Truly magnificent — one of the warmest, most welcoming places we are stayed at ANYWHERE!
The purpose of our trip was to spend a week in Vermont and get snowed in.
And to that end, boy, was our arrival perfect. We drove in during on of the heaviest storms in recent memory, according to some of the locals.
The always-on fireplace was such an inviting spot, while the round-the-clock free coffee kept us warm. (really, we tested it one day by coming down at 5am and sure enough there was fresh coffee ready!)
The breakfasts were stellar. None of this "Continental Breakfast" stuff you find at other places. This was a full, gourmet breakfast: bacon, eggs, pancakes, hash browns, two types of juices, oatmeal with every topping you can think of... cereals of different kids.
And the weekday wine reception in the evenings is such a cozy place to hang out, relax and maybe even get to know your fellow travelers.
Oh and the beds. We actually took our fitted sheet off to find out what kind of magical mattress they have. (Serta Perfect Sleeper Concierge Suite II, if you're wondering
My girlfriend who is very sensitive to sleeping in a new bed absolutely LOVED the mattress and said we need to buy one (we're currently on the hunt for one). She said she got the best sleep of her life.
I think the mattress helped, but also the nearly-blackout curtains helped a lot as well.
Truly a magical experience.
If you've gotten this far, make sure you go to nearby Zaytoona Restaurant. It's a hidden gem and honestly one of the best meals we've ever had. Fresh, flavorful ingredients in every dish. Make sure you get the baba ganoush and the tabouli. Absolutely mind blowing!

Loved this place! Beautiful, with classical music playing softly in the lobby area. Missed the late afternoon refreshments but clearly convivial and enjoyed by other guests. Good-sized, comfortable room/suite and bed. Quiet. Nice spa & pool. Very good hot/cold breakfast buffet. Easy access to all kinds of services. Free close parking. Would definitely stay here again! Price was very reasonable the night we stayed (~$160), two weeks later had soared to $310 so stayed elsewhere, timing matters.

We spent a very pleasant 7 nights in this hotel -- and overall thought it was very good. The only reason for not giving it a 5 rating was that there was no where in the hotel to get a meal / drink in the evening -- which would have been nice.
That said there were some very nice aspects to the hotel -- there was the Tues/Wed/Thursday evening drinks and light snacks opportunity to sit downstairs and meet fellow travellers. There were two massive fireplaces (gas fired) and nice comfortable seats to sit at in the reception area.
On arrival we were offered donuts and apple juice -- a nice touvch after a days travelling
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The room was perfect, bed comfortable and all appliances in room worked as expected
We were using the hotel as a base to explore Burlington area, Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains -- and this worked well

Since this hotel is a very pet friendly hotel, be aware there are pet friendly wings here. So, if you are allergic like my husband is, make sure to request you be placed in a different wing.
I have stayed at pet friendly hotels before where if you wanted a pet friendly room, you need to request that and not the opposite. When we originally checked in to our room, we noticed an odor. My husband said maybe it's the cleaning products they used so we opened up all the windows to try to air out the room while we got our luggage.
Unfortunately, the smell never went away even with the windows opened for over an hour and was so strong that I really couldn't imagine spending the night there since I couldn't keep the windows open all night when it is snowing outside.
I called the front desk and he was very apologetic and explained that we were in a pet friendly wing of the hotel and reaccommodated us to a non pet-friendly wing of the hotel in an upgraded room with a fireplace. He turned what would've been a 1 star experience to a 4 star one.
The rooms are extremely spacious where you would feel at home for extended stays and having the fireplace created a cozy experience with those Hallmark movies. The pool was heated and a good sized for some laps that I didn't even want to leave until dinner.
The lobby was nicely decorated for the holidays for a great ambiance for your morning breakfast especially with the snow falling outside.
