Warm welcome by the staff, we were offered a welcome drink during checkin and luggage was brought immediately to the room. The terrace and pool all in a very nice setting. Nice big cushions on the poolchairs. The staff is very friendly and wants to please in every request, and always a big smile. Very nice and comfortable rooms, lots of space for clothes. The mattress was the best i slept on since years. The breakfast was just amazing, the freshly made granola bowls and fresh fruit are delicious. Warm breakfast can be ordered at the table.
we booked a tour to Cape Point, Boulders beach, Muizenberg, Kalk bay,Chapmans Peak from the hotel. Our driver Jason was amazing, very good driver and professional. He gave a lot of information during the tour and adjusted timings to our wish. Can highly recommend the tour and ask for jason as your driver, you wont be disappointed. He is a real asset to the hotel, as all the staff. They are simply amazing and make the Glen Boutique Hotel a highly recommended place to stay during your visit in Cape Town. Next time we go back, it will be the Glen for sure!

This little hotel is an absolute gem. An oasis of calm in the midst of the city. It’s a short taxi(Uber) ride from the V and A and has restaurants within walking distance. The breakfast was divine sitting on a lovely terrace by the pool and we ate there one evening too. The decor is beautiful and our room , though small , was very comfortable. They have secure private parking but we hadn’t collected the car so they stored our golf clubs in the luggage room to save space in our bedroom. Honestly nothing could have been nicer. We loved the whole place and its gorgeous diversity. All the staff deserve a special mention. They were all delightful.

My wife Michelle, who has just confessed to being picky, lol, gave me a list of the top 10 things she loved about The Glen. In no particular order
- genuinely friendly, authentic and attentive staff
- providing great service
- quality and cleanliness of the hotel
- attention to detail throughout the hotel
- attractive decor and furnishing
- excellent selection of breakfast options from picky eaters to big breakfast
- at dinner nothing was too much trouble - we had to move indoors due to the wind
- complimentary Gin and Tonic in the evening
- extremely high quality exfoliating massage (2 hours). Better than European spas we've been to.
- complimentary late checkout was offered - we had an evening flight and were very grateful.
- turn downs, complimentary water and chocolates, mosquito spray in the rooms...
You get the gist. I loved it too :-)
Amazing value by European standards.

This was one of the best hotel stays we’ve ever had! The property itself is beautiful, set in the hills of the centrally located Sea Point, and the rooms were very comfortable. What really set this hotel apart though is the service and staff. Everyone we met was beyond kind, thoughtful, and went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent stay. The included breakfast was amazing as well. Overall 10/10, cannot wait to return someday!

We loved The Glen Hotel from the moment we arrived until we left. We actually stayed here twice, for four nights at the beginning of our holiday and for three nights at the end. The staff were fantastic and so friendly. They we always there for us when we needed them, remembering our drinks preferences and my name when I arrived for my second stay. The rooms we got were lovely, very luxurious and both beds were very comfortable. In fact the room we received on our first visit (room 2) was so nice we thought about requesting it for our next stay but I forgot. We were given room 1 on our second stay and that was even nicer. What I mean by nice is proper 5 star hotel nice. Day trips were arranged for us as were airport transfers on our return. Food was superb quality and very reasonably priced, I particularly loved the breakfast.

Superb! We selected our suite in advance (Suite 1) and LOVED it. It is in the original building and is light, bright and airy with the most comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. We need to come back in warmer weather to more fully utilize both our private balcony and the outdoor public spaces at The Glen. Our traveling companions picked Suite 11 for themselves and it was perfect for them. It is a newer construction, down by the Spa, and very quiet and private due to the semi-below grade nature of the room. They said they had THE BEST sleep and they adored the absolutely HUGE bed.
All the staff was so wonderful and welcoming. Being greeted with their smiles every time we returned made our hearts soar. I wish I remembered specific names to call out. "The super stylish guy" facilitated several things for us and saved us making a big mistake when renting a car by doing some research while we were having breakfast. Nothing was a problem or a bother for anyone. On the day we left, our flight wasn't until after 9 pm. If someone wasn't checking into our suite that day they would have let us in it all day. As it was, we packed our bags and they moved them while we were out to Room 4 so that we could shower before our flight. This was SO appreciated and made all the difference in how much we enjoyed our last day and our flight home. Room 4 is a tiny room, but it served it's purpose and we appreciated no extra charge.
The breakfast buffet was "chef's kiss!" and you can also order an item off the breakfast hot menu. "Fancy coffee drinks" like lattes, capps, etc. are included. They had oat and soy milk available (probably almond also, but we didn't ask). Anita at breakfast just SHONE. She brightened every morning for us.
Airport pickup on arrival was arranged in advance. Jason picked us up seamlessly and sped us to The Glen in their very nice van. He was the perfect introduction to Cape Town and was immediately our favorite person. Our travel partners booked hotel transfer on leaving and they appreciated the ease of it and were driven by the owner who they enjoyed talking with.
The Glen is in a great, safe area. We walked many times down to the oceanfront promenade. It takes maybe 5 minutes to be at the oceanfront. A main road is a block down. We walked back one night after dark from the Mojo Market and felt safe. Ubers were plentiful and CHEAP and they are constantly circulating near The Glen. We never waited more than 2 minutes for an Uber to arrive.
My husband and I had a 90 minute "African Massage" with Belinda and ?? (sorry I've forgotten the name) our last day before our flight home. The price was great and WOW they did an amazing job. My husband wanted "medium" pressure and I am a "get in there and DIG with firm pressure" gal, both massage therapists gave us exactly what we wanted. My hubby wasn't sure about getting the massage since he's not a spa kind of guy, but afterwards raved about it for the rest of the day. I only wish we had done more while we were there. I will vouch that Belinda did an amazing job and the decision to go with 90 minutes instead of 60 was fabulous.
Can I ding them on anything? Hmmmm, only the most minor of points. I would have loved a little more orientation as to what was complimentary for guests at the hotel. Use of the spa facilities? Hours for the sauna/hot tub in the spa? Were the gin and tonics in the afternoon complimentary? What about a coffee drink in the afternoon? The afternoon cake and little snacks? We were a little confused, and probably didn't listen well on arrival because we were discombobulated from our flight. I'm guessing we're not the only ones that arrive after long flights and hardly remember our names and can't focus on what we're being told. An orientation on arrival and then running through things again maybe at your first breakfast would have been super helpful to us. Bad on us for not just ASKING, obviously. Also, it would have been GREAT if the outdoor hot tub had been filled and heated. Even though it was cool at night, we would have sat outside every night in it with drinks if it had been available. Also, our first night we ate in (appreciating the vegan options on the menu!) and the servers were lovely but something was going on in the kitchen and food came out SLOWLY and in strange order. That kept us from eating there again, which was a shame (we are Americans and we tend to want speedy and efficient food service).
Overall, top notch STAFF (they really make the place, hope they are paid well!), beautiful place, super convenient location readily accessible to everything with Uber.

Great hotel with lovely helpful staff, good location near ocean and restaurants, bountiful breakfast, great value.
Taking one star off for off season adjustments: pool is not heated (which I understand as electricity is expensive) but outdoor jacuzzi is also shut down for the season. Given the chillier evenings, the jacuzzi would be perfect this time of year. There is an inside one at the spa, but that closes down at 6pm. This is a minor item, but still a disappointment.
