Gatlinburg Inn

We have stayed at the Hotel several times in the past. The location is great walking distance to just about everything. The Rooms are very comfortable (we always stay on the first floor in the original rooms) The breakfast is very good in the mornings also. Great Hotel

Everything about this hotel is perfect. Tremendous attention to detail everywhere. Breakfast was the best of any hotel ever. Best location. Once we parked, we never moved our car. Loved all the original wood finishes in the hotel. We will be back.

This is are 3rd stay at this Historic Hotel. Always a great stay. Perfect location for walking the downtown area. We always stay on the first floor in the original room. Staff is great, rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is nice. Would recommend this hotel for everyone visiting Gatlinburg.

Keep in mind this is truly a historic hotel. We were caught off guard when we first entered our room but quickly realized it had everything we needed. This truly turned out to be one of our favorite spots ever. If you are looking for a modern hotel with fancy amenities this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a clean hotel with wonderful staff and a slower pace this is your place. We were always greeted with a smile from the desk to the cleaning staff. Breakfast was delicious, and they served fresh tomato slices with it just like my grandma. The hotel is right in the middle of the main activities so you can come and go easily. The rocking chairs around the porch were a perfect spot to rest. I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay here. Can’t wait to go back!

Stayed here in early June. Was with my wife, so this review is based on two people, and no kids. The good: 1) The included breakfast is amazingly good, and very close to what you can get off site. If you had to go out to a restaurant every morning and pay for what you get here, I think it would cost you at least $40. 2) The staff is amazing, and very attentive to your needs, and very friendly. 3) Of course the location, right in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg, is probably the biggest selling point. If you had to drive in from a hotel or cabin or condo not near the parkway, parking is $20 a day. 4) Most rooms have a balcony, and if you’re lucky enough to snag one facing east, you can people watch folks walking on the parkway (bring your binoculars for best viewing, ;-). The not so good: 1) Water pressure in this place is very low. 2) The TVs are HD capable, but the service they have is not in HD. I didn’t even think it was possible to get non-HD service in this day and age. LOL 3) Out of 150+ rooms, only a handful have a microwave and fridge. Ours did not; we brought in a medium sized cooler and kept that filled with ice. 4) The building is very old & rustic, and it has a somewhat musty smell. 5) Parking can be a real challenge, especially if you have a larger vehicle. Behind the building has “normal” sized spots, but in front, most of the spots are quite small. Bottom line is that I definitely would recommend, mainly because of the location and the breakfast.

It was Ok, room was clean, except for spider webs on the balconies. Everyone was friendly, Location is great, Breakfast was good.

The only thing we missed at this hotel is the room did not have a mini fridge. One night we were sitting out on the front porch and a bear walked through the parking lot!

If you are looking for a convenient, reasonably priced place for your trip, I recommend the Gatlinburg Inn.

We have been coming to Gatlinburg for the past several years, at least three or four times a year and staying at different hotels each time trying to find the perfect place to stay. Well our search is over. Stayed at this Inn in August and it was the best. We love to stay at historic places in our travels and I finally found this jewel. It is right on the strip which is so walkable. The interior is beautiful, and the rooms are very clean. A plus is the balcony where you can sit and people watch without all the hassle of getting out and walking. Breakfast is available and coffee was good. The bathrooms are nicely remodeled and the beds are comfortable. Will definitely stay here in our future travels.

I have been to Gatlinburg many times in my life .This was my first time staying here.Check in was quick and easy and we were even able to get in earlier than planned.We were given a different room than what was booked due to maintenance issues.The room we had was on the first floor and had a perfect view of the chairlift.(as requested when booked)The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable.The furnishings were dated but we had all that we needed .We also had a bathtub /rainshower so that was perfect for our needs.We had a balcony with 2 rockers and a divider wall between neighbors.There was no microwave or refrigerator and they werent missed and there was a nice flatscreen tv.There was a nice size closet and plenty of storage drawer space.Included in the room rate was a delicious hot breakfast.We were there 4 days and breakfast always included homemade large biscuit,gravy,bakery breads,waffles,fruits,yogurt,juices,milks,and a different meat each day and hash browns.The meats varied from bacon ,sausage patties,link sausage,and ham.Later in the day there was always a dessert to try...usually cookies or brownies.The swimming pool was immaculately clean but I never saw anyone use it.It also had a handicap lift.The lobby was full of historical pics on the walls of people who have stayed there.There was a comfy lounge where you could sit by the fire and play games or just relax.The front porch also had plenty of rockers to enjoy the view of the main street and there was also an outdoor fireplace.I have traveled many places but this is the only hotel that is right in the middle of things to walk to and it is also very homey and quiet.They do not allow pets and there were also no children while we were there.Everyone we talked to that was staying there was very nice and the staff bent over backwards to help if needed.

The Gatlinburg Inn is a place where famous people use to come, when visiting Gatlinburg. Its been said that Liberace use to stay there. Its a hotel in the middle of town, so you have all the entertainment you want. The rooms haven’t changed much since the glory days, but that’s part of the experience, I guess. If you are going to have breakfast, try the waffles, they are fresh made and delicious! Staff is very friendly!

We’ve stayed at this hotel before because of its location. It’s one of if not the oldest hotel in Gatlinburg. The furniture is the same furniture that was there she it opened. The bathroom has been updated. Would liked to have had a lamp or another light in the room....
