Husband and I stayed one week. Comfortable 2nd floor balcony suite overlooking the pool. Carpet was very worn, ants in the room. Quiet during the night. Breakfast wasn’t all that great. I’m not sure if the hotel designates rooms for dogs, our room had a wet dog smell. There were 2 particular schnauzer dogs that barked incessantly, owner didn’t care apparently. First time in a hotel in obx, we always booked a house. Will do a house next time we visit.

Travelled to the OBX for a couple days and stayed at the Hampton Inn in Corolla. It was very relaxing experience. The bed was comfortable the TV and AC were in working order. There was no room drama. It is a great location near the wild horse sanctuary and there are a couple of different tour options to ride through the sanctuary. We visited the local museum and climbed the 200+ steps up the Currituck Lighthouse.
Back at the hotel the pool facilities were very nice and all in service. The area was extremely clean and tidy and the star of that show was Nate. He was very detailed washing down the pool deck and after awhile stopped to see how our stay was going. It is always appreciative when someone goes out of their way to check and make sure your stay is pleasant.

My husband and I came in a few days early before our family vacation home was available. The Hampton Inn was conveniently located in Corolla so by the house. The room was large and spacious and clean.
The staff was friendly (although very lightly staffed front desk). Coffee in lobby is stocked all day and great flavor!
Impt to know that there is no restaurant at this hotel so be sure to grab dinner if coming in late! The rooms do have microwaves and fridges if you grab something quick and bring it back.
Staff allowed us to use pool and beach entrance even after checkout, which was nice to kill time till our house was ready.
We would definitely stay here again!

We have been visiting this Hampton Inn in Corolla for well over 10 years and have always enjoyed our stays.
On this visit we stayed for three nights for an early Spring trip and as usual we had a very pleasant visit.
Our room was a Beach/Pool side suite on the second floor and it turned out to be perfect as it seemed to have been recently updated which was well appreciated.
Large wide screen TV, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker were in the room as well as a dining table with 4 chairs and 2 chairs on the balcony.
The room was spotless.
The complimentary breakfast was your standard Hampton Inn fare and was fine with a number of breakfast selections.
There is 24 hour coffee available in the lobby as well.
Every member of the staff that we encountered were both friendly and professional and ready to help with any requests.
All in all a very pleasant experience and we will return again this upcoming Fall.
Note: There is a Harris Teeter grocery store a few miles up the road and some great dining a few miles South in Duck Village that you will pass on your way to the hotel.

We are longtime OBX visitors but usually rent a house. This was our first time staying in a hotel at the beach. We were very pleasantly surprised. Being off season, our room was ready before the official check in time and was very clean and roomy (king suite). The lobby is very well done and all the staff we encountered were very friendly. I think the rooms need a bit of updating and minor cosmetic changes. The free breakfast was better than expected as was the coffee. The oceanfront location can’t be beat. Would definitely stay again.

The locations is very much out quiet and off the beaten path. Its about 20 minutes to Carolla, 20 minutes to Duck and 45 minutes to Kill Devil Hills. The hotel is comfortable and nicely decorated. The sand dunes are too high to get a great ocean view, even on the third floor. But every place along the outer bank beaches has a big sand dune in front with a few exceptions. The Hilton Garden Inn to the south is one of those exceptions, but its more crowded. The Hampton Inn here has a nice indoor pool and hot tub. The outdoor pool and lazy river are also very nice. We really enjoyed the breakfast every morning too.

We booked an ocean front room a year before staying last weekend for three nights. Upon arriving, we barely got looked at by the person on duty. He was very busy staring at his computer and another person came along while we cooled our heels (after driving 6 or so hours to get there), and we asked if he would assist. When he was ready we checked in with him (the other man took someone else in this time who just appeared) and I was told were getting a second floor room. I had asked a year ago for them to note that I preferred the top floor and this night they were not full. Without giving me any response, I was given the third floor room and it was really nice when we finally got into it. The view, although behind a dune, was still pretty nice. The room coffee was pretty bad though, but they have fresh coffee in the lobby all the time. The breakfast the next two mornings was thoughtful and tasty. The last morning, we had to leave so early, I didn't get to enjoy it. The clerk that morning barely looked or spoke to us and I had to ask twice for a receipt. She didn't look up either as we left. What ever happened to "How may I help you" or "How was your stay?" Are the employees so disgruntled/tired/bored/unhappy that they don't realize or care that the traveler (me) is the reason that they have their jobs? I don't understand this but I wish that some manager would reply to this review and explain this to me. This is an expensive resort and you don't even get daily housekeeping anymore at most places, I've noticed. This location is down a one way highway and off of an access road; not all that convenient to get into and out of. The lobby is really pretty and spacious, with many large shell displays, but the people leave a lot to be desired in the hospitality area.

I believe that this was an older hotel acquired by the Hilton chain. The interior of hotel was clean and very pleasant with nice showcases of seashell collections. Rooms were comfortable but needed some minor repairs (e.g. latch on balcony screen loose). I was unable to book an ocean view room and booked a partial ocean view. There was no real partial view and I suspect that with the high dunes the ocean view people saw little of the ocean either. The wooden stairs and wooden benches were covered in sand the entire time. There were 4 outside pools and 1 inside pool which were all beautifully maintained. Staff were accomodating. Breakfast was above average. The location in the top section of the OBX we had to do alot of driving to get to things we wanted to see and do. Not many hotel choices we found.
