS a nice place to stay. Through the years we've stayed there 3 - 4 times. It was worth the money because of the forested setting and the comfortable, well-maintained cabins with two queen-size beds. On this stay, our standard cabin was poorly maintained and in need of a good, deep cleaning (more than a maid typically has time to do). The tired old bath towels were in tatters; a floor lamp was broken, its top atilt; another lamp's shade was splattered with stains. I found our room phone disconnected when I tried to call the lodge. They told me that the lines were still down from last winter (it is now September)! For over $360/night, a Keurig coffee maker, rather than an ancient drip-coffee maker, would have been nice. I realize that it's all about location, but these cabins used to be nicely maintained. The broken lamp, raggy towels, broken phone, old coffee maker all say to me: "We don't CARE about our guests!" I left feeling slightly ripped off. Important to note: the hard-working staff was always friendly and efficient - the best!

We enjoyed our cabin at Flagg Ranch, and we would recommend this place to our fellow travelers. We stopped here after touring Grand Teton National Park for a day, and immediately before entering Yellowstone.
Be aware that the is no TV, radio, or internet in your cabin. Our T-Mobile cell phones had poor connections on an alternative network partner.
I was able to use the connection in the main lodge to respond to necessary messages, but I would have preferred to have done the in the comfort of my own room.

Excellent place to stay! The location is at the north entrance to Grand Tetons and South entrance to Yellowstone. It made it very convenient to visit both! The facilities were nice and clean! We enjoyed both the restaurant and horseback riding at the ranch! I will definitely be back!
Always nice to stay right in the National Park
We lucked out to get a reservation for 1 night when someone cancelled. It’s nice to have full hook ups in the national park. The sites are fairly spaced out and the showers are clean, private and enough hot water with good pressure.
Don’t stay the night just eat and shop!

I would not recommend staying the night in a cabin. Our cabin smelled like dog urine and smoke. The staff and management were very good to try and ozone the room while we eating in the restaurant. But it didn’t work! The smell was so bad I would gag. So they moved us to a different cabin and discounted the price by half. The second cabin also smelled but not as bad. We were tired and really didn’t have another option. Another guest also left because of the smell…they got a refund. There is no wifi in the cabin or tv, which was fine with me. The staff I would give a 10/10.

We stayed at Headwaters Cabins and it was nice and peaceful but expensive. We paid $350 a night for a small cabin. It’s only two miles from Yellowstone Park South Entrance is only open about 5 months from May to the end of September. This place has a gift shop, restaurant and a gas station. The restaurant was also pricey and the service is slow but the staff is nice and most of the workers are young kids who are there for the summer and live on site. If you want to stay near the park then stay at Headwaters Cabins.
