So if you want complete tranquility go to their sister hotel in the mountains (Sensei) but if you want a wonderful pool and ocean experience, beautiful rooms that feel like you are in nature and one of the best Nobu's I've ever experienced, come here. You must go on the snorkel sail just to enjoy the boat. Everything at this hotel is luxurious. The only downside is you will see a lot of children (if you want to avoid them, go to Sensei) and the occasional Trump apparel (which I find completely distasteful at a place like this where you are spending so much money - keep politics at home, please. Thank you.) Other than that, you can't go wrong here.

Having been here in 2019 we wanted to try again. Booked a garden room at a good rate and upon check in was given a two room upgrade to an oceanview room on 2nd floor. For the age the rooms still look nice and clean and well maintained. Was given great welcome amenities as celebrating wife’s birthday. Was given a bottle of wine , chocolate cake and a cheese plate. Housekeeping was some hit and miss. Some days they did not empty our garbage and other days they did things haphazardly like not giving enough water or enough face clothes. One day we requested turn for 6:30 and they called me at 6:00 to see if they could come then. I was still getting ready for dinner.
1) Dining under the stars. Pricey at 1,500 per couple but you get to eat under the big hibiscus tree. Our server said this is Mr. Ellisons’s spot and only gets used for these dinners and need prior approval. Server was great and had a very good custom menu. Would recommend if special occasion. 5/5
2) we decided to try a pool sanctuary as were able to book the one for the above area where we had dinner. It took a full day to get permission before they could approve our rental for the day. I would not recommend this as they were unsure of what was included in the price. We showed up at 9 and did not find out until I complained that service started at 11:00 am. We had to ask to get them to set up an umbrella. Jay the manager came by after I fired off a chat to the front desk. He came by and advised what was included in the rental for 800 usd ( one champagne or four drinks, a fruit plate and choice of one appetizer and a Four seasons amenity) and that we could order some food over hay was included as long as it was not outrageous and he would sneak it in as an amenity. The Four Season amenity was two eyeglass cleaners and two aloe water sprays for skin. When the bill came nothing was adjusted and despite only having 3 drinks and not having our appetizer as we elected to have two mains and an order of ice cream we had to pay for all this extra food. I did not want to bring it up as He made the promises and thought He would follow through. Also, it was a Sunday and from 1:00 pm onwards some local yokels were blasting their music from the public beach area so loud you could hear it from where we were sitting from over 700 meters away. The music was so loud I could make out the words to all the songs. I realize this is on a public beach but this went on for four hours and someone could have called the authorities as it clearly states on Lanai beach rules that this is not allowed. This happened as well on the Tuesday but only for 1/2 hour. Save your money and avoid the sanctuary and do something else on a Sunday unless you like loud music to relax to. 0/5. Pool area 4/5. Staff hit and miss and best staff Carmelita, Jordan and Kamele.
3) shooting rifle range. This was a highlight. We were able to spend an hour with Frankie and he taught hot to use a 22 rifle and shot at targets. Would definitely recommend along with pistol or skeet which we did in the past. 5/5
4) restaurants. Mozza Osteria is now closed due to renovations until August. Ok Italian but would it kill them to give some bread with the meal. Nobu is basic Japanese food and nothing special. Malibu Bar overcooked our fish tacos and at night during the renos they have dinner and there was only 5 entrees of which only one was fish that my wife could eat. The Break is the best. Staff friendly and food ample. Menu big and I would suggest eating here everyday during any stay. Rest 3/5 but the Break 5/5
5) ranch hand experience. Awesome. Jessie the farmhand was great and you get to feed the crazy goats and massage the donkeys who just love this. This is complimentary. 5/5. Also do not forget to visit Griffin the parakeet. Stop by and say hello. Also, he loves music and will dance to it.
Overall 4/5. Rooms still nice and quiet. Great selection of activities. Nice and quiet resort unless the locals blast their music but food not as good unless you eat at the Break. Will most likely not be back as too many other resorts to visit in the world especially for the prices being charged.

It is a seamless transfer from Honolulu.
The hotel is nestled in a magnificent secluded bay with amazing views of the ocean. Lush tropical trees and flora is everywhere and the internal finishes of the woodwork and art decorations are stunning.
Food is covered by two restaurants, one is Nobu and the other is a Nancy Silverton italian restaurant. Each is very different and both are excellent, with good choices and lots of fresh fish, meat , sushi and pasta.
Staff are exceptional, happy, efficient and there to help you with anything you need.
There are 2 pools one is adult only ,which just means no children jumping etc.
Nothing else to say...... just stay here for 4 or 5 days and let the calm wash over you.
If you need to decompress and relax this is the place to do it.
The beach is stunning, quiet, clean and you can order food for your lunch to be delivered.

Amazing service from moment they greet you at hotel until they drop you off your every need is met. As mentioned hotel is very high-tech love the wristband for room key and all the room features. A most value added food outlet is The Break - the staff is super friendly and helpful and you can get everything from a latte and scone in the morning to a sweet in the afternoon or even an alcoholic beverage. Another highlight for us was the well equipped gym with the most amazing view and top-notch equipment. Don’t miss yoga on the beach - what a relaxing experience from the sound of the chirp of the birds to the crash of the waves.

This place is beautiful, the staff are excellent, and the scenery is amazing. We felt privileged to be here as a couple for a getaway from the kids. I spent most of my time at the beach where we had some rougher waves that I really enjoyed. We also enjoyed the Koi fish and parrots along with all the secret nooks to sit and relax in. We ate at all the restaurants and had a good to great meal at each. My favorite was waking up early and having an outdoor breakfast looking over the ocean. Thank you Four Seasons Lanai, we can't wait to come back!

It’s impossible to exaggerate the level of island elegance one can experience at the this beachfront property. It’s lush grounds; rich polished wood interior combined with impeccable service; world renown dining opportunities and top notch Spa practitioners made our stay here a holiday of ultimate relaxation. It has a white sand beach, adult only as well as family friendly pools where attendees set-up lounge chairs, offer sunscreen and lotion, speciality cocktails and delicious choices of food. Along with those waterfront area’s one can choose to relax through out the grounds where seating area’s have been situated within the beautifully curated botanicals by the waterfalls and koi ponds. If making friends with rescued macaws and parrots appeal to you, this is the only Four Season’s Resort where you can do that as their caretaker Uncle Bruno brings them poolside for one to one interactions. Perhaps the most memorable experience was spending a couple of information filled hours with Samson, one of the resorts Hawaiian culture experts. A locally born and raised Lanai-an, he shared his vast knowledge of the land and its people throughout history.
If one would like to go off property, activities like the golfing the world famous Manele Golf course; exploring Lana’i City, coastal beaches, and Sendai Four Seasons, the hotels’s sister resort, shuttles and jeep rentals are readily available. We had the pleasure of hiring a catamaran to sail and snorkel took a guided e-bike tour and zip-lining experience at the nearby adventure park, all well -worth the time and monetary investment.

The Four Seasons Resort Lanai offers an incredible tropical experience on a secluded island, perfectly capturing the essence of luxury and tranquility. The pools and beach access are exceptional, and the resort upholds the high standards that Four Seasons is known for. However, there are some areas that could be improved.
The dining options are somewhat limited, with only two standout restaurants, one average restaurant, and in-room dining available. This might be challenging for guests staying more than four days, as the dining variety may not be sufficient.
The pool service is top-notch, though it's only available until 4:30 PM, even though the pool itself is open 24 hours. The resort staff are generally great, but not all are equally knowledgeable, which could be improved unless the intention is to emphasize a laid-back island vibe with slower service.
I also used the Lanai charter service, which was an amazing experience. I stayed in the Ohana Suite, which lived up to the Four Seasons benchmark of luxury. Housekeeping deserves a 5-star rating, although it's unclear why amenities aren't consistently replenished based on the first day's setup—you often have to request items you expect to be there.
Food and beverage service varies. The breakfast restaurant and Nobu both deserve 5 stars, but the restaurant Massa falls short with poor service and an arrogant manager. Additionally, the breakfast restaurant experience is marred by a lack of air conditioning, leading to long waits and discomfort.
A notable difference from other Four Seasons properties is the absence of a personal touch from the Front Office Manager or General Manager, which is typically a hallmark of the brand. This might be due to the island setting, but it raises the question of whether expectations should be adjusted for this specific property.
Overall, while the resort excels in many areas, there are a few aspects that could benefit from attention to ensure a consistently high-end experience. I was disappointed with the spa at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai. The experience was mediocre at best. The bathrooms lacked basic amenities like a comb or hairbrush, which is surprising for a Four Seasons property. Typically, after a service, you're invited to a relaxing sitting area where they serve tea, champagne, or other goodies. However, here, they offered snacks like nuts and granola in the bathroom, which didn’t feel luxurious at all. It’s unclear what kind of atmosphere they’re aiming for, but it certainly didn’t provide the wow factor you expect from a Four Seasons spa.
